just nos'ing around and seen this, it made me smile...
probably at least ½ the stuff sitting on my vape station is from VapeNW

They were the first company I ordered vape stuff from, an Ego AIO. As soon as I worked out a few juice and coil hiccups it was what made me know vaping would work.

Coil building theory question:

If you had the options of building a 2mm-3mm ID coil, what would you build?

Just thinking that a 2mm ID coil would be longer than a 3mm coil at the same resistance, and coils heat up from the center outward... wouldn't a shorter length coil be advantageous? i.e., a 3mm ID coil.

There is a "Capital of Texas Zoo" a half hour from town. They have an outdoor pen with 50 or 60 guinea pigs. If you've never seen a guinea pig stampede, complete with all of them whining in unison, you're missing out in life.

This is not the place, but give you an idea:

We are to assume the same resistance? In that case, a 2.5 mm ID would be a happy medium. What you are saying is true, but the more wraps also equate to a larger coil/wick surface exposure. Usually a 6 or 7 wraps is a good coil. At some point, a higher number of wraps starts defeating the purpose.

Tough day in the Rain House. Have to take our senior citizen guinea pig to be put to sleep in a few hours. I'm bummed, kids are bummed and it costs entirely too much to humanely euthanize a rodent. I'm just not the do it myself type when it comes to this. No vaping purchases this week. At least I have some slow boat stuff that's getting close to delivery so at least I'll have vapemail next week.
I'm sorry you will be sending your little guy across the bridge. You are right, it is never easy to make that decision. (((hugs))) to all of you.

Question re. coil jigs: Which one do you like the most? (Preferring a screwdriver or drill bit or something that's not a coil jig counts.)
I've been building Ni200 coils exclusively lately, so I only need something to wind them on... I just use the mandrels from a CoilMaster kit.

Bummer, never fun to lose a friend. Yeah, I couldn't do it myself, either, had enough to have the Vet do it.

Jewelers screwdriver.

This statement confuses me. What other purpose do coil jigs have beside winding coils? Is the CoilMaster kit not considered a coil jig?

I'm so sorry about that. It doesnt matter what type of pet it is it always hurts when they leave you.

And I understand your concern about the cost but as I worked in the profession for almost 18 years please allow me to say that the process of euthanasia costs a veterinary clinic just as much for a tiny pet as for a larger one, believe it or not. Our clients always had questions about that too.

Yes, it's a coil winding jig, but I only use the different sized mandrels and wind the coil by hand, as opposed to using the whole CoilMaster jig to wind it.

ETA: I only use these from the CoilMaster jig:

Home made jig...The shafts from a jewelers screw driver set bought at the dollar store.I dremel off the shafts and put them in a drilled hole in a chunk of wood, they're held in place with a set screw.

I use the coil master and I like it but I haven't used anything else so I have nothing to compare to it.

I get it, the drugs are expensive. I paid the price because there's no way I could have watched him slowly starve to death but it definitely chafed a little.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. We just got done. It was rough on the kids but they insisted to be there.
