Vape stash question for the experts on here.

Should I run my backup stash mods and batteries in a gentle rotation, Planning on using for 1 battery charge then rotate. Would this be good for the batteries.

Internal battery mods? If for long term, it's said to be "best" if stored below full charge. (Well, true for all Lithium types.) So maybe run them down to around 3.6 and don't recharge for storage.

If for just a few weeks or so, no issue I know of about charging or not.

But if using them periodically gives you peace of mind, go for it! ;)

@pufZeppelin @Shawn Hoefer @corn flakes
Thank-you, thank-you and thank-you for all your suggestions! I have some reading to do. Very much appreciated.
Oh! And @DingerCPA I've tried vapecrawler in the past but I can't get on it. The screen "flips back and forth" (???). Odd.

Cheers

It is more for 18650's and replaceable battery mods.

My internal battery mods I run on a weekly rotation VV3 and VV4. I run 4 a week and swap out weekly. They will get a weeks use every month and I store them about 3.7v

Iv stored 18650s at the 3.6V charge they arrive new with for over a year and charged them right up with no problems or performance drop off. I believe Mooch posted a blog on Storing 18650s but im on my phone so cant pull it up. You should be just fine though! :thumb:

Whew thanks for that, I managed to get that removed from the shipment.
Shinyitis must have got the best of me... :D

For money invested I think you could do better then a Pico, I have the original more expensive version listed on FT, as I said it is OK. Clone VS authentic, according to the Authentics FB page the easiest way of telling clone from authentic is the "screws are lower quality". Really cant imagine the love people have for this thing. Vapes OK, interesting but flawed design, would be much better with a stainless chimney/chamber. I figured it would be a little fiddly, thought it would be better on the flavor then it is. If you want one get the slightly more expensive one, it is actually pretty decent using the CLR rebuildable heads.

It is a great tank other than the issues I posted about. Like any clone from FT, you sometimes have to do a little engineering or modifying...

No Dremel required with this one.

Really the only issue is the 510 pin, and it is not that bad, best solution is easily KF4 510 pin and a grommet. It can be used as is, If anyone needs a KF4 pin for one I have a few extras, just hit me up for a freebie. Even though I don't use mine much anymore I personally rate it in my top 10 for flavor, and is a tank I won't part with.

I need to go over to 3F and see if anything falls into my cart! New SQuape would be nice! :thumb::lol:

I'm waiting on feedback, but historically speaking the Squapes have been a huge hit/miss for clones. Blindly purchasing I would be much more comfortable with the Shenray Focalecig has. Shiny stuff is hard to resist I know to well, so far I've held off, if no feedback in the next couple weeks I'll be flipping for a Shenray.

If your talking batteries I wouldn't worry too much on having a huge stash of them, it is one thing the FDA will certainly lose trying to regulate, way too many non vaping related uses for 18xxx batteries. I have a half dozen flashlights which require high drain 18650s.

Also have a look at this one, it is most likely the better version.
focalecig.com - Dream style 4ml RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer by ShenRay - Silver

That is the one I will be grabbing, Doris just posted on the Focal FB page a picture of the first shipment hopefully we will see some feedback in the next couple weeks on them.

Out of curiosity I have a question for Kayfun coil rollers...
How do you mount your coil,at a 45 degree angle or straight acoss the air hole? Why do you mount the coil the way you do?

I normally do mine straight across. This morning for a switch I made a coil and mounted it at 45 degrees.
Other than it was a bit harder to mount It's a bit early for me to notice if there's a difference yet.

Thanks!

I've tried all ways and honestly, didn't notice a difference either way. So anymore, I just stick the thing in the way IT wants to go in and don't fight it anymore!

Protank 2 was one of my favorite devices; it was my best friend for a long time. Problem is the bases. The original base has a bit of a dent in the 510 threading and seems to short out on something. I've gotten a few AFC bases but these also die after awhile; I'm not sure what the deal is but it may be the 510 connector's insulator failed.

Uh, sort of in between?

Usually closer to straighter across, but not real picky. Don't notice any difference, other than a very slightly lower resistance if at 45, due to very slightly shorter leg length.

Depends on how/what you wick it with. Biggest advantage to angled coil is seen by those that still use silica or ceramic wick, gives more room to place the silica, some also prefer leaving the cotton tails longer and making a sort of "S" wick. Personally I've always pretty much just used the cross pattern.

electronicstix has evods for 1.50 I think. Might have spelled electronicstix wrong?
I'm heading to Portland next week. Might have to check out some B&M's while there :) Although, I'm a little anxious about declaring at the border on the way home.

I swapped it out for an Authentic Boreas, I figured I should have one of those to go with the Merlin. A little support for Audrey, even though she sees none of the money.

I need another juice burner, so the Boreas was a good choice. :D
