I have a couple of questions for any of you who've been building a stash. I assume you've also tried different tanks and mods, probably bought multiples of ones you liked along the way, and have finally decided which ones are your definite, long-term, overall favorites that you want the most of.

So...if you have a bunch of the others that are still new:

Are you considering putting them on the Classies, for others who have maybe chosen them as their favorites?
or
Are you going to hang on to them to maybe PIF with some, and keep others as your "second choice" type of gear?
I gave away all my 801 stuff a year or so ago. I had finally taken pictures and was ready to put them in the Classies when I met someone who wanted them.

The only thing I for sure don't want right now is 3 Lemo RBAs. I guess I'll probably put them in the Classies. Either that or give them away. Whatever I get around to doing eventually. I've meant to start thinning out the stuff I won't use. But, I'm an outstanding procrastinator.

See...that's what I'm talking about exactly. You must be having the same type of thoughts then. It's not that there's anything wrong with the other stuff...it's just that my personal favorite choices of mods and tanks for my stash have changed.

That right there is the reason I won't even bother to try another tank.

Mods are just power delivery devices so they don't matter in the grand plan.

So, does that mean you have no "stash" of new tanks and mods that are for future use? Many do, because of the FDA garbage and/or what the states may do as far as taxes and/or making it harder to get things online shipped to your state?

I very quickly found what I like and has longevity. I stocked up those. I tend to wait a very long time when something new hits. Wait for real life reviews from members. Wait a few months more for kinks to get worked out. Then if I think it will work with my vaping style, I purchase 1 unit.

After I see that it works great for me, I then stocked up on a couple more.

I have KFL's and several Kabuki. Since the kabuki uses drop and play coils (not getting into rebuilding those ever) I only have 3. Kayfuns...I have about 8 or so.

Before that I was a Vivi Nova gal. I still have those still but plan on trashing them. Haven't touched them in 3 years so I doubt I ever will again.

I do have a tank that was gifted to me. It is still in the box and probably the only time it will come out is if all else fails.

It's also time to toss the eGo twists. I have a lot of ProVari and they will last a Very Long time.

Can ya tell I'm a simple girl? ;)

I'm of the same mind, waiting to see how newer things play out and prices plummet. Since my style is in the minority these days, most things I enjoy end up clearanced out!

The primary tank style here remains the Vision Vivi Nova with a bunch of heads. Subtank Minis and Nanos and Ego One varieties are the backups and give us flexibility long term. Lots of 19mm options to sit pretty on those ProVari 2.5's! All the other stuff - KFL's, RDA's etc, are for emergencies or just in case we get bored. Who knows, maybe we'll want to try TC one day?

 Thanks for the head's up Puf! I couldn't resist.... I grabbed 4 more.

Not that I need them... but once they're gone, they're gone.

No, I can honestly say I won't be going to TC. I'm a very low v/w vapers with higher ohm coil. Like right now my coil is showing 2.3 and I'm vaping at 5.4 w

Don't think I have to worry about how hot my coil is getting ;)

Kinda the same here,I've got 5 mods and 8 KFs.Out of the 5 mods I basically only use 2
(Pico & eVic Mini VTwo)and with 8 KFs I have enough atty parts to last my life time.I do have a bunch of ProTank minis,Iclear16s and ego batteries that rarely get use nowadays and those will probably go to my Lil Sis.

I do buy new stuff every now and again BUT the stuff I have is more than enough for my life.

For the heck of it I decided to try temp control as I have 3 mods that support it and gracious member corn flakes sent me some stainless steel wire to try.I will say it's interesting and does work.

I have nothing worthwhile to list in the classies. Everything I have I'm holding onto until either finding a use for it or PIF situations. I think I'm definitely done buying hardware for awhile. Picking up a lot of kfm v3 tanks and parts for the hubby and that's all I have planned. Saving my cash and maybe only splurging on my flavor collection. Daily drivers I'm using kompact kayfun's, doggys, KF v5 minis and kfm v3s and I have several of each + parts. Stuck away I have a couple rdas and subohm tanks that I'll save for a rainy day. I feel like I'm in a good position for what I like and being able to vape long term no matter what happens with the regulations.
That's how I feel too. Given my age and life expectancy I think I have enough hardware to last me, plus a few extras in case what I have doesn't last as long as I hope.

