Our deepest sympathies Chels. I lost my father last month (after a short bout of illness), the reason why we came to India, and I fully understand your agony. Our prayers are with you dear.

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad it wasn't a long, drawn out illness.

You have my deepest sympathies.

It was the loss of my father to lung cancer in 2014 that led me to vaping.

I think I've finally solved my STM "no atomizer" reading woes. The heat sink appears to be working!

Does it matter if it's the exact size as the tank? Or is that merely for looks?

The fins are the slits of metal that dissipate the heat by increasing the surface area between the air and metal..
I would choose number 2 because of the deeper fins and the adjustable 510 screw.

I bought a few rainbow ones and a few black, all the finned type(all 22mm to fit my subtank mini's) and they work good. I am more using them as 510 thread savers than heat dissipaters. It takes a lot to adjust the threads but it can be done, tried on one but the work involved thinking I was going to strip the slotted screw, it wasn't worth doing it to the other adapters . There is a small space between the top of the adapter and bottom of my subtank on all my hitters but can be changed is your wanting to go at it. I do have several more in my cart, they are good to have on hand.

You can also get them in a 5 pack. FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics

I have several that I use on my Pico's. (Can't remember which brand.)

I bought them to use as a thread saver. I figured that at the price the Pico's were selling for, perhaps, the stainless 510 threads *might* be of a lesser quality. As often as I change tanks, if the treads wear out on the heat sink I'll just toss and replace it. Better $2.00 than $25.00. ;) No issues yet, with either the Pico's of the heat sinks. :thumb: Plus, they look good.

Do scissors made for cotton wick work better than regular scissors?

Shorter blade scissors are good but I don't see cotton wick scissors being nothing more than a gimmick to pay more. I'd spend money on dental picks, thats a invaluable asset to my coil cleaning, adjusting and general purpose using. I found one of the smaller picks in a warehouse discount store. Ordered one I thought was smaller like the one I have thru ebay but it is a bit big so I don't know how they size them.

I have a small set of sewing scissors that have been repurposed for clean wick only, nice and sharp. I bought some thrum scissors but they were cheap garbage.

I've been using my late grandma's scissors. I wonder what she'd think if she knew what I was using them for (I always hid my smoking from her)!

I can't like the post, it is too sad, but my heart goes to you, best to you and yours.

When the end of life comes for a loved one, it really puts things in perspective. I'm having lots of deep thoughts (not with Jack Handy, but I'd appreciate him now! [emoji4]).
With vaping, we've all taken a major step in improving our health and longevity. My husbands step mom has poor circulation from heart problems. Yesterday I saw her lower leg for the first time. I suffer from many skin issues that cause me itchy rashes. Let me tell you, I'll NEVER complain about my rash again. I can't get the image of that swollen, cracked and weeping skin out of my mind. I was crying as I tried to put ointment on it as gently as I could. I can't imagine the discomfort she must be feeling.
So keep taking care of yourself, it makes a huge difference, especially towards the end.
Thanks again guys, my heart is full today as I felt each and every one of your wishes in my heart.

Fancy pantsy scissors. There is nothing like re purposing something old that is still useful. :)

Exactly! And this is their second life as a vaping tool! I'd bet those are at least 50 years old and they still work great!

She would be proud of you for quitting smoking (she knew ;))

I can hear her now, "You go girl!" :D
