@Katdarling - I don't know of a single device that would fire anything up to 30 Ohms! I should try it though and see! 36AWG N80 Wire - wrapped 20 times on a 1/8th drill bit! WOOT WOOT!

A mech made out of a car battery should be good to go.

haha, if you used Ni200 that would be 335 wraps { 3.5mm ID / 36g / 30.0Ω }

@Eskie - this is true. However, I don't believe a super high resistance would draw too much from my battery. So I wouldn't know whether or not it's be wise to fire a 30 Ohm resistor off my 26650 mechs would hurt too much.

Bad news fellas - in order to get my coil to 30 Ohms at the 20 wrap phase - I would need to use a 7/32 drill bit. everything else is 21+ wraps (1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 11/64, and 3/16)

Oh, not to mention - just pulled up steam engine... for a 30 Ohm coil on my battery - the total draw is:

3.7V
.12A
.46W

and at the MAX voltage output:

4.2V
.14A
.59W

Battery life for YEARS!

It gets warm, but thats about it - I pulled a bit through the other negative - making it effectively "approx" 15 Ohms.

The box is the right size to have 10 18650s in it.
