Sorry Eskie. ;)

I usually do like someone else mentioned and use an ego battery with a pro tank aero mini. I normally vape 3mg but put 12mg in it. Super small and stealthy and I hold in the vape for as long as possible then exhale in my shirt or napkin. I leave all my regular rigs and tanks in my carry on. Which is the reason I usually get pulled over for inspection.
LJ thanks. Thats what i would do too. My little icare would be perfect for that situation.

Another question: does TSA ever questions the juices you carry?

Funny, I typically travel with one stealth mod (a Plato with a 1.8 Nauti coil and higher PG for little cloud) and a backup of a CF4 with a Triton mini (same coils as the Plato so simpler packing) with a few batteries in silicone sleeves and have never had my bag opened. Regardless, small and stealthy is the way to go when traveling.

I put them in my zip lock baggie with the rest of my stuff. I've never been questioned about them yet.

sad newz.... I guh-busted my tank on my brand new Nauti X last night :( I was trying to disassemble and clean, and the ring was pert-near GLUED to the tank. Tried some grippy-things and SHATTER! Glass errywhere. Good thing it came with a spare, or I'da been P-O'd in a major way.

Moar glass on order  First tank I've shattered in almost 3 years (maybe a chip in one or two, but certainly not the shards that spewed like last night....)

That sucks but at least you have a spare. I usually order a bunch of glass for my favorite tanks. I've had a few commit hari kari and roll off the table while cleaning as well. :)

I vape odorless and no clouds so that would work wouldn't it?

YES - It did for "Me", especially since I was careful and did not vape often (just to take the additional edge off - after I vaped and smoked as much nicotine before going through TSA, even wore a 21nic patch, and took a light sleeping med to get through the flight . . .) . . . However, just know that with everyone being on guard as much as they are when flying - Ya' still - NEED TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL - particularly if "You" plan on trying to Stealth Vape on a plane . . . ;)

BTW: Small/Travel size bottle of Air Fresheners "Febreeze" (Best) /"Ozium" (careful very strong stuff) under 3 oz. (Absolutely NOT perfume/colognes) can be your friend (Oh Yea - really helped in the Hospital too), especially use the spray on seat before seating with your fellow passengers near by and then maybe again later during flight in front of "You" . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Do you think our vapor would set them off? Even a small amount in my t-shirt?

Word to the wise - all I will say is Vapor can set off the smoke alarms in the lavatory (must open sink, run water, and blow any and all vapor into drain) . . . People have been confronted upon exiting those small rooms for other lesser offences . . . (Read above BTW: - Spray before entering and then again just before exiting ).

I dont plan a plane flight any time soon but i want to be prepared.

VERY SMART . . .

I happen to know that there have been people who are even considered by a flight attendant of "Misbehaving" have been taken off the planes and either charged with a violation and/or heavily FINE (over a few thousand dollars) if the local TSA & Police press charges . . .
PROFPoliceman02HL.gif

Another question: does TSA ever questions the juices you carry?

Depends on the screener, more specifically how inexperienced they are . . .

As I mention in the "Blog" I wrote here (I think I provide some really good information there, especially some important warnings ya' might want to read . .
8ball10.gif
) : Taking Vaping Gear & "E-Liquids" On A Plane Trip . . .

AND - Although TSA Agents are quite aware of "eCigs"; and the like, I know they will frown at someone carrying on board large bottles of "E-Liquids", Big Huge MODS, or any APV's that they cannot recognize . . .

Remember TSA Regulations are that no liquids over 3oz in a container are allowed on the plane (and as I have mentioned not good to pack either) . . . However - That does not stop you from bringing 20 bottles with you, but under 3oz each . . . AND - If I may suggest, whether or not you are bringing that many bottles of "E-Liquids" - put each bottle in a separate "Plastic Sealed Bag" and then into a Larger 1 gallon "Plastic Zip-lock Bag" so it is easier to take out and then put back into your carry-on luggage if/when "YOU" NEED TO. . .
Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Hope this is helpful . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Just to clarify, you can put as much liquid as you want in checked bags, but carry on is limited to 100 ml containers that all fit in a 1 quart Ziploc kind of bag.

And while you can set off that smoke detector with a cloud, if you keep it really small you're usually OK. I never worry about odor, as even with my flavored juices, I've never gotten a comment from anyone around me about even being able to smell it. Oh, and those are people who do have working noses.

