I used to run a DX-60 & HG-10 back in the day. I'd play on the 10 meter driving the CB'ers crazy, they all thought they were talking to skip when I changed the output power up and down... :w00t:

Not my rig but I had one just like it minus the HR-10 Receiver.

I knew a guy who used to monkey around on the Toronto air traffic control frequency. I'm amazed he never ended up in jail... o_O
I dont have any HF equipment anymore, but I loved 10meters and 6 meters when the band opened up!! 20meters is always a great one for Distance. :thumb:

Yeah, I use to mess with CBers too lol

Sorry my dear Ding, I have not jumped onto the KF Mini V3 bandwagon.

The 2ml's never really tempted me and the 3.5ml one is 24mm and looks huge. If I want a massive atty then the Big German (Inga) or my 10ml KFL comes into play. :D It is supposed to be a great tank from all the reviews and a 19mm version would be sweet sitting on the Micro Volt. The GEM with it's 5ml tank sits very nicely on the Mini Volt for now. I have to fill it too often, so were back to that 2ml's again. ;)

A KF Mini V3 on the Nugget might be a very nice TC choice...

I imagine @ccwaters has one or both or all of them, and probably had them for a quite a while. Maybe he'll pop in here and give you a yay or nay on the KF Mini V3 versions. ;)

Sorry I could not be more informative, I will be loosing my Master status rating before too long. :(

Sorry for the way late reply! Kayfun Mini 3 is a great little atomizer, get one, I've had the 316L version from FT for a while now, pretty much a perfect clone, stupid easy to wick, I'm strictly lung hits, and with the AFC grub out it does a pretty fair job of restricted lung hits.

Besides not being fussy at all about wicking I find it a really easy build, I've had no trouble trapping 26/32 clapton, and triple twisted 28 on it, plenty of room for 3mm coil. Wicks 90VG just fine so it is good with just about any viscosity.

Do yourself a favor, buy on of the cheap 316L from FT, don't think you'll regret it. 2ml capacity is not really that bad since it is pretty easy on consumption. Takes longer to go through 2ml on it then it does 7 in my Boreas.

Add all that to pretty much rock solid resistance for TC and it is a winner.

Speaking of Winner, my Nugget(not a winner) died after 3 days, still waiting on a replacement but not overly thrilled with it, though it seemed OK while it lasted.

And for all you Evolv fans out here, I picked up a Hana one mod Single 18650, quite tiny and light. It does feel a bit cheap in the hand very light at about 85 grams with battery. Even though its all plastic it seems OK, fairly solid, time will tell I guess. I was looking for something cheap for a friend, it fits the bill, authentic DNA 40 Big Screen. 510 connector seems good and solid, $19.99 shipped via priority mail to my door. Also includes clam shell case, charge cable, and a Hana vape band.

They have dual 18650 option for an extra $10, for the price it seems like a winner. The blue is only color available for $19.99, other colors are an extra ten.

Chip alone is easily worth the price, ended up buying two for myself.

No pictures on the website but this is what you get for $20

@ccwaters - Woot! Thanks for the KF Mini V3 feedback. That's what I was hoping to hear. I was so tickled to get the Mini 2.1s running without too much fuss (after I FINALLY got the first one coiled and wicked....) I'm ready to start a 3rd tankful on one and a 2nd tankful on the other. The latter is an SS build, and I thought I noticed a couple of "less-than-flavorful" hits, but I was still watching bubbles rise, so I felt pretty good about juice flow.

One thing (that seemed to be a FIRST with these beasties) was that the base of the tank never got warm, and the juice didn't discolor from singeing. THAT was pretty tell-tale proof that I was actually "doing it right". Since I'm ready for refills, I think I'm going to play with thicker juice, and see if I can find that "spot" that is still thin enough to wick properly.....

Now awaiting shipping notification on the V3 Minis and then "The Wait" :)

Missyn take the base & hold it uo toward a light. You should be able to see through the airhole and see a round speck of light through the opposite airhole. If you can't see the light, or if it's not perfectly round, then you airflow is closed off. There is a way to fix it but I can walk you through that tomorrow. Once it' adjusted you'll never have to do it again.

My 2 new ones must have the airflow closed, no light. Please walk me through adjusting? I am so impatient to get these going! Thanks!

Hello All....
It's been a while since I've posted here, health issues did arise.I did have an inner ear infection. It turned out to be a bit more than that though.I fainted a few more times and decided to go to the ER,well long story short I had a total heart block, got rushed to the bigger city hospital by ambulance and within a day ended up getting a pacemaker.Scared the Begeezies out of me.Slowly getting back into the swing of things, although I'm not allowed to basically do anything for 4 to 6 weeks.

I did keep up with this thread though, but never did signin so apologies for not liking a bunch of the posts, cuz there's lots to be liked here.

Thanks for this thread Kat and all who post in it,Great bunch of Ladies & Gents!

I'm still vaping but at a reduced rate,The doctor asked if I smoked,I told him no I use an electric cigarette....and have gone from 24mg nic to 4mg,he never told me to stop.
Oh SNM, you've had quite the fright! I'm so sorry.
Hopefully the pacemaker will do the trick and get you well on your way. My mom is on her 3rd pacemaker and doing well. She just turned 91!
Good to see you again. Take good care.

And So am I EM48AR
I came by here since I was tootling a 0.95 ohm coil, And Thought I would pull up a seat.

Please make yourself at home!
I'm still just a Tech, I had an Icom IC-706, old model, I listened and played with it some, went to a couple of HAM fests, but just never really got into it, and the cost of everything didn't help! I'm just 2m and 70cm anymore. Yeasu 50w 2m in the truck and a Kenwood 50w 2m 440 in the garage with a VX7R that I still need to get the Kenwood happy doing cross band with. Maybe one day, after we move, I may get into it more.

Anyway, I got my new to me Chalice III clone today, from a GREAT member I met elsewhere on ECF and been playing with it on my Dripbox. It's a bear to build, but a flavor beast for sure. I'll get pics up after I mow the yard, I know, I'm teasing again, sorry!

All I have these days are a Kenwood TH-22AT 2m Handheld and Baofeng Handheld 2m-440Mhz lol
My father had TONS of equipment that he sold off, but my favorite was our Yaesu FT-100D in the SUV with the Yaesu ATAS-120 Auto Tuning Antenna! I used to be on the road a lot so I got to talk to A LOT of people in many places with that setup!

The prices these days are whats keeping me from getting another and building back my collection.. :(

I'm also just a Tech, but with the band limits(Latest Changes) I'm good for now! :D

Edit* Cross-Band is a GREAT feature!! :thumb:

Idk where in NY you are but do you ever talk to Bruce, KC2YEJ?
No, not in my log... Been a ham since 81 and mainly operate QRP CW and PSK31 now. Got my Extra way back when you needed to pass the 20wpm CW test lol...

I live in an apartment now and have an indoor loop HF antenna that I use with my FLEX-1500 software defined radio. Other than that, some local repeater stuff and weak signal 2m/70cm stuff...
