LOL! Yeah. That may be why I like it... ;) Dvarw's are definitely well regarded, but I can't speak to them (I gots none).

I know the Big Erl challenges (vaping them down).

Left to right; Big Erl, Li'l Erl, Dawg. :vapor:

That dawg has a nice look to it, short and stout, and packs a punch. And by slightly less than an Erl, do you mean flavor-wise? Looks like the chamber/chimney is bigger than the microscopic Erl chamber/chimney

For me, yes, but that's not necessarily indicative of what others may experience. @Katdarling , for example, finds it to be better with flavor than the Erl. This is typical, and why I almost never tell someone that they "must" try something, or that anything is the "best" (of any category).

For me, they're both excellent atties. The next person though might hate them both. Such is the reality (and beauty) of vape (as it exists today). :)

@DPLongo22 & @barkfunklerbunk . . .

OK - Explain yourselves . . . "Big Erl, Lil'l Erl, Dawg" . . . :?:

Seriously, even though it makes it simpler to use an acronym in a discussion between 2 people . . . FYI: No matter how often all these acronyms are used in a post and even as someone who has seen these acronyms many times before and had what they are explained to me . . . Once again - I Am Lost . . . o_O

Hey - Still Not a "Cloud Chaser" and sub-ohm'ing - Just a simple "MTL" w/1.5 ohms or better trying to make sure I stay informed . . .

BTW: Not happy with all these POD Systems being made for MTL , I want real MOD's w/tanks & 1.0 or better ohm coils coils back too . . . Matter of fact, got a few MOD's/Tanks that are Temperature control or use all these other type coils (Nickel/Titanium/etc.) that I'm getting rid of real soon . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Large Erlkonigin (5ml), small Erlkonigin (3ml?), Doggystyle clone. Those were the tanks in the picture I posted, from left to right.

Make sense now, Unc? :)

I'm drawn to the Erlkönigen because of its name. though the plural puzzles me.

Are you thinking in a poetic sense (or "Schubertian" maybe, for lack of a better term)? I don't know if there's any relationship, but I do recall an interview with the creator...

If you find answers, you must share them (please). I admit that I never actually watched too much of the vid (but I'm sure it's good).

Lazy, aye.

No explanation for the plural. I'll do some more digging.

I've barely begun studying building videos. Is it common to wick the coil and then throw in buffers below it? Or is that a peculiarity of the Erlkönigen?

P.S. I am irked that the smaller version isn't called the Erlprinzen.

My favorite baritone.

I build mine similar to @qorax , as his was the instruction Kat & I first followed (back when-before-when). "Four snips" (basically), and I can do it very quickly & easily these days.

Works like a charm, and tastes like perfection (to me).

I'm with you, Uncle. Right now vapin' at 8W on a Kabuki tank with a Nautilus 1.8 ohm head.

I do not understand this distinction between "MTL" and "DTL" (or, as I refer to them, "puffing" and "toking") tanks. My natural instinct, for some reason, when I first started vaping (about five years ago) was to toke on the thing. I soon found out that yes, some tanks can handle 3-9 second tokes, and some can't. Nothing by Smok can do that. Almost anything by Kanger can. Even Subtank Mini's and Nano's running 1.5 ohm coils at 9W.

So, to me at least, almost any tank is a "DTL" tank.

Do you follow this method with anything else? Or is it reserved for the Erlkönig (name fixed to bother me less)?

Wicking the Erl is a unique approach for me. I end up with two tiny little wisps of cotton that run down the channel. For everything else, I just cut it, stuff it, wet it, and vape it.

Not much thought to either, but definitely more thinking with the Erls (me).

I'm just looking for consistency in the naming, @Katdarling. I would prefer the names of both RTAs to be in the singular. The company, I assume, was founded by multiple elf kings, so the plural can stand.

Hear that, Austria?

Someone get Galadriel or Elrond on the phone*, and find out what the heck is going on with these krazy vape names.

~Frodo

* Did they have cell service in Middle-earth?
