My provaris haven't come yet, so jealous of you ;)

@Skold, if you MTL, you will love them all, closest thing to smoking those old nasties. Better flavor, no burn marks everywhere, including my chest, just a perfect replication for me.

That IJoy 100W RDTA isn't bad when run detuned to TP specs, flavour is a bit lacking but for ease of use, it gets a thumbs up ;)
Are you referring to this one? If so, this thing has taken over the top spot in my daily routine for the last week and a half. I don't find the flavor (why do brits and aussies insist on adding an unnecessary "u" to that word?;)) lacking at all. I am running it around 50w, give or take a couple. Airflow about 1/3 open.

If you can swing the (aforementioned in other thread) "Jackie OH!", I'd bet dollars to donuts you'd be pleased as punch. It's about as close as you can get to being a tube without being a tube. Some (@pufZeppelin ) might argue, but I might be tempted to say, "Best mod ever!"

With an Evolv chip, even. :thumb:
thanks again..will keep it in mind for when the budget allows.

IMO you will be happy with it... I like the shape/style also and for simple vaping I think you will enjoy and use for a long time.
    Thank you

Because the dna 30 & many others do not down regulate/step down/buck voltage output or do not down regulate/step down/buck to a voltage that will provide an equal in power you normally vape, it may be very important to you to get a device that is capable of supplying the output range you desire.
    example,
    your preference.
    3.3v / 1.5Ω = 7.2w
    3.4v / 1.5Ω = 7.7w

dna 30 & many others, figures vary depending on ability to down regulate.
The minimum output voltage is the voltage that will be sent to the coil until the battery voltage drops to 3.6ish v - 3.8ish v depending on battery voltage sag under load.
    4v / 1.5Ω = 10.6w

So no matter what the screen shows you will be vaping at 10+w until the battery voltage drops to a level that makes it possible, ohms law.

Voltage & wattage are inseparably linked.
Voltage to the coil met with resistance = watts
Watts sent to the coil met with resistance = voltage.
    4v /1.5Ω = 10.6w
    10.6w / 1.5Ω = 4v

To get to your preferred power range of 7.2w - 7.7w with a 4v output minimum, the narrow resistance range I mentioned would be 2.0Ω to 2.2Ω.
    4v / 2.2Ω = 7.2w
    4v / 2.0Ω = 7.7w

Simply put, the dna 30 & others have a minimum v output of 4v.
you like to vape at 3.3v - 3.4 v,,, it isn't capable of providing 3.3v to the coil because it has a 4v minimum output.

I don't consider vaping a hobby either, only a means to keep off the smokes.

It is impossible to say whether you will like it or not, you might love vaping a 1.5Ω at 10w, many do.
    My normal everyday vape is 1.6Ω - 1.8Ω at 10.6w - 17w.
Thank you for trying to explain this to me. I'm not a dumb person but my brain doesn't understand electricity. But I'm not giving up. I will reread it until I can digest it. The bolded phrase above gives me what I need, thank you.

BTW, I've tried aping at higher wattage, around 10, and it's way yoo strong for me. Makes me cough.

I have. Looks nice. Thanks for suggesting it.

Has anyone tried the Corsair tank? If so, what are your opinions on it?

My opinion? You are going to need to invest in a Vape Gear Bookcase like Shawn has if you keep buying stuff.:D Sorry, can't speak for the tank itself, but I do like your enthusiasm for buying new toys. Can I have your vape budget?

It's not unnecessary, 'flavor' is not correct. It even underlined it in red when I wrote that. Americans just can't spell :p
Nah only joking, I actually couldn't care less how it's spelt :)

    @Bea-FL

I didn't mean to over complicate my response.

For your preferred method of vaping what you want to look for is a device that has a minimum voltage output range of anywhere between
    .1v ~ 2.8v.

You cannot trust the watt range advertised if the minimum voltage is 3.3v or higher.
If the device specs show a wattage range of 5w ~ 75w and a voltage range of 3.7v - 6v, using your preferred resistance of 1.5Ω.
It may allow you to set the number to 7w, but, because the least voltage the 'chip' can output is 3.7v.
3.7v / 1.5Ω = 9.12w no matter what the numbers on the display screen show.
In some devices you will be vaping considerably higher than that because they output direct battery voltage until the battery v fails to very near the stated minimum voltage output.

I got a bunch of iTaste vv's for less than $10 over @ healthcabin and ecigaretteempire.

Subtank clones can be bought cheaply @ fasttech
