I will! I’ve applied for approximately 25 jobs today. It’s still relevant after all (needing something stealthy) as several of the positions I’ve applied for ask if you’re willing to work in a tobacco-free environment (didn’t say nicotine free!)

"tobacco-free" environment??? Is that legal to ask people that? o_O

Does that mean it would be frowned on if they discovered you vaping outside?

Well I have enough Stuff for a couple of people to vape the rest of their lives  but I have cut way back on my vaping, and I am instead using Swedish Snus for my nicotine fix. I am only going through a couple of ml a week of juice, and I have a LOT, a liter+ of pre-made and 2 liters of 100mg/ml in the freezer. I just got tired of the hobby aspect, cleaning & rewicking coils, making coils, charging batteries every day, mixing juice, and on and on and on. I liked the simplicity of cigarettes, but did not want to go back to them, so Swedish Snus is my answer for now to get my nicotine. Everything I have read, Swedish Snus is on the same lines of safety as vaping (if not more safe, as there is no long term data on vaping, and 200 years worth of data on Swedish Snus), and there is no work or maintenance. I thought a lot of my habit was hand to mouth, but after I started using Swedish Snus I realized it was not, I just thought it was. I won't give up my vape gear or totally give up vaping, but I am just doing it a Lot less because of Swedish Snus. :)

I don't know about CA but in northern KY where I lived and worked before retiring to FL an employer could require that you do not smoke on the premises inside or out.

Burnie I'd never heard of this so googled it. It says it's a tobacco product but how is it different than snuff?

And, dear Sir, be sure you stick around here. Just because you vape so little these days doesn't mean you can leave us. We would miss you!

I’m not exactly sure of what it means. I suppose I should find out! I have a friend who works for an employment law firm, I’ll ask her to look into it. I’m curious too!

I bet local ordinances govern many of the particular rules. States are more generalized in their rules.

Speaking of local and State laws, they even differ on whether the propriety owner can have a property ordinance for their business. The term "public establishment" can be interpreted in different ways.

In a similar situation, there is a Supreme Court case, currently, as whether a private business has to serve every customer. Slightly different of a situation, but it still reflects the variances in laws, ordinances, and individual rights.

I would like to see the question, do smoking laws apply to vaping, make it to the Supreme Court. Many rules, ordinances, and laws lump them together.

I have been nicotine free for 25 months and my vaping went way down.

never vaped much over 4-5 ml a day. but now a fill up 2.5 ml does me a week or longer in the last 3 weeks.

Snuff OT smokeless tobacco is dangerous. it can lead to gum disease or mouth cancer.

I don't plan on leaving ECF :)
From Google:
The word "snuff" can also refer to dipping tobacco (also known as moist snuff), which is applied to the lower lip and the gums, rather than used nasally or placed under the upper lip. However snus, dry snuff, and dipping tobacco are distinct products.

Snuff OT smokeless tobacco is dangerous. it can lead to gum disease or mouth cancer.
From Google:
Unlike dip and chew, which contain higher levels of TSNAs resulting from the fermentation of the tobacco, snus doesn't present a risk of oral or other head cancers [source: Gartner et al.].

Like I said, I researched it, just like I did with vaping. I also am not using American Snus, which is different than Swedish Snus. You can always just google it. :)
This is a choice I made, not saying anyone else should do the same.

I think the US Government Required warning on one site is funny. :D
upload_2018-1-16_6-33-19.png

Sort of reminds me of the required warning on vaping.

@Burnie In the UK, the New Nicotine Alliance (which is a charity set up to improve public health by an understanding of new risk-reduced nicotine products, including vaping and snus, is supporting a case in the European Court of Justice aimed at overturning the Europe-wide (apart from Sweden) ban on snus. As you can see here, the hearing is next week !

Every time I see one of these charts I am so thankful I discovered vaping (which gave me a way to quit smoking) and ECF (which helped me make it work).

I'm with ya on the vaping. However, every time I see one of those charts, I think of pie... Lemon meringue... Pecan...

Sorry it took me so long to respond to these very special vapeaversaries! Have been a bit preoccupied at home.

3 Years smoke free today.

Who would of thunk i could even get past 3 days.

I think I will vape the same tank and juice I did on that day. I do that everyday anyway.

We share an anniversary! My 4 year anniversary since my last smoke is today! Never thought I could do it either. I was the last one in my group of friends and in my family to quit. I always thought I'd be a smoker for the rest of my life. Then...I gave vaping a try. Took me 2 months of dual using to switch, but I did it.

Many rules, ordinances, and laws lump them together.

