Hey, don't bash 'em!

Yes, the first release of them had some problems - with the charging board. At the time they were quick to admit and fix the problem. I have a couple of the second batch that have been working fine since day one, and are over 2 years old - but then again, equipped for on-board charging or not, I only charge in a stand-alone charger. (Faster, and for me, more convenient ;) )

That they (Cloupor) were so quick to admit the problem gave them some points in my book. So often a manufacturer will go the cover-up route...

Much like the istick 50W mods that caught on fire while charging with internal batteries. I have one of the first lot that came out and have never had a problem with it. My son is still using it...knock on wood...

Um, well, I do have mechs (and kicks and fuses) in my stash box for the vapocalypse and for when my many regulated mods eventually die (although the way I've prepped, that will be MANY years unless we're hit with an EMP).

But I disagree on your comments about mech users. Many like the simplicity and reliability of no electronics. No chips to fail, no screens to die. Just build to where it's a good vape in the middle of the battery voltage range, suffer some hot hits until a fresh battery drops its volts a bit... ;) Add in the type of regulation used in some (mostly older) mods, and the pure DC voltage of a mech could give a smoother heat to the coil. Several reasons other than pushing the envelope for using a mech.

If it were just mech users who went for huge clouds, would there be 200 watt regulated devices? And any of those, with a 0.01 build and 5 amp batteries could be a bomb just as well... maybe not as likely, but.... stuff happens. Used to be some regulated mods didn't even have reverse polarity protection, so inserting the battery backwards would fry the device.
i'm not grumblig about mechs when there's a kick in the tube but then they aren't really mechanical any more. Relying completely on regulated mods for the stockpile does have potential complications. Will the fiire buttons tolerate 2 years of continuous service? Can the 510 threading be preserved for 2 years of full time use? Will I be able to find replacement magnets for my VTwo minis? And, if the oled screens start dying enmass, even on the shelf, will generic replacements be available? I get all that. I'm stocking Picos and VTwo minis never the less. 10 mods should go 10 years. I'm counting on 10 years, hoping for 20.

I sort of regret the cloud chasing trend. On the other hand they'll be the most ...... off if governments crack down.

That short Kayfun still working for you?
It is, but the faint whistle has been annoying me... I have another base that I'm going to smooth out the air inlet and try to eliminate the whistle.

It seems to be gunking up my wick too quickly (compared to a friend who vapes a KFL+ with the same juice)... time to try a different coil build. I think I might be running this one too hot (1.5 ohm, ~7 wraps of 28ga on 3mm dia).

I didn't get updates for a while. When i finally found this thread was 108 messages behind.
Did I miss another rapture or something? This thread has barely moved in 24 hours.

Loosen tge airflow a bit. That may kill the whistle.

I wasn't bashing Cloupor, just saying that even regulated mods can cause issues.

Funny how Cloupor has fallen so far off the radar, they used to be a big player back in the day. I think if they came out with a 150+ watt mod today, it would not be well received or trusted.

My old Sigelei Mini 30W is still working great as well as two Hana DNA30 boxes, they don't get much use these days though. ;)
