Whelp, as of right now, my state doesn't include vaping in
any tobacco ordinances. With that said, private companies can require that you do not smoke or vape on the premises, including outside. I (briefly) worked in a hospital that you'd routinely see folks going over to skulk and smoke in the Safeway parking lot across the street as hospitals were all made non-smoking. I can't remember if they tested for nic, I don't believe so. They did test me for TB
three times. I got the vaccine as a kid in Europe, and always tested positive, but I guess that faded away, the first two times (they wouldn't just let me get a chest X-ray) the technician said my response was "too weak." I don't know why they made such a production about it, they would've been better off testing the nurses hands and scrubs for MRSA.
Were it not such a boring job (comparatively, I spent much of my life working in public mental health.... Things are really interesting there) I'm not sure it would have bothered me supremely, the pay was good enough to justify the purchase of nic lozenges and I was probably
healthier, except that the most exciting part of my day was crossing that 4 lane road everyday with no crossing area and the drivers.... I wasn't so much looking forward to
smoking (although I was) but if that was my biggest drama of the day? Well, to me, that wasn't much of a job.
I'm older now, I think I'd be really thrilled these days with like, a part time job at Walmart. I didn't realize how burnt out I was until I offered to come back part time, (knowing it was unlikely that would happen) and being so relieved at being turned down.
I gotta do something though or my bossy/informative streak (depends on who you talk to) will wind up overflowing in my family life, and that's usually Not Good.
I'd really like one of those, "Advice-- $2" booths, actually.
