I agree with everything g you've said. The one issue I have is aspire coils have a false flavor to them. I think it's due to the wick they use. Doesn't matter if it's the nautilus or cleito or Atlantis ego coils. They all have this same polluted taste to me. That's why I was so excited that the nicolas tank uses the same technology (Bvc coil) but doesn't have this flavor pollution that I can see.

Curious, h00l. False flavor? What is it that Aspire uses as wicking material? I'm very interested as to why you call it a polluted taste. I've been using all iterations of Aspire coils since they appeared and they have been at least the second or third best coils I've ever used.

I see that you are pretty "gung ho" on this nicolas tank, so perhaps that's the reason for the comparisons? What wicking does this coil use?

O.K. TOOTLE PUFFERS PSA, MFS has had another cyber breach! I was hit about a month ago, new card issued. Assumed this was solved, made another purchase last week! Now waiting for CC company to issue another card.

Yeah, I ordered from MFS this weekend, and now I have a new card coming also.

Oh YIKES! Again??? I'm so sorry for you guys. DAYUM. :(

Well, it is more than obvious that each of us have to protect ourselves and not depend on any company saying all is well. It isn't.
I have been hit with fraud also(but not this particular one or time) so I finally got proactive and changed to a card where I could create a temp credit card number from my real credit card(through BOA). Its good for one merchant, one time and expires immed upon your use. You set the amount of money on the temp card. After sale goes through, you see the charge on your real credit card. It is all handled through the bank, and the merchant never sees your real info. And once you use that temp number, it is useless for anyone else to try. Total time active can be as little as it takes to make that transaction. And there are no fees attached to doing this.

jmho

Been using the BOA shop safe for over 10 years for all online purchases. Love it!

Love B of A's Shop Safe, too. It just...... makes cents. ;)

Gung ho only in terms of examining it whilst new. Supposedly both companies use organic cotton but if you've built using say kgd and muji and sesheido those are all cotton pads and all taste different.

Polluted taste for me is that I have one adv that tastes completely wrong in anything aspire. It's not just whether it's muted or less flavor. The flavor is flat out wrong. One of he tests I do when I get new gear is vape flavorless to see what the coil is contributing to the flavor. Every aspire coil seems to have the same flavor profile which impacts my flavors. The larger coils like the 1.8 triton coils seem to have this more than the smaller coils. So he deduction is that it's cotton. More cotton in he larger coils and it isn't as exposed to the heat so the flavor doesn't burn off quickly.

The new aspire Bvc coils are better with this. I don't notice it as much after he break in. I'm wondering if they changed cotton providers recently. No way to know. The nicolas tank is a clear competitor to the nautilus 2 that's a reason for comparisons. Not much can stand up to the aspire Bvc coils for mtl vapers. So it's nice to see a new tank that is aimed at us. Since we are in the tootle puffer thread I'm just updating my opinions as we go. As I'd do with anything new.

Something of interest I missed with the nicolas tank - there are two air possibilities. That's why it's spaced out more.

There is the nautilus 2 style run of air hole sizes

Then There is a single air hole for those who want a tighter draw which can be positioned over any of he single holes.

Oh also another reason I'm being detailed is that this is not a tabk that's out and about much yet. I have to be one of he pretty early adopters. I could dissect the t22 but it's a year old and most of you already have experience with it.

Fwiw I'm not a brand loyalist and don't believe in tearing down anything based on brand opinion. It's vaping gear. It's irrelevant to me beyond delivering vapor. I am only relaying my experiences and how I see it. Obviously everyone is going to feel their own way.

Just tried out my Kayfun filling tool for the first time to rewick a couple of KFL's. On the first one the tool wouldn't go in. After a while I gave up and emptied a tankful of juice in the trash bin. On the second one I decided to push really hard to see what happened and the tool went in. But then I couldn't figure out how to get the base back on and the tool out without all the juice spilling on my desk and one leg.

On top of that when I got the mess cleaned up and went to reassemble the tank I noticed what looked like a black hair stuck in the hole in the top of the tank. Turned out the tool had shaved off several small pieces of rubber from the captive o-ring.

Guess I need to watch the videos and try to figure out where I went wrong. Or maybe the tool doesn't work in that particular KFL clone.

I'm far from a cottone aficionado, but I do know that the Aspire coils have been very good for my vape (style).

Thanks, H00l.

Mine too. I just think we may finally have a tank that dethrones the king :)

Thank you too!

I really don't understand this "polluted" taste you are talking about? I understand some flavored juice work better in some tanks than others but "polluted" is a strong word to use to describe a flavor prebuilt coil.. if that were the case I don't think the they would be that popular for years in the Nautilus line, and other designers would not have built tanks and bridges just for a coil they did not create ex...the Billet Box (bridge) and the Kabuki...

Like I said to each their own. I feel the aspire coils introduce flavor pollution (aka some juices don't taste correct) and obviously others here don't. Have you never used any coil where you could taste the coil with every puff? It's not a unique occurrence to aspire. Like when it breaks in but it never really goes away. I've had coils that tasted perfumed too. Polluted is just a word to describe that a flavor not present in the juice that is present in the vape. when that flavor is recurring across a line of coils then I have to think it's either wire or wick that's causing it. It's just a personal observation. Clearly one not shared bY everyone. But to each their own opinion right? An appeal to popularity and appeal to (false)authority are logical fallacies. We can't fall into that trap, We'd never be able to debate anything !

I got a free gift from healthcabin. What the devil am I supposed to do with these things and why would you send these to some who ordered 2 iTaste VV's?

Framed staples! I'd love to have those how do I get that gift from them??

By the way hats a relatively good free gift. Those kind of coil packs cost $10-20 usually. Hey must be starting that as a service and want to show everyone the quality.

And ....... for fun....... and the gorgeous pink hat...

Thank you too!

If any have de-throned the king it would be the Egg Rollio coils (the CLRs). ;)

I agree with you those were the best. For a long time I felt it was as good as we were going to get for premade coils (though I rewicked always on first unpack as I didn't care for their wick flavor either)

So easy to rebuild. So convenient. I wish i had a better tank to put them in. I have an ego mega and a tron t or two. I shouldn't have given away my ego one.

Great coils!

There are other tanks (not particularly to my liking, but).... for example the Pico-S. It has some adapter for the CLR coils.

There is also the Amor (that's AMORE!) at Totally Wicked.

Hang on,,,,,, I believe I have a list.

I have a couple of pico clones (the 1:1 that were available for a very short while) because I couldn't find he original and everyone was raving but I think the flavor isn't that great with it and clr coils. I think maybe it's too short so it's sort of like an rda. I agree anyway it wasn't that great. I think the tron and ego tanks were better.

I also have the noname lazy bottom feeder - that takes clr coils and is almost leak proof Too tight for me surprisingly though I suspect it's right for many here and if anyone is going to get into squonking and loves clr coils there you go!

Thank you for that list. It's very extensive. I think it's a shame so few people know about the lazy. It's a great tasting bottom feeder.
