Glad you and your family are OK.
Bodega Bay? Great place there.

We are further north. This is the view from our room (they had wi fi, I barely had cell service before).
We actually don't know if our house is okay. It was fine yesterday morning but fire has spread since then. It's nice breathing air with no smoke!
A heck of a way to get a vacation!

Seems while I was off wandering around in the real world for a few days, I missed a couple of significant anniversaries for two of my favorite ECFers. @Bea-FL and @DavidOck, congratulations. You were both important in my journey into vaping about a year and a half ago by offering answers and encouragement. Way to go!
Mr Studly what a nice thing to say :wub::wub:. I'm glad we were able to help you in some way. (((Hugs)))

And so glad to see you back. We miss you when you're gone :)
We are safe. Staying the rest of the week by the ocean in the fresh air.
I'll be back on next week. I hope everyone is well
So glad to hear from you and that you are all safe.

As said, good choice to go where the air is clean and the water is close!

@ChelsB We're in the Sierras and have your smoke if you want it back. ;) We again spent a week packed up with the car loaded for a waiting to evacuate. It's not fun and evacuation is even worse. :(

If you have the time, and especially if you have too much time to think about it, it's amazing how much junk you can stuff into a relatively small vehicle. I'm guessing you had little to no time and hope with everything I have that your home is unscathed in this incident.

What I wanted to tell you was that there was an incredible air show, former wildland firefighter here and that's the lingo for the aircraft activity over the fire(s), in that area today. They had the 747, DC-10s, C-130s and other "heavy" aircraft flying. There where numerous helicopters, smaller tankers, air attacks, lead planes (they lead the heavies in and show them where to drop), etc. flying.

This link will let you see the aircraft, not all of them, flying the fires. If you put the cursor over a plane or helicopter it will show its call number. If you click on it it will show its flight path and you will get a popup on the left side of the screen, usually with a picture of the aircraft, and other info on it. If, when you put the cursor on a aircraft, it says "no callsign," it's likely a firefighting aircraft. Best time to look at it is in the afternoon when the weather/smoke conditions are most favorable. Flightradar24.com - Live flight tracker!

Again, I sincerely hope for the best outcome for you and yours.

I'm hoping things get back to normal soon, ChelsB! Those "enforced vacations" are no fun. We had an extended "Tour de Tucson" during our house fire, and the adjuster (who was fantastic) even sent us to Sedona to recuperate, the problem being we were too worried and stressed to enjoy it! I think we stayed near Bell rock, stared at it a lot (I smoked heavily) and only left the resort for food each evening. :( We did ask if we could go at the END when the house was almost back to normal, but our adjuster said, "That's pushing it," LOL.

Really, we stayed in some nice places around Tucson, but I just found it horrifically disorienting and not fun at all. THOUGH, this one house we rented? It was some crazy new age lady who lived in Alaska and was a bit... odd. She decided to get into some sort of martial arts, and then produced a book of pictures and inspirational quotes about "the Way of the Sword." Only, the pictures were of her.... holding swords and stuff, and freaking.... slowly disrobing. Like, one pic you were like, "OMG, was that an involuntary nip slip????" and then in the next page she was topless with fishnets on, kind of thing. LOL. It was THE BEST THING ABOUT THAT HOUSE. My favorite part was at the end where she "Hoped she had done her Sensei justice," and I was like, "I guarantee he hasn't read that book, if he's still talking to her."

Oh it sounds fun and she'd had plastic surgery aplenty, but she must have been at least 60 in those pics, and there was lots of talk about "taking her womanhood back," and I was like, "OMG, TAKE IT BACK FOR REALS, HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!"

But, I did share that book with everyone who came by, LOL. My mother about DIED. So, it kind of worked out (if you have a personality like me). I mean, encountering that book was worth a LOT to me, given my situation at the time.

Hopefully, you can find something to cheer you up in your new surroundings, but maybe something a bit more family friendly, LOL.

Thank you for that info! Now that I'm settled in the beach house that my parents rented until Monday (they're under mandatory evacuation) and I have wi-fi, I can check out that link.
I sure miss tootling around in my room with my vaping stuff!
At least I have plenty of mods, chargers and ejuice!

So I guess my NaughtyX atomizers will fire up over 30 Watts. I had my mod in my pocket after work and ran for pizza on the way home. Apparently the +/- buttons got pressed in there. I took a few puffs off of the thing and it seemed funky and too warm. I glanced at the screen and thought, "Huh. I'm at 13 Watts and I just changed out the atomizer yesterday. What's going on with this thing?" After quite a few puffs my tired brain finally registered that I had my mod set at 31 Watts rather than 13. I am getting some awesome airflow out of this thing right now though. Maybe I should burn out my atomizers every once in a while.

For all the complaining I do about the USPS, they are showing on the news how they're wearing masks and delivering to any home with a mailbox, even if the home has burned to the ground!
Never doubt it, the USPS are professionals. I know of a mail carrier that rolled her vehicle, breaking her collarbone and slinging mail all over in the process. While EMS was on its way she was out in the cornfield securing The Mail and refused to let the ambulance take her to the hospital until her supervisor arrived to take charge of The Mail. This was not above and beyond, this was expected of her. It's the procedure they follow.
