It might make sense if the only factor was getting a certain amount of nic. You could get there with fewer hits. But if you are just quitting the cigs that isn't necessarily a good thing. You could get the nic you need by sucking a lozenge once every 3 hours. But having a vape in your hand all the time, and sucking on it whenever you want, that has some advantages.
Hit the nail on the head.

Ya...the vape doesn't burn away if you put it down. Having it handy ready to go all the time is a great advantage of vaping. If your coddling the hitter then it might be time to increase the nic a bit or change the way/how you inhale. I found the low nic (3 or 6) just don't cut it if your tootle puffing, you need to have a subohm setup that I don't use all the time. I still like to blast cloudz but most of my day is spent over 1.0ohm and using a 6 nic the nic fit isn't quenched.
I went and claptoned some 30 gauge kanthal with 34SS for fun to see. Its a amazing tootle puffer vape, 5 spaced wraps on a black screw driver(2.5mmID) lands me at 1.4ohm. Much smaller more compact coil for the subtank RBA that produces a nice clapton cloud. Before using 28/34 the coil had to be 3.5mmID to get near 1.4ohm, it was huge, had to be bent to fit nicely and took up the entire space leaving little airflow to pass and a massive amount of rayon to wick.
I also took that 30/34 clapton then twisted 2 strands together, not happy with the vape it produced. I either twisted them too much or its just a plain lousy build combo. I had the same lousy disappointing vape twisting 28/34 claptons so I won't be twisting claptons ever again. It looks impressive for a pic but IMO its wasting wire and time.

Try a fused clapton with 30g/34g (though I'd rather use 36 or 38g preferably for the outer wrap). Twist it after you finish wrapping the clapton and then make your coil.

Thats what I did, take the already clapton'd 30/34, bend in half then twist it together. I've tried twisting core wire then wrapping but didn't like the results of that build either.

Sorry, I'll try to say it again in better English. Make a fused clapton using 2 strands of 30g for the core and either 36g or preferably 38g for the outer wrap. After you're done, twist it in the same direction as the outer wrap. I had very good results with 32gx2/38g twisted claptons.

Edit: the 32g cores are a PITA to clapton freehand.

Having to wait a week to file a missing mail claim is irritating :grr: Caught my mail carrier yesterday and she had no help for me, just told me to file a claim, which I will, but can't until Friday. I did email Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers, so we'll see what kind of customer service they have. Sigh.

Hopefully the package turns up soon.

Just letting everyone know I'm still around. Hard to get online (cable TV & internet still down), I have to tether my cell to the computer, and its spotty at best. I am over 10 pages behind, so it will be a while before I catch up.

Good luck, Burnie! Hope you get those up and running soon.

You're 10 pages behind, and I'm a day late. Nevertheless,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Happy Vape-A-Versary to you!!!!!!!!!!

...Just Remember The Old Saying..."A Girl Can Never Have Too Much Vape Gear"...
I SHOULD forget what vape mail is, but it's obvious that it's somewhat of an addiction for me. Especially since we got a reprieve from seeming, I really am set for a LONG time, I technically don't need more! Unlike some addictions, I don't spend enough to ruin my or my family's life or anything, but it's an addiction nonetheless!

A Ways Back...I think it was back in August Of '17...When I 1st ran across the Tootle Puffers and I cut into this rather lengthy and detailed discussion about DRIP TIPS...I kind'a thought it a bit unusual but what did I know...Yeah Right...Oh Well...Rainbows & Chromes & Teflon & Acrylic & Brushed SS...I've got a rather nice selection on the way...I wonder if there's a bottom to this Rabbit Hole ???...Trig

Usually, you want more wraps on your coil, say 5 or 6. The reason is that you want a fairly good surface contact area between the coil and the wick. I would use 30g wire for that.

I never claimed I was sane, besides sanity is both relative and overrated.

I just didn't realize you could do that! Thanks for the idea and the guidance![emoji4]

Easy there, grasshopper! You need some fine clapton or fused clapton for that. I'll send you some to try but right now I'm busier than a one legged man in a azz kicking contest.
