Study Finds Signs Of Bacteria And Fungi In Many Vaping Products
- The study's results concern findings at level of detection (LOD), far, far below what is considered harmful
- Brand names are not divulged and the method for defining the most common brands is left vague
- The presence of biochemical indicators was tested in juice (in and outside of cartridges), but not in vapor. Heat and oxidation have an impact on these indicators and it is relevant to know what is really being consumed.
All that aside, this is concerning but not surprising. The sector is both underregulated and not intelligently regulated. Pharma grade ingredients mean nothing if they're not combined, packed, transported, stored, sold and tested at all these stages to pharma standards.
