Ok, the scenario:
You come home and ALL your vape is gone! You can only buy one vape... What would YOU buy?
Another Hex Ohm 2.1. I now have 2, & tootle puff for 3 days per set of batts on KF's at 1.5 ohms. And still have plenty of charge on the batts! They have a sale on the red, blue, & zombie green so I grabbed a red one.

So, i think I figured out why my Praxis mech mod doesn't work very well, if at all.

The bottoms of all my 18650s are dented, from the heavy duty spring in my ZMax. The fact that these are the batteries I got with my first ZMax, some three years ago, probably doesn't help. And, I'm so cheap that I can't bring myself to buy new batteries since these still, technically, work.

In all seriousness if they are that old and dented I would consider some new ones. Better a few bucks on new batts then a few thousand on new teeth!

True, I may be a bit lacking on my battery knowledge, is there a risk of exploding due to age?
Yes. Not to mention the fact that they are dented.

It is less than $20 to buy 2 quality batteries. Why risk being in some rag newspaper or on tv because an e-cigarette exploded? Don't add fuel to the media's attempt to demonize vaping. Be safe.

I'm sure the guy who made it on every morning news show (for his pocket blowing out when he put a battery in the pocket w/change & keys) never thought it would happen to him.

Buy new batteries and throw the old dented ones out!!

My theory is that I like to err on the safe side. I'm not a battery expert in any sense of the word. I would think that a battery in that age and condition is has deteriorated. I would guess that your not getting the voltage or life that you once did. I mark my batteries with the date that I put them in service and keep an eye on them. When they get around a year old I check them with a volt meter after I charge them to see if they are holding the right charge. If they have weakened I get rid of them. Again will the explode? I personally couldn't say, but I don't want to find out. If you fell comfortable using them then who am I to tell you otherwise. Just my :2c:. I'm sure that there are others with more knowledge that could chime in.

All I have to test these batteries is the ZMax, and they always come out at 4.2v after charge.

What is proper disposal anyways? Other than these EFests I have a few old eGos that are also toast. Normal batteries I just pitch in the garbage...

Check with your local recycling. Typically not good to trash. I have a recycling place that takes things like lawn mower batteries as well as electronic device batts. Even get a few pennies for them to boot

I think you could get rid of them at the Lowes or Home Depot.

This is where I buy my batteries from. They test all their batteries and their prices are pretty good as well. They are not that far from you in Pennslyvania. I use the Sony VTC5, Samsung 25R and LG HG2.
