Not conclusive but suggestive that they're sick:

If you always vape them under the same (or very similar) conditions and the "run time" falls off.

If the voltage changes more than a few hundredths of a volt an hour after you take them out of the charger, or falls off significantly overnight.

If they run or charge excessively hot. In relation to how you vape, of course.

Torn wrappers can be dangerous, but it's easy to rewrap.

@Trigster did you get your SXK Prime? Waiting to hear your thoughts.
Hi There...Sorry to be out of touch...Up to my eyeballs in research...I just got the SXK this morning and it's soaking...I'll be wick'in it up tomorrow and report back...The extension kit all seems in good order and appears to be well machined...We'll see how it goes...Trig :)

Also...Regarding Tobaccos...My hands down favorite flavor as a additive is TFA English Toffee...

Naw, probably playing with his trains.
Here's a shot you'll like...The tarnished under-loved artifact in the center is My Train Whistle...Some of you from the Golden State might remember 'The Nut Tree' just off I-80 in Vacaville...That whistle came from the gift/toy store back in the late 60's...Kind'a 1/2 amusement park as well with a Train that was also functional as one of the best forms of transportation to & from the Nut Tree Airport...Trig

For a moment, I was excitingly wondering if I could go visit a train museum that would of course have wintery train scenes for the holidays (I did that every year, back East).

But, then I remembered I'm in Tucson, no one here knows what a "winterland scene" looks like but also, trains and my enjoyment of them has been a bit ruined by the infinity number of trains crossing the town all over the place. They really just do go RIGHT through town. If you don't know you train schedules (I do) or get behind (that happens) well, you are going to staring at a freight train for about 15 minutes until you get moving again. :) Yes, it's kinda fun (the first couple hundred of times).

If I wanna watch trains, I go down to the train station, grab a cup of coffee and maybe a doughnut, and sit and watch the BNSF freights roll thru. If I want to watch UP freights I go to the overpass where they have their yard and watch UP freights roll by. Plenty of action here.

I keep a 3x5 card with my tanks listed in ink. (My KFls are in various colors, different color center sections, etc.) The flavor is noted in pencil for easy change.

I'd have to use a blackboard LOL

However I'm in favor of getting your money's worth out of the pesky lil' things.
When cells get little age they get limited to the devices that only pull an amp or two.
Also when I'm just sitting at my desk I really don't care if I only get half the vape time out of a cell, as long as the amperage is low enough.

I vape at such low wattages, it's probably a good idea for me to get a charger that will measure sag/voltage drop upon charging, at some point fairly soon as I really won't notice it until late in the game.

I think because an overstressed battery is a less safe battery, if I understand things correctly? It just seems like a good idea, really, given batteries are so inexpensive for what they do.... Or is it not a stressed battery until you really notice it, especially with batteries designed for low wattages?

I'm genuinely asking though... Because I'm not sure of the answer....

    Here's The Report...!!!

One small item 1st though...I've had this thought regarding the coil being to mobile on a Rod/Screwdriver and having to put my finger on it to keep it steady thus my finger interfering with being able to clearly see what I'm doing...Instead I cut an extra piece of wick and used that to hold the coil while mounting it...Worked like a charm and I was able to keep the screwdriver in constant contact with the screw as I was catching the lead...
    DSC00749.JPG DSC00753.JPG DSC00761.JPG

Coil & Wick on the 1st try no problem...Gently packed and tried the 'Inside Out" method of 1/2'ing the cotton and placing the outer layers on the inside...All seems to be going AOK...

I used one of the pre-made 1.3 SS coils I had and pulled a wrap out of it so it reads 1.0 +- ...Currently have it at 15w and it's quite nice...I think the over all flavor is comparable to the Siren 2 & T 22 but I've only been using it for about an hour...I've got the air at 2 dots and the JFC at about 3 turns...It might be slightly 'Airier' than the other 2 but a very nice tight MTL draw...As of now it seems to produce more vape and has a bit of a stronger nic hit to me...But then again I think we all hit a new tank a bit more than we normally would...

The thing I'm really loving is the capacity...So far so good on the leaks but that'll have to wait...Over all I got'a give this one a thumbs up...My T 22's / T 18's & The Siren 2 are all keepers and now I have another very viable useable tank on the roster...And a Drip Tip of your choosing goes without saying !!!

If I was buying another RTA today this would be my current 1st choice...If I buy another Siren 2 it'll have to be the 24mm higher capacity version...I am still hopeful that somebody is going to come out with a 22mm - 3ml version of that style tank...Now I've run short on mods...I can only make so many acquisitions...

Man Does Not Live By Vaping Alone !!!...My Latest Acquisition From Last Night...Bwhahahaha...All Mine :D !!!
3031a.jpg ...A Marklin 3031...I've Wanted One For Years...A Very Versatile Little Work Horse...'72-'74 era...

    I'll Be Lurking...Trig

...I almost forgot...@RainSong I did throw a little straight 50/50 on the threads and it made a noticeable difference in the JFC ease of movement...Thanks !!!

Yes, a battery that's been stressed for whatever reason (over discharged, run at too high an amp rating, etc) is less safe. And yes, as inexpensive as they are, if one has doubts and concerns it's best to replace it.

In most cases, a "lightly" stressed, i.e. aged but not abused, battery is fine to use at low power settings. Decreased run time (and/or significant voltage drop just sitting) is a good indicator, IF you consistently use it in the same fashion.

Normal use, i.e. within the parameters of the battery, will result in gradual degradation of the battery, and isn't what is normally called stress, so won't normally lead to catastrophic failure. Just decreased performance.
