Here are my "dunce" questions. I have a kayfun v2.1 which I love. This last time that I built it, the vape is really harsh. Does that mean that my coil is in the wrong place or that my wicking is wrong. It has never been harsh before.

Also, I have a v4 that I bought and have never used. I tried to unscrew the 510 pin so I could get to the airflow controller and now, I can't get the 510 screw to go back in. Did I break something. I've tried for hours and the sucker will not go. I really want to use the v4 because I am really tired of not having top fill. (I'm becoming a true lazy vaper). The v4 has top fill the v2.1 does not. I tried buying the top fill caps for the v2 but when I go to fill all of the liquid comes out of the airflow hole, so I thought I would just go to the V4. Hmmm.

I have the mini v3, but it is only 19mm and I like the look of the 22mm (and the juice capacity) better. Any suggestions? I feel like such a dufus. Sigh.

May have had the coil too low, Pokes.

Also, any of the KFs can be top filled, not just the ones with the aftermarket cap.

Once the top is off, cover any air intakes with appropriately placed fingers. Fill. Start the top cap on. When it's a thread or so on, invert the KF and finish tightening the top, then return to upright portion and take a draw or so to re-establish the vacuum.

While I don't refill my v2s, that is how i fill my 3.1s.

Not sure what's going on with your V4. Maybe the insulator is a bit off kilter?

I'll try that. Right now I'm using the polycarb tank, so threading is always a bit iffy, maybe I'll change to the insert so I'm threading into metal for that.

Thanks. I'll look at the insulator too.

Hi again Pokes!

I use David's method for filling my 2.1 or my 3.1ES. don't have a 4 so I can't offer suggestions. I have two V3 minis and one V3 mini plus. It's a much fatter tank, 24-ish mm. But works just like the other V3s.

Truthfully, I prefer the 19mm versions (they are Tobecos from VapeNW, and the plus is from FT.)

But I am running the Plus with an SS coil in TC mode, and I'm not displeased.

(And yes, I'm stalking you  )

I looked at the v3 "giant" because I like the v3 minis, but unfortunately, I don't have a single mod that takes a 24 mm tank.

Seems silly, to buy a mod just to fit a tank, and a rx200 seems silly for a Kayfun. Any suggestions?

Get spares of those M5s :)

I have some with the full M5 poly, but most of mine I have set up with just the clear center section, so the top is metal to metal threads. And I can still check my juice level.

I'm running on my eVic VTC Mini right now. There's a little bit of overhang, but it's not aesthetically displeasing. It's the ring where the airflow holes are - that's what's sticking out

I am certainly planning on trying this one on the RX200 - I wouldn't have to charge batteries for a week

I've been looking for more of the clear or smoke colored M5 tanks but all I can find are the colored combinations h I don't like colored tanks.
I need to find more fill hole, chimney, & large orings, too. I have no idea what size they are. I've found a few tanks, & a few large orings here & there & grabbed them, but I'd like to get quantities. Knowing the oring sizes would help.

Your coil should have about a 2mm or a bit less space below it. How are you wicking it? Juice holes might be blocked. Also, when filling it, only fill it below 1/2 way up the the chimney base. When you turn it right side up that will give you the air space you need at the top for vacuum & juice flow. You need about 1/4" space at the top.

I need to take it apart and see, but I hate wasting the juice. Was thinking of trying to vape it down and then check, but I don't think that I can. Thanks, I'll check.

You can get the juice out with a syringe & needle.
Try taking a really strong draw to see if a bubble comes up.

I do get a bubble, it is wicking fine, it's just harsh and has a MUCH stronger throat hit than I am used to.

I'll break out the syringe, haven't used one since I found unicorn bottles.

Thanks Kenna!

Hubby uses Vaporesso tanks with ccell coils so I got a couple of the melo 3 tanks along with the RBA's. They are a perfect alternative tank for him and I am just waiting for the premade ceramic coils and I will attempt to replicate what he has in the ccell coils.
Yeah... I like the Melo RBA, and the eGo ONE CLR heads. The iSub RBA is peetty good, too. Not a fan of coil heads I cannot tweak after the build, and those that use microscopic screws. The Triton RBA is the worst, and the Cubis RBA is not far behind.

Just unscrew the top of the KFM 2.1 and pour out the juice into the top of the unicorn bottle, after you take the tip off.

I hated filling the KFM 2.1, always had to blow through it and run a twisted up piece of paper towel down the chimney to get out the excess juice.

If going that route, be sure to keep the air intake(s) covered until you upend it. Otherwise, keep a lot a vaper towels handy! Once you break the seal, it will leak down the intake.

I did manage to get it down to a science, but the 2.1 doesn't see much use these days and I have been spoiled by properly working top fill RTAs such as the GEM.

I also couldn't stand the 2.1's snotty nose gurgling it used to do until the air way was clear. :glare:

Had to think about that a bit, as I rarely have that problem.

I generally vape 'em pretty close to empty, then take them off the mod and lay sideways for a bit before refilling. Probably lets any "extra" juice in the vapor chamber drain out to the tank.

Of course, condensation in the chimney and tip area can still be there, and if so, I'll swab out the tip fitting and run a pipe cleaner down the chimney itself and through the tip. (Then snip off the end of the pipe cleaner, and keep using it until it's too short! Waste no, want not! )

@pokemom

just a thought:
the new coolfire4-TC 18650, is like 25.2mm, my subtank PLUS (25mm) fits on there with room to spare
a pretty cool compact single 18650
only had it a day but seems very INNOKIN type device ;)

eg; - Innokin Cool fire IV 75W 18650 Temperature Control Express - White
