I have heard that it is an excellent wick material and that it can be had in certain unmentionable sections of your local drug store.

They say it's the Kotex U brand. I still haven't tried that

If the vapocalypse happens I can make my own mod, make my own coils, and make my own juice. If I see four horsemen galloping around I'll put in a rush order for liters of 100 mgs nic in PG and gallons of USPG anhydrous VG.
I'm not worried about VG, used in other applications. First thing I stocked up on was nic, seemed like the weakest link in the chain. Quality regulated mods and a few mechs are next on my list and then rebuildable tanks and parts for those tanks. I'm sure customs won't be able to get everything ordered from china so some things I'll take a chance on. I do know someone that makes their own mechs too, a friend of my husbands, if it ever came down to it I could tap him for assistance. I do prefer a nice regulated device though, haven't yet had any experience with mechs.

...and I heard a rather amusing rumor about Rayon
That's come up a few times too. Wicking materials aren't high on my vapeapocalypse stock up list either, cotton facial pads and other wick materials have other uses than vape so they won't be hard to get.

Handy, as long as he has access to equipment.

He works for a small machine shop in Colorado. He does CAD/CAM, if that's still the proper term for it. He'd probably make me a really nice box mod for free if I asked him. In fact I'm sure he would, I just wouldn't impose as there are other options.

Me too, but I prefer having a nice stock of the stuff I love, especially mods and RTAs. I already make my own coils and juice :)

I agree. The most challenging to acquire would be nic and complicated electronics. The YouTube videos will show you how to get the safety features you want.

I'm completely stocked (over stocked :)) on RTAs and regulated mods that I love, as well as several mechs just in case. Majority was purchased on FT or in our classies for very reasonable prices.

I'm 1/2 way there on nic which I agree is a weak link for sure. I'll have that done by end of summer.

I'm probably 20% on flavors but this worries me the least as I also like NET and can always create NET juices if worst of worst. I don't see the flavors being banned as they were/are used in many household applications way before vaping.

Wire, wick, etc. doesn't worry me at all for same reason as above for flavors.

Tried it and it works well. Pleased. Never buying wicking material marketed for vaping again
OK, so I really haven't done much with rayon, but if I was going to, I'd buy from Sally's, way cheaper than the drug store option. Also avoids the following conversation if I run into someone I know in the drigstore
"Dude, what the heck are you buying tampons for?"
    "Ummm, my wife?"
    "Dude, you aren't married"
    "Ummm, my daughter?"
"Dude, she's 25 and married, and live 3 hours away"
"All right, fine, I'm buying 'em for vaping"

As a tootle puffer you'd probably be fine with a mech mod and a quality 18650 as I understand it.
Working with one doesn't particularly worry me, as I am definitely a TP and not pushing any limits. It's deciding on a device that won't cost me an arm and a leg but is still reliable and just going for it. I am notorious for buying the wrong thing in a haste. I don't want to make the same mistake on this one. I am expecting a bit of a windfall sometime this year, maybe next year (inheritance type stuff from my dad passing last year), and a couple mechs will be on my "time for a treat" list.

    What route?

I mean that you don't have to find one vendor that sells easy to put together kits. Everything you need can be purchased from electronics suppliers. The hardest thing to find would be the nice chipsets, and I think you'd probably want to make sure you got that from a reputable dealer. Still, as the banner suggests, you can buy devices listed as designed for other juice and just use those.

Just proudly carry them to the counter. If anyone asks start belting out, "I got a woman!" in a sing song voice. Or just glare at them until they look away. Either one works.

My dad is like kinda crazy paranoid and he kept a box of tampons in the trunk of the car because he read that was a good way triage bullet wounds

I'm not really interested in getting a mech mod. I have AIO MTL devices that work in a similar way and they have safeguards.
