I have a question. I am new to vaping. I am concerned about the Aspire Breeze that I bought 20 days ago ( I have been cigarette free...mostly for 20 days now, perhaps 1-2 cigarettes per day now) and I read about Formaldehyde being produced at high temps when vaping. I have searched the internet with no luck on this, does anyone know what temperature the Aspire Breeze atomizes at? I read that anything under 440f is safe but anything over 480f is not safe. Also, I use the Aspire Breeze, would that make me a tootle puffer? :p

vape on, dude. And don't put your clothes dryer out on the curb either.

23 Sources of Formaldehyde In Your Home

Sometimes we vapers get a little crazy over stuff. You're fine if you ain't smoking (in my opinion).

I would probably use it, unless you can find some reason other than lack of popularity that it was discontinued, though the 3 post deck being broken is a bit discouraging.... Maybe you do want to send it back. Hmm. Hopefully someone will be along who has used it, but if you can get a refund, I might (simply due to one deck being not operational).

Any reviews on it that were stellar? That might convince me...

Good luck deciding.

Anna

I still haven't learned the lesson to read reviews before buying. I was dazzled by the prospect of trying an RTA with 3 coils! That was my only criteria for buying it, lol!
Of course, that had to be the one that didn't work (it comes with 2 separate decks). It simply will not screw in far enough for the positive pin to make a connection.
I was pretty amused when FT asked me to bring it to a store to see if they could fix it (I did no such thing)
At least with the partial refund, I'm only out $6
I guess I was worried that maybe it was inferior metal or that something was wrong with it and that's why it was discontinued. However it could definitely be that it just wasn't popular

Thanks For That...And just a curiosity but is the Drip Tip readily interchangeable with other common Tips ???

Yep, fits pretty much everything I’ve stuck in there.

I've missed you guys too! I've been going through ECF withdrawal!
Life is back to normal for me. My husband's work is still closed (for the third week) as his building received some damages, mostly from smoke. But at least it's all paid time off and he doesn't have to use vacation time!
Chels so glad to see you back
Thank you so much! I love this community, everyone is so friendly...so far. Any idea about the temperature question? I just read the study on here about formaldehyde being present in temperatures of 480f and above. Apparently, though, 440f or less is super safe. Any idea?

And congrats on becoming a vaper. Anna had good advice for you. Don't sweat about this stuff too much right now until you get settled a little more into your vaping groove. Remember, you've been smoking for however long and now you've started on your new, healthier path. Give yourself time.

Stick around. There are many very knowlegeable people on this thread who will gladly answer your questions but everyone doesn't check in every day so dont worry if you dont get an answer right away.

Find a vape that works for you. The "studies" reporting the formaldehyde production were....well, not based on real life. IF you draw on your tank/rda for a good 25 - 30 seconds continuous, you might, just might end up with a dry hit (where the combination of burning cotton, over heated coil....lead to formaldehydes). Any person vaping, once having experienced a dry hit, will not care to repeat that experience. Not only that, but you learn to recognize the beginning of a dry hit and stop drawing. Welcome to the healthy (er) side, and keep at it.

Yeah I swapped out a restricted airflow one that I had laying around just to try it out. It was about as tight/loose as the other d3vices I tried it with. The drip tip that comes with it is pretty cool though. Double o-rings and a screw in plastic insert on top that doesn't conduct heat as well as the rest (stainless steel) of the driptip. It's not wide bore but it's not restrictive either. My 4mm wire-making-rod-thing fits in there easily. So I want to say it's about a 6mm airflow in the driptip?

Dee........ keep vaping. You've been at this for just +/- 3 weeks? Not EVEN a concern for you to worry about your Aspire Breeze, or temp or the big "F". At this point in time, please (begging) disregard all the chat about what's "safe" and what's not. You're still smoking a few (which is fine).

Give yourself some time and patience to get with this whole new lifestyle, and realize (please) that everything we do in life has results and consequences. The big "F" is no different. As DPL stated in his post, there are many forms of it that most simple disregard!

What's in your sheets, kids?

Anyone concerned about GMOs these days?

I hope with all sincerity, that you learn the bits about vape that are appropriate and meaningful to you at this juncture. We'll be here to help. I do believe you'll be fine.

I've definitely come a long way!

Baby. ;)

The only way to be accurate is with a very accurate temp control device.

And which might that be, my dear Anna?

"TC accuracy is dependent on a lot of variables.
  • The manufacturer of the board
  • How well the mod was constructed, specifically with respect to the solder joints to the 510 connector
  • Is it a quality 510 connector, many spring loaded connectors dont have enough tension
  • Was the mod calibrated to account for internal resistance
  • The quality of the atty, specifically its internal resistance and stability under heat flux
  • The accuracy of the TCR curve being used with respect to the wire
  • The quality and consistency of the wire.
  • The technique of the user in assembling all of the above
There are a lot factors that must come together to have an accurate TC reading on a mod."

It's so funny how (maybe) former smokers get so hung up on the vaping stuff, like there's some magic formula to make vaping 100% safe.

There is not, and we know that.

Maybe you should try a Kompact Kayfun.

I mentioned a while ago that I bought a clone of the K@yfun 5 and I've been using it since this last Saturday. I made a 1.10 Ohm wire and put it on a constant 4.2 Volt d3vice. Holy cow, I'm being killed with flavor. This thing is no joke. I have had to dilute my stuff more and more as the week is going by because it's just too much. I'm impressed.

.8 ohms is my sweet spot too.

about new Kayfun being airy. my authentic Kayfun Mini V3 was so airy I could get a restrictive lung hit with the airflow closed.

I’m not a true MTL vaper, more of a restricted lung and lower wattage (though I’m going wild right now around 20w). If you want true MTL I can’t say the KF v5 is for you, it can be considered a bit airy. I do make my own coils, anywhere from 0.5 to 1.3, but right around 0.8 has been good for me lately. Juice control works great with my 60/40 liquid, every once in a while I’ll get some seepage from the air control ring but blowing it out usually clears it up. I’ve been reading that the Kayfun Prime has a tighter draw and SXK is making one now, pretty sure that’s my next purchase.
