No matter what I do, I can't get the big snake to either wick right, or to not leak. Do you have any suggestions?

I haven't had any leaking. When I fill I close the juice and air flow. After filling and get the top cap on, I turn it upside down and then open the juice control about 1 1/2 - 2 turns. I then open the air flow and then turn it right side up. I give the wick a mullet cut and cut it to the bottom of the juice well.
Here are a few pics.

The first is when the cotton is dry. This was the first time I built it.

These 2 are of my current build in it.

Hope this helps you poke. If not let me know and we'll work on it. :)

Thanks LJF, the full size Serpent might be just right with it's larger capacity. I pondered the Conqueror and didn't like the dual coil only, that deck looks like it could be great to build on though.

No problem Troll. It's a nice little tank. You'll still go through a ton of juice but it's an easy fill. Air flow is good with a slight restriction. Flavor is good as well.

Edit: You can close it down and get a nice MTL as well.

Except, of course, the EA is a mech. Problem solved? ;)

That was my exact problem. I wanted SO MUCH to like it. :-(

I'm tubed-out now though. If this one was shorter, like a Dani, I may have considered it. But we stocked up on cheapie Provis back when they were all $30. Those are our "mechs".

There are people in my family who should never possess a mechanical mod, lest you be reading about them in the news one day.

Tempting this one was, but it's longer than a Provi so it probably wouldn't get much play. Save the cashola.

Ever use a Lambo Mini/Mvari/MyGo 4?
Those were nice, believe the Lavatube was the same mod as-well...

LOL!!!!

An Edge is due to arrive here today. It WOULD have been the Note7 (I love the 4!), but I decided to pass on the free & extra carbon.

I remember them, Mikey, and I had a variation. It was my first VV, back at the turn of 2011/12. I forgot the name of mine, but it was the name of the actual manufacturer (Long Rider or something?). Sir Gormly of DV sold them in that version.

I liked it, but I didn't like that it auto-cropped the power, in accordance with the amp limit. You could only get so high, but it didn't actually STOP you from vaping. Kept pushing that dang thing up, but it didn't go anywhere! NEVER a good thing, y'know :blush:

Okay, so both the subtank mini rba (the original, I don't have the rba for the toptank) and the protank coils work in the Serpent Sub.

The rba section is bigger than the occ coils so I fear that the 2ml capacity will be even less. The protank coil takes up little to no mass, it can probably hold a lot more liquid than in its usually form.

Also, I am a fan of these shorter tanks. With top fill I don't mind that they hold less liquid. The flavor on this tank is far better than the flavor on the subtanks, IMHO. But, this thing has air flow. I'm not sure if even totally closed that you could get a true TP drag from this little guy. The draw is very similar to the serpent mini. If you are happy with that draw, you will be okay with this one.

Pokémon, I just fit the RBA that came with the Subtank mini.....and it works in the Toptank.
Good to know the Protank 2 coils fit too. Thank you. We're on a roll, kiddo! Ha! Now, for restricting the air flow. Perhaps using the Kanger OCC coils or the ProTank coils will help reduce the flow just by their different construction? Even though I like an airier draw, I do like a bit of restriction.

Am using right now the ProTank coil (1.5 ohm) in the STM and mostly set it on the largest hole before the "slot". Sometimes I do use part of the slot too. When filling the STM I use a plastic straw cut down to around 3" and slit all the way down the side so I can squish it to make it smaller to fit in the air shaft. Turn it upside down and fill to near the top (the straw prevents juice from running down the shaft). Take the base with your installed PT 2 with the silicone cup upside down and slid near to the top. Push the straw down with the PT 2 coil and screw the base on. Suppose to not overfill but I do when using the PT 2 or the Aspire Replacement coils with no problems.

Since the Toptank has access through the top you don't have to mess with a straw when using the PT2 or the Aspire Replacement coils.......They do leave more room for juice. :thumb:

Now it's bugging me (the name).

@pufZeppelin , do you remember what Eric sold as his version of the Lavatube? Something "Rider"...

Age & memory. Good concepts, for sure.

Dunno, DPL. There WAS an atty named the L-Rider...... any bells ring-a- dingin' ?
