Not sure where to put this information but I got hooked on the Serpent Mini because it has fantastic flavor at a very reasonable price. Ended up ordering 8 of them over the past couple of weeks from Gearbest for $16.31 and free shipping from China. This price is for the silver ones and their flash sale (16.31) is still on for the next 8 hours. Gearbest has extended this sale several times.
I wind all my coils with 28AWG KanthalA1 and had my share of frustration trapping the thinner wire behind the grub screw. I took one of those Gum brand between-the-teeth brushes with the green plastic bristles and placed the handle between the posts and over the air hole. It is a tight fit and you might want to gently shave the edge of the brush handle with a knife to get it to fit snuggly. Now when you install the coil, the edges of the Gum brush align the coil wire almost perfectly behind the grub screw.
Hope this was not too confusing.....I don't know how to post pictures or links.

This is brilliant! I leave my coil on the mandrel while setting the legs. That does work pretty well for me - but yes, if you don't catch the leg with the grub screw quite right, it will get wonky on you!

Rayonati sweetness is a great thing!!!

So, these Serpent's, are they my kind of vape???

You can wire them TP to modwomp. I run anywhere from 0.5 - 1.5, depending on how I build. Single coil. Easy deck (IMO), but you might want to wrap left-handed to get the legs to hit right. Madame Kat just got hers, and seems pleased.

Broken record - I reach for these tanks before about anything else now. They are smallish - 2-3ml, but you can dial down airflow if desired. I keep my AFC wide open, but use a more narrow-bore DT to channel flavor. Fasttech has them - less than $20USD. I got mine from VaporBeast, but if you don't mind waiting, FT is probably your best bet.

I am rocking a Velocity Mini on my Dripbox as well - rebuilt that lil debbil, and have been alternating all evening :)

I know that this has been covered before, but please tell me the benefits of rayon over cotton. Is the flavor better? Does it last longer? Is it easier to use? I seem to remember that you need to go through an entire tank to get a funky flavor out, is that true?

Speaking of flavor, I foolishly got sucked into a hot mess last night! Complaints about lack of flavor, money is tight, everything was fine, then not, now on a quest to sub ohm? They quit making her juice in 60/40, now it's 30/70. But sub ohm and more vg will make it all better!
Some days it it's not worth the bother!
Anyway, I found faux leather covers for the Cuboid for $3! For $3 I might get two! Depending on how much I like it, one for home to get trashed, another to look nice the few times I venture out?
I know I said nekid, but for $3, meh, why not?

Flavor is "cleaner". Also, I believe it can last a little longer, and is less likely to singe. You have to pack it much more tightly than you would for cotton.

For me, one or two hits, and I'm smooth sailing. Box from a Beauty Supply company could last you a lifetime (for about $10-12) I bought a pack of Shisedo cotton from Macys a couple of years ago. I still have about 3/4 of that

I've sweet-talked my hairdresser into supplying me with a few feet at a time of the rayon. It rinses VERY clean, but if you're rinsing, you're probably ready to rebuild anyway?

I DO!!!! I like very much!

I will tell you that it was a bugger and three-quarters trying to get the coil installed. Who KNEW you had to go all backwards on the winding!!!!! That wasn't a big deal, but getting 28 to stay pressed up against the wall with those little cone shaped grubby screws...... that was a FEAT! Like as in 20 toes, my dear!!!

I agonized over it til sweat was falling like the unknown thing called rain. (Kali. Dry. Drought. Yuck.) Finally, I figured it out.

WHEW! Thankfully, or dare I say hopefully, that coil will last thru 2026!!!

She's vaping quite sweetly, and so I will give her a .
Serpent mini is a good one. I dont even close the air down to top fill. I just pop the top and filler up with no issues.

I imagine that 28g was a little hard to trap in there since its so thin. I have a clapton in mine and that was bad enough but luckily I wrap the right direction normally so that part was ok.

Yup will suit you just fine. Can be airy or not and plenty of room for a clapton or whatever you want.

I'd recommend trying it, Pokes (possibly on any Sunday afternoon since I don't believe either one of US will be busy for the next 12 or so...).

Like everything vape, nothing is universal. My taste buds didn't take to it as well as many others do, and I ended up going back to cotton, which I greatly enjoy. But Kat, like MANY, have the exact opposite experience.

It's worth trying, and I'd highly recommend it. Vape what you love most, regardless... :vapor:

Rayon tasted funny to me and I quickly went back to cotton. The plain ole Japanese pads work the best for me and are the easiest to work with.

EEENteressing. Would love a pic when and if you can do.

Madama Katalac does indeed like the Snakish tank! In fact, (and please, David D'ock, check the time stamp for goodness sake - you know, timezones and all ;) ) I have just refilled the teensy little vial. I like it, and no leaks or weeps in site, so far!

See Video below! ;)

Here you go Dahling!!

BRAVO, caro!!

Many will give you the lists of benefits over cottone, pokes. HOWEVER, it really is just a matter of that subjective thing. I happen to have boarded the rayonati train awhile back and it's been a smooth ride ever since.

I will tell you that rayon is less fussy than cottone in some ways, yet much MORE fussy in other ways. The trimming, for example, can be anywhere from a box cutter blunt to a Rodin opus. But it's fun. :D

The rayone TRANSPORTS vliquid (very well). Cottone ABSORBS vliquid (very well). One chooses their needs. With cottone and its expansion, one uses less as it swells. Rayone, on the other hand, shrinks a bit, so mo' is bettah.

Rayone does taste a bit cleaner to me. All wicking seems to take some time to break in, which is why I've been using the "wet burn" method for awhile now. Rayone has definitely lasted thru many more ml. than my former cottone wicks. That said, it's pretty much a piece o' cake to wick a coil with either, so I doubt that's a huge selling point.

Rayone does not seem to burn or singe at all. You can vape it down to the most minuscule of droplets left in it, and still, no burnt or dry hits will ensue.

It's fluffy, and flyaway. Much like a bad hair day. I relate to it, and it relates to me.

All in all, were I to advise? I'd definitely recommend trying all wickings and see whatcha like. See where you land, sweetie.
