Same thing happened with the RX200...

Consider the math... if 1% are flawed, and a company only sells 1000, then there are 10 people griping. Easy to ignore. If 1000000 sell, then 10,000 people gripe, and that's harder to ignore.

I also think it's a little bit cultural... several years ago, vapers, I feel, tried a little harder to educate themselves and pick just the right device... they cost more, too. Today, they just grab whatever they see and begin with no background, no RTFM, and no regard... all of that is to say I feel there's a bit more user error than there used to be, too...

We call those "eye dee ten tee" errors...

I have an Alien and an AL85. Both have worked well for me, the finish is still fine, no weird behavior other than a lousy job at temp control. I still see lots of complaints and issues posted. Then you have a product like the Pico. Insanely popular (I think, I'm not Eleaf and know for sure but it seems that way) but very, very few complaints. And it's cheaper than the Smok stuff. So an inexpensive mod can be done if the manufacturers want. I'm not saying Smok doesn't want to build a good product, but that somewhere in their design phase they didn't correctly figure the production cost for the intended price point. And in a business like this, a few dollars is a lot when translated into volume, shipping, marketing, and on and on.

But before totally trashing on Smok vs. Eleaf, I would say the Smok BB and BBB tanks are, IMO, way better than the Melo 3 that comes with the Pico (other than the new 25 mm Pico as it comes with some new tank).

But even that is subjective. I know people that love the Melo 3, and I happen to like it myself. For me, it's far better than the BB or BBB, and I say that without trying either. Do you want to know what makes it better for me? The coils. It uses the same coils as other tanks I have and like so I don't need to invest in another coil type. So from my perspective that's a huge plus. They may be better tanks from a flavor standpoint, but I'll never know because I have no intention of adding another coil type to my collection.

The Pico is solid, no mistake... still, Eleaf has had its share of missteps... the 50 had that autofire issue... the 10 was a joke... the 20 had that brass 510.

And, yeah, since the VCT/TCT, Smok tanks have been strong. Conversely, since the Melo 3, Eleaf tanks have been questionable. The Lemo 3 was a huge joke!

    Silly question(s):

Have you noticed the large amount of posts complaining about smok aliens lately?
Is it a reflection of how poor they are or are their sales numbers higher than any other device right now?

I've noticed this on Reddit big time. Seems like every other post for a month has bene about aliens dying. It's anecdotal and they're selling so many of them I'd have to think their actual failure rate is around other manufacturers but it sure seems like a lot

They also followed the pico with the absolute,y disposable pico squeeze. Two of three I bough have failed and the IRS is on the way out. Relay weak 510 and bad buttons.

Nay of the heavily sold Chinese products are going to have a fissure rate above hand built stuff which is why choosing a vendor is so important. I recently interacted with element vape and it wa every positive. They've been great to me always.

Are you saying there is something different than a protank.

I will do @Katdarling - I talked myself into getting one and ordered quickly before I talked myself out of it :D

Leave it in the cart for a day or so..... <nudge nudge, wink wink>

Yep, you are correct Kat. Rescue Remedy consists of (given names, not scientific names) Star of Bethlehem (for 'trauma' and numbness), Rock Rose (for terror and panic), Impatients (for irritability and tension), Cherry Plum (for fear of loosing control) and Clematis (for the tendency to 'pass out', the sensation of being 'far away that often precedes unconsciousness).

From Bach Flower Therapy, Theory and Practice, Mechthild Scheffer, 1988, Healing Arts Press.

OK, enough of my holistics :rolleyes:

Back on topic, thanks for the info on the o-rings @RadiusNick !

You can speak Holistics to me, anytime!!!

So they say bad things come in 3's.... I'm hoping that does not occur with today's vape mail.
Got the JUUL in last week had to return it it was not working properly, could barely get a hit of it. Got the Digiflavor Siren in last night, the Mtl reducer part was missing and the threads on the 510 are all wonky. :( Gotta call back today and see what I can do about that. The company is sold out of them so not sure what's gonna happen with that.... HCigar VT DNA 40 mod arrives this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck, Glazed. I do hope you get some good news.

    Yes, pics!!

Sounds like a Harry Potter spell...

Hey go ahead an demerit, I work full time!

You meant to put a smiley face at the end of that, din'tcha. ;)

If I might inquire, why Fred?

Oh kad, Oh sigh. I'll have to revive that story later tonite and get back to you. I'll tell you this much (and if your appetite for insanity is still whet, I might elaborate) - it all had to do with forum thread popping around. In the language of some of our ancestors from various villages, THREAD might just be pronounced FRED. I liked it. It stuck. On my mod.

Nope, can't use that one, no k involved in vaping.

    WHAT? REALLY? I'm kdevastated!!!

I don't usually get into the bling (I know, that statement probably earns me a demerit or two;)) but I am digging that!

Thank you, kadley. Wow, thank you.

You are now demerit-free, for 17 minutes. :thumb:

Does it take the same coils.
It's an rta, you make the coils. In my case, 28g Kanthal A1, 2 mm ID 7 wraps (?) for a whopping 1.1 ohms (on the Radius, 1.4 ohms on the ohm meter) with the optional 1.3 mm center tube and JC open (or closed ?) about half way. Very nice MTL, tight draw that could be closed further with the AFC ring. Iam also using the optional mini setup.

I guess I need to name something Fred then. Maybe my pillow? No, I think George is a better name for a pillow. Why, you may ask? Because I hug and squeeze and caress my pillow.

Hmmm, I also hug and squeeze and caress my girlfriend...do you suppose she'd mind being George?

OK, I hereby christen my brass Coppervape Fred.