I would also suggest that the Coolfire built to look like a hand grenade is probably best left at home as well.

AHHH - Yes . . . Liquid in checked baggage, especially if it is a large container and is filled to the top . . . Just remember what I have already said more than once . . .

DO NOT - I MEAN DO NOT - Pack in any "Checked" suitcase any "E-liquids" in large quantities, especially any "pre-filled" Tanks . . . Without taking precautions . . . Remember the area is not usually pressurized while at approximately thousands of feet up as the cabin is - LIQUID & The Container CAN & SOMETIMES WILL LEAK/CRACK or "EXPLODE", especially if "You" are not very careful how "You" have packed them - making sure that they are in ziplock plastic bags to protect the other items in your suitcase . . . I Speak From Experience - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED . . .

Thanks for all the info Uncle. Good to know all this stuff. I think it would be simpler to go without for a short flight which I can do. Not worrh the risk.

It wouldnt be nearly as bad as when i used to smoke and even a two-hour flight was pure misery. For longer flights I would do what you do and I also used to do when I smoked…use a patch.

For us vapers, if the FDA regs pass, the issue will be being able to easily buy juice at our destination should we travel for several days and TSAs dont let us board with several 3oz bottles.

I fly at least 4 times a year. For airports and airplanes (I try to avoid vaping on an airplane) I use a cig-a-like. In my zipped compartment of the carry-on bag I have an unfilled set-up (battery stored in a plastic battery box). I have the rest of my vaping gear in a plastic box at the bottom of my carry-on. My e-liquids are in a quart-size ziploc, because you have to take the liquids out for TSA. If you are a rebuilder, make sure that you DO NOT put wire cutters )or even wire) in your carry-on. Put that in checked luggage.

For some unknown reason, even though I lift my hands and behave during those body scan things, I inevitably need to be "wanded" and often time pat down. My carry on 8 times out of 10 is usually checked by hand after it goes through the x-ray machine. Sigh. Never a big deal, I leave with plenty of time to make my flight, and nothing has ever been confiscated.

If you are traveling with devices (even egos with and evod at the end) I suggest that you put them in a ziploc as well. The pressure in the cabin fluctuates, and more times than not, there is leakage. I, too, have learned from experience.

Very goid advice. I used to fly several times a year and ALWAYS double bagged anything liquid or creamy because I'd heard horror stories from people who hadnt.

Speaking of which, I decided once between flights to use my squonker. My thinking was that was better than a device with a tank, since if I filled a tank I'd either have to empty it or risk it leaking. Bottle was only about 1/4 full so I figured I'd just stick the squonker (bottle and all) in my shirt pocket before the next flight rather than take the bottle out and put it back with my liquids.

Yeah, it will auto squonk even with a mostly empty squonk bottle with the pressure change.

YEP - Even just under 2 hours was too long sometimes . . . Matter of fact, since the build-up of all the "CRAP" at the Airports when the no smoking rules went into effect and then the security, especially after 9/11 - I have really disliked flying . . . It wasn't until about 5 - 6 years ago when I found out that instead of taking the "motorized chart" that I could get a wheelchair to be escorted ("Wheeled') to the plane and bypassing all the people in line that it made it a little easier . . . The worse part is - I use to "LOVE" Flying somewhere - anywhere . . . NOT NOW ! ! ! :(

    "My" Carry-on "E-Cig" stuff was only checked 2 in over 6 years . . . :pervy:

Now as for "My" Diabetic Foods, etc. that's another story - even had to get a TSA Supervisor involved once when the TSA agent told me that I would have to throw it out . . . :-x ABSOLUTELY NOT ! ! !

Ah, the joys of unpressurized cargo holds. Yeah, double Ziplocs are one approach to that challenge. Same goes even for your stuff in the 1 quart baggie too. As @kad2371 experienced, even the passenger cabin is subject to significant depressurization in the air (sorry about that squonker episode:lol:).

I fly a fair amount, and really haven't had any significant issue with vaping. It's actually easier than when I smoked and I'd be praying for an early arrival just to grab a smoke. The other option if you just plain can't vape on the plane and you forgot to pick up nic lozenges or gum is to place a drop or two of juice on your tongue. The taste is still fine, and if it's a higher nic juice, it can hold you for quite some time.