But every now and tgen I question myself: what if they last less, what if I live longer than expected, what if…Then I start thinking about buying some more. The new FDA guy is in now but who knows for how long and who knows what happens later on. What to do…sigh!

You must have nerves of steel then. lol j/k. However, I would like to point out that the new guy(FDA) did just throw a curve ball at the tobacco industry without any warning. We liked it cause it helps the vapers out by extending the status quo, but what if he had gone the other way or let it stand as is. I just don't trust em.

just my 2 pennies.

:)
Ditto!

Nah, it doesn't have to be underground. It's a flashlight. It just has to work as a flashlight. What you would do with it after you purchase it is up to you. I'm saying that this is a product that can be manufactured and sold as is. And it's only dependent upon current technology. It's a hypothetical that I'm throwing out there to explain that mods really aren't all that complicated. The manufacturer could offer different lighting modules with various LED configurations. You pick the one you want, or order more than one. The light module screws on via 510 connection and has an o-ring on it to keep moisture out. Perfectly legal.
To take a flashlight and turn it into a vaping mod one must know something about the technology of which you speak and perhaps electricity, soldering, etc, etc. You obviously have the knowledge but I'm afraid that many people who attempt it do not. I personally know enough to know not to mess with it, therefore I stocked up.

@listopencil is technically correct that vaping can't be stopped because simple setups can be created for vaping purposes. @qorax did a vid about it awhile back, linked below (if you aren't subscribed to @qorax youtube channel you should be!!).

BUT, there are many reasons that people choose to stock up. Perhaps you have tried a KF on a Provari and you know that it is a unique vape in and of itself and cannot be replicated. You decide this is a setup you can use for the duration of your life, so you decide you are going to stock up on the RTA and the mod that you love, so you load up on KF atties and parts and a good stock of Provaris. You are set and decide to now put your funds elsewhere (DIY, Nic, your other hobbies, etc.).

Another motivation or maybe together with the above you decide you aren't going to wait for the govt to restrict your favorite vaping devices, so you stock up on your favorites. Then there is no regulation that will be able to come between you and your favorite vape setup.

You know that push come to shove you could rig up some type of mech and a dripper but based on your motivations above you decide that is not for you (that choice is ALWAYS there), so you stockpile what you love and then cease purchasing. Or you only invest in some high end stuff that you want to try every now and then for hobby purposes.

Those are the reasons many of us choose to stock up on the rigs that we love (you will never simulate a Provari hit using a mech, and vise versa). So, why shouldn't I stock up on Provaris (or whatever)? If it fits my style and I love it there is no reason to wait (including the company may go out of business or stop manufacturing my beloved device :)).

How to turn something of everyday things into a vape device is buried in the threads here on ECF.

If things should go that sour, those smart members will be more than willing to help out. You should see what they've turned into mods. Altoid tins, little flashlights...

There are even YouTube videos that take things step by step. From what to buy, to how to put them together.

Really interesting reads. Yeah, I spent a lot of time reading old threads. :p

I would ask, why wait until then... you can get outstanding mech mods today (clones and authentics) for a very, very low cost investment (especially the clones), some are < $10. Get a dozen, stash 'em back and be set for a lifetime no matter what happens.

My thoughts anyway, I don't want to wait to make a mod out of a flashlight when I can have several outstanding mechs waiting in the wings ready to go at a moments notice.

'Cause I have a lot of a very dependable mod as backup. ;)

Even if this mod fails in 5 years, I have enough to last me 35+years. :p

Stored with packets to keep moisture at bay, they should last my lifetime.

I think we are in agreement. That is what I'm saying also, stock up on what you love and don't wait until you have to make a mod out of a flashlight as @listopencil is choosing to do.

A while back, I bought three Provai's and some KayFun's as backup for my daughter and many REO parts for myself. I wish I had a pair of "back up eyes" because I'll be doing the building on those KayFuns.

At least you'll get your money out of it. I've noticed 2.5's selling for $100+ lately on ebay, so ProVaris have returned to holding their value and then some!
