Besides, I think members staggered their buying so that not all of their nic was the same age. If you are preparing for the long haul you don't want all of your nic to possibly go bad at one time. Plus I also think we went where they were having sales too.

Now you are correct that one Monster V3 that WILL NOT work with Kayfun pieces because it needs a wider barrel.
Here is the base you are thinking of.

For a while 528 Customs made their own bases that was a 1:1 clone of the standard Kayfun. Then with Version 3 they went their own way or Svoemesto sued them and they made the barrel about 1-1.5 mm wider than tge standard Kayfun barrel

That is two pieces. The bottom part is a cyllinder. I call it the barrel. It goes around the deck.
The conical part on top is the Nano chimney.
Unfortunately all of FT's single barrels are sold out. FT calls these cyllinder parts "grafix tubes".