Yep they do . . . Matter of fact, here in Florida the State legislation has included "e-cigarettes" and "vaping" in the wordage of bills when banning smoking in public places/housing (including malls - even outdoor open air shopping areas - including those places that have B&M Vape Shops) . . . :(

AND - This year they plan to make a few state constitutional amendments too - which I posted about back in November 2017 here:

Also - It should be noted that a majority of "Tobacco Free" Work Places, include banning E-cigs/Vaping even anywhere on their property - including in your vehicle (since you are parked on their property) . . . Worse they can also ask you to take certain medical test (supposedly for medical insurance, spot drug testing, etc) which will determine if you have ingested ANY Nicotine too . . . Just Sayin'. . . ;)

FYI: I posted a picture somewhere in another thread of the Sign that "E-Cigarettes need to be extinguished" painted on all the doors of a local shopping mall similar to this one from Hawaii . . .

California's vape regulations are simple;

As of June 2016, e-cigarettes are included in California's smoke free laws.
E-cigarette use is prohibited in places of employment, restaurants, schools of all levels, day care and healthcare facilities including the grounds of unless in a legally designated smoking area and many public outdoor spaces.
Communities ( towns & cities etc ) can have stronger e-cigarette laws, e.g. covering parks, beaches, bus stops, outdoor worksites, and so on.
E cig use is allowed wherever smoking is allowed.
Sale of e-cigarettes to persons under 21 is prohibited.

California has clearly defined laws on e-cigarette use in the California Business and Professional Code.
E -cigarettes are treated as tobacco cigarettes, meaning that vaping is banned wherever smoking is prohibited. It is assumed that ‘no smoking’ signage applies to both tobacco cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

Be aware many insurance providers also consider the presence of nicotine in ones system equivalent to tobacco use.
Meaning claim non smoker / non tobacco user status but have an elevated level of nicotine/cotinine in your system = tobacco user / smoker.

Whelp, as of right now, my state doesn't include vaping in any tobacco ordinances. With that said, private companies can require that you do not smoke or vape on the premises, including outside. I (briefly) worked in a hospital that you'd routinely see folks going over to skulk and smoke in the Safeway parking lot across the street as hospitals were all made non-smoking. I can't remember if they tested for nic, I don't believe so. They did test me for TB three times. I got the vaccine as a kid in Europe, and always tested positive, but I guess that faded away, the first two times (they wouldn't just let me get a chest X-ray) the technician said my response was "too weak." I don't know why they made such a production about it, they would've been better off testing the nurses hands and scrubs for MRSA.

Were it not such a boring job (comparatively, I spent much of my life working in public mental health.... Things are really interesting there) I'm not sure it would have bothered me supremely, the pay was good enough to justify the purchase of nic lozenges and I was probably healthier, except that the most exciting part of my day was crossing that 4 lane road everyday with no crossing area and the drivers.... I wasn't so much looking forward to smoking (although I was) but if that was my biggest drama of the day? Well, to me, that wasn't much of a job.

I'm older now, I think I'd be really thrilled these days with like, a part time job at Walmart. I didn't realize how burnt out I was until I offered to come back part time, (knowing it was unlikely that would happen) and being so relieved at being turned down. :)

I gotta do something though or my bossy/informative streak (depends on who you talk to) will wind up overflowing in my family life, and that's usually Not Good.

I'd really like one of those, "Advice-- $2" booths, actually. :)

15?...25? years ago when the hospital I worked at was "considering" passing NO-SMOKING rules...they set up a "Smoking Policy Committee"...

The representative our department (Emergency Medicine) sent to the Committee...was a NON-SMOKER...

(I figured, then, that things would rapidly go downhill [for us Smokers])...

After the hospital passed their Nazi level NO-SMOKING RULES...there would always be 2 distinct groups in the OUTSIDE break area...Smokers and Non-Smokers...

When I'd (occasionally) give up smoking...because of the Smoker's smell (clothes, breath, etc.) and the smoke itself...I'd switch to hanging-out with the Non-Smokers...

But...the Non-Smokers were such BORING people...I'd soon start smoking again (to "protect" myself from noticing the smells/smoke)...so that I could, once again, hang-out with the INTERESTING Smoking people...

so Swedish Snus is my answer for now to get my nicotine.

@Burnie ...would you happen to have any links handy for those of us who may want to buy/try Swedish Snus???

Of Course - not "Burnie" - however, here is a link to some information:

AND - To the General Snus website for info:

Also - If you sign-up at General Snus, you can locate different stores in your area where it is available (can purchase online too - "Google": Swedish Snus ) and they send you an email once a month so you can get coupons from a $1 off - up to $3 off at times for just signing in there every month too . . .

There are lots of places to purchase from, but most are in Sweden, and the shipping kills you ($25 to $35 and up). So far I have tried 47 different ones since December when I started using them (I have 2 more new ones on my current order that will get here in a day or 2). Out of them there are 23 that I can't stand, and only 7 that I really like. General is sold in some stores here in the US (try the mint), just not anywhere close to me, so my only option was to order from Sweden. First 3 orders were from snuscentral.com, current order is from snus24.com. If you can't find any place around there that sells General, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send you some samples. Don't bother with the Camel Snus, not worth wasting your money on.
