The registry is hard enough without Beer. WoW !! Thank God for "Images" though.

fixed it! got her booting up and running at 39 seconds. not bad for a laptop with 2 gb of ram and a single core 1.67 ghz processor.

My wife decided to try Win10 a while back when it first came out on her laptop. It lasted about 15 minutes before I had to revert it back to Win8 and she still disliked win8. Now with her desktop she wanted win7. I always disable indexing and send error reports through the services in our comps. Unless you build the comp from parts you get lots of useless bloatware and garbage in storebought systems. I still have to disable and set to "manual" lots of programs that don't need to run all the time in the background. Shut off defender and install MSC as antiviris. I used avast for eons then it got crappy so I got rid of it.

@VapeLuvr , so very sorry to hear what happened! When a door closes, a window opens. Most often, things happen for a reason, a better job will come your way.

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a rough day as the shock wears off. As I suspected, with the increased stress and free time, I've increased my juice consumption quite a bit!

YOU sir, deserve another beer.
vodka is my poison of choice. :)

most of the refurbished ones i get come pretty bloatware free. but these are some of the first things I do when i get something new:

delete bloatware
change display setting/animations
disable all unnecessary startup scripts
change some folder options
turn off damn near every privacy setting (at least the ones I find)
do some registry edits; these don't speed things up too much, more like personal preferences.
kill about 75% of the background processes.

if it was my lap top, I'd throw in a solid state drive and upgrade the ram and cpu. but since work won't pay for that, I probably won't.

i also hate taking apart laptops. lol

That is understandable. You could increase the nic by 1 or 2 % in a bottle or two, especially the ones in a tank you mtl. This too shall pass and even though the commute to "the big city" sucks, it is doable.

there's probably thousands of systems (hardware) and 100s of processors (software/companies)

they're also nothing like what online retailers use.

ETA: I didn't mean to sound "snooty". I just see a lot of misinformation about credit cards, EMV, skimmers, etc, and it kind of irks me. my job includes installing/troubleshooting POS systems at c-stores.
Your saying authorize net isn't the same online and in stores?

I did the same when I was in, but with a Presa TC75 and Tron-S I think (I hid it in my clothes in the closet) and vaped when they weren't looking (and just held my breath).;)
My problem was was that I was hooked up to IVs on one arm and an NG tube in my stomach. For me to get out of bed required two nurses to unhook everything :(:shock:

Pretty much much my routine with every refurbished laptop I ever bought.

That free time will pass faster and provide a bit of cash if you take stock of all the vaping equipment you have and thin the herd a bit. The stuff you aren't any longer interested in keeping can be sold here in the classys or on eBay. Better to move some out before it's obsolete! I wish I had done this myself lol!

It can also give you a vaping budget!

I would, Yes. The HΩ mod's are said to do more of Temp Limiting, at least some say that is the case for Kanthal/NiCr wire. It's not like the Evolv Chips temp Control, it's different, as the age of the wire, complexity of build (Clapton, Fused Clapton's, Twisted and such) and even wicking material and wicking efficiency come into play with HΩ Tech mod's and setting it up for Kanthal/NiCr (Ni200-SS-Ti do the same as an EVOLV chip does). The HΩ tech Slice was the first TC mod I had ever tried (I had been a Power Mode user B 4 that), but in a few short days I was off to the races with mine, now TC'ing Kanthal/NiCr is all I do.

Thank You!

yes? I'm not really sure of your question. lol. been stuck in meetings and haven't had all my coffee yet this morning.

as I said, I mainly work with small retailers (gas stations). but the compliance rules for B&M shops are totally different than online retailers. so I'd assume that yes, they either are different or not compliant.

squonkaholics...

dipping my toes into the squonk game....gonna try out something cheap to see if I like it.

Pico Squeeze or Frankenskull Clone?

I've got a couple bottom feed RDAs already, probably gonna get a YFTK Speed as well.

$14.95 Free Shipping YFTK Speed Revolution Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (Speed Revolution, 18mm, 316 SS, Silver (YFTK)) at m.FastTech.com

thoughts? suggestions? Pro's and Con's?
Not sure this has been answered yet, cause too many pages to backtrack, but I have the Pico Squeeze and really enjoying it. It is 4.5" long with atty & drip tip and less than 2" wide. I have a small hand, and it fits nicely.
Exactly why I left the "tempting" threads for awhile. Get to know what I have (I have a lot!) and stop seeking new. I am very happy with what I have and new stuff was disappointing (high watt, sub ohm airy DTL is Not for me).
Yea, there is that. No vape mail is depressing :(:|:facepalm:
I'm feeling the same as you....am happy with all that I have.....and, that's a lot! Even me craving vape mail has diminished....mind you, diminished, not totally gone! :)
Hello my friends

So glad to be able to be with you all again. I am slowly reading through, and am so touched by all your comments and well-wishes. They mean a lot to me and I'm sure that this collective positive energy helped me heal. I'm still a few weeks from recovery but feel human again. :)

I was too sick to even think of vaping until about 4 days ago but my icares saved the day. Anything bigger and I would have been found out. Not that I could do much vaping anyway! But hospital gowns have a pocket where I could quickly drop it when someone came to do something to me which was about every four hours round the clock. I was sure glad to get back to my Provari when I got home!

In time, I'll try to respond to your quotes but if I miss something just nudge me. So what's new in the vape world? Are you all buying new shiny toys?
So glad you're on the mend! :)

Catching up on reading this thread is monumental.....having taken a small hiatus from the computer was refreshing but, I missed what is going on the vaping world. Haven't had any new shiny toys in the mail for a long while now, so I continue to tootle puff my way!

Tootle on!!! :)

That's exactly what I figured out in a very long process. Coming from tootle puffing I went the DTL-route and at no point I was really satisfied with my vape. Devices and attys came and went, mostly squonkstuff, craving for stinkies got stronger, and then: bam. I bought a Flash-e-Vapor V4, took the 1.2mm airflowscrew, raised my nic to 10%mg, put in some decent tobacco liquid and never looked back.
The only vapemail I'm awaiting is a Reo Grand (I sold my first one, because it didn't do well with my sub ohm builds) and a Speed Revolution Clone as my M2L squonknirwana.
It took nearly 1 1/2 year to recognize this, but for now I'm done with excess gear and concentrate more on creating the liquids I wanna vape, getting my nic hit, not worrying about the next big thing out there. Vape and relax, so to speak, not gettin' mad about gear.

I'm smoking atm, can't even get any coils for my cleito till Friday and I'm even running low on tobacco. Don't know what I'm gonna do tomorrow.

How are the reos? Was trying to decide weather to get one...
