The insulators are hard to find by themselves, none available in Oz and a US ebayer wants nearly $40 AUD to post 50 insulators to Oz. You can make them out of 3mm silicone tube but not having the flange they are really fiddly to fit.
Oh wow that is terrible. Bet I could find some.

Lightning Vapes has them for 35 bucks per 100 or 10 bucks for 25. Shipping to AU is 13.95 if I remember correct.

$10 for the insulators and $30 postage for something that would fit in an envelope

Thanks for that, looking now
They would fit in a envelope no problem. Ive only sent stuff to AU in bubble mailers so it maybe allot cheaper than 13.95. Let me know if you want em and ill help get em to you. Ive sent a couple things to you before.

Went to checkout and calculated shipping to Oz, five options, cheapest was DHL at $63 up to FedEx priority $399.00. I need a drink. LOL

Ive been vaping for about 5 years now. I used to be part of this forum, but have not visited in a while. I found a set up that worked for me and stuck with it. The problem is my set up is mech mods using carto tanks. the issue is cartomizers are getting harder and harder to find. Im looking for some ideas on something to replace the carto tanks with. Easy to use, works with my mods (GP PAPS). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Some additional info is, 510 threads, currently using 2.0 cartos in tanks, looking for tank size of 3-5 ml, but bigger would be ok. Not into rebuilding right now, but might get into it, so premade coils with the option to rebuild would be ideal. Feel free to ask for more info if I forgot anything.

Hi @Speedgoat ...I'm a little behind on this thread...so apologize if these suggestions have already been posted...

I've had no problems finding cartos for my CartoTanks at Sure Vapes. Great prices (especially their "5 Box Deals") and fast shipping...

MULTI BOX CARTO DEALS

I recently bought an "eGo ONE Mega V2 Tank" and a 5-pack of "CLR coils-1.0Ω".

The eGo ONE Mega V2 has 4ml. capacity, very easy (although bottom-fill) refilling, a wide-ranging AFC and NO leaking, gurgling or flooding.

The CLR coils are manufactured to be rebuilt (they come with rebuilding instructions in each 5-pack).

The 1.0Ω coils give me a great MTL experience with excellent taste and a somewhat more "dense" vapor than I've had before.

I've never rebuilt a coil before...but since their $9.95/5-pack price is close to other coils' prices...I got a 5-pack to use like other coils. I'm now heading into my 2nd month on my first coil...but when its flavor/vape changes I'll replace it with another coil...and throw the used one into a baggie. Then...depending on what the future holds...I can easily replace the wick and, later, replace the wire.

Oh WOW!
I have an idea that might work. A Shapeway designer in OZ that might be able to make some for you cheaper?

It gets to the point where it's actually cheaper to buy the heads in bulk and strip them for the insulators. We have been searching for a good option for a while

That would sure work and even better if you can pick up a Clone on FT

Also, check out CloneCores dot com. You'll have to write to Scott (owner) to find out if he'll ship to OZ. I've ordered both the rubber and silicone insulators from him. :)

Thanks to all, Krisma came thru again, found a seller in Cyprus of all places, $25AUD for 70 silicone insulators posted to Oz.
@Krisma is the Boss around here!! lol :D

All this talk of rebuilding factory coils makes me want to try.. I have a bunch of Kangers and Cerotanks I started with, never tried rebuilding them because their so small and my vision is not very good, maybe I should try rebuilding one new out the blister pack and see how it ends up....

I like the idea of the CLR Tanks as-well with factory rebuildable coils.. Iv been using my old Tootle gear lately more than usual and would hate to see it go to waste with the FDA getting in the way.. :)

I did a quick little youtube on the actual rebuilding apologies for the fumbling. this is using prewicked coils from fasttech that i remove the silica wick and redo with rayon. I prefer the NR-R-NR coils as they do not heat the insulator and give off any fumes.

and a pictorial of how it comes apart. I use mesh and rayon but i guess most people would use cotton for the wick and the case surround.
