I think it's the nature of the equipment that is driving innovation. The higher Wattage stuff has a clear path to improvement. Make more powerful mods, design tanks with more/better airflow, create atomizers capable of firing at greater ranges, come out with batteries that can take heavier loads, that kind of thing. On the other hand flavor is subjective and there really isn't a lot of pressure on manufacturers to come out with more efficient MTL set ups. The stuff that's been out there for over a year still works for what it is designed to do. The innovation is happening at the beginner level to make it easier and easier for people to start, and it's happening at the higher power level to hook people who are into that.
I don't see technical inovation in mods since the current generation of regulated boards more than a year ago. The new cases I see are fashion statements like ladies hand bags. I can't say too much about tanks because I haven't used one since I discovered rda's a couple of years ago. My Nautilus mini is a terrific vape except it's taller than I'd like, a pain to open sometimes and I don't depend on drop in coils any more.

The new product market has beginner kits and cloud makers with little in between. More than half the vapers at work are in their late teens and 20's. Half of them use pod mods. The other half use the proverbial shoebox with the pipe fitting on one side. That's all good because they aren't smoking. In the mean time I don't see a mod I'd rather use then a standard Pico or an rda better than my SV rda clone.

I think there are a fair amount of MTL tanks, but not as many that meet the 22mm requirement. I've ordered several that I'm happy with but I can't necessarily use them on my tube mods, though it does seem that most MTL tank makers seem to assume that folks will still have box mods or mods capable of those wide dimensions and it seems those tanks have to be ruled out by many folks. Unfortunately.

How do you "child proof" a tank??????????
Guess now we'll see a rush for "locking drip tips".

You put it in a lockbox when it's not in your pocket and keep the only key on your keyring. Teenagers are resourceful.

And there's always sticking it in the freezer so the parts can contract when the pads don't work.

I put a drop of juice on the coil deck threads and the o-ring before reassembly. Kayfun comes apart with thumb pressure most of the time.

I wonder what percent of vapers are MTL. It's probably more than product offerings reflect. It's frustrating but not surprising that there's no such thing as new MTL rda's. The rda I use is a years old design and I can't find anything else, older or newer, that's tempting. May be MTL and rda's will come back in fashion some day. Dream on.
The MTL market is booming right now compared to say a year to 2 years ago:
  • KF Prime
  • Squape E
  • Hussar (w 1.3 insert)
  • Skyline (w either of the 2-3 MTL inserts)
  • By-Ka V6 and V7
  • Dwarv
  • Siren V2
  • Berserker
  • Nautilus 2
  • T18, 22 and 20
That's off the top of my head but there are more. IMO the market has balanced back out and many MTL devices are being cranked out.

Yes, maybe I arrived at the right/wrong time, but I really haven't had trouble finding new setups. With that said, a lot of my "new" tanks have been around awhile, like the Kabuki, my Kayfun clones, and some of it is just brand new. To anyone hesitating getting the Berserker due to its form factor-- it is an awesome MTL vape, I'm so glad I got it, and I will be finding out about the Siren V2, soon. With that said, I started out on 2 battery mods and have a few I love, so it's not supremely difficult for me to work with most tank diameters. But the Berserker is my favorite RTA to date, well worth finding something to put it on (to me).

Has it been confirmed or are we just speculating at this point? If it's 24 mm, it's just plain asinine for an MTL tank. MTL vapers love their MTL mods--22 mm tops. ;)
22 or smaller :)

I do hope I can be successful at building coils for that tank...

Just start with simple coils, you'll do fine. :thumb: Just be sure to double and triple check the resistance before firing.

You put it in a lockbox when it's not in your pocket and keep the only key on your keyring. Teenagers are resourceful.

He says from recollection

(Weren't we all?)

Or plain old WD40.

Except I really don't care to risk any kerosene leaching/wicking into my juice...

Yup, it still holds true; the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Come on Boge ..... it's time for a new cartomizer.

I could not agree more. The Berserker MTL is an amazing tank. I just had time to get it set up today. I had to buy some cotton. It makes for a great vape.

I have mine ordered already, in rainbow (to match my new Pico 25 TC mod...) :) I really love this tank.... I wish they made a smaller version for everyone, but in some ways, I wonder if the shape of the tank contributes in some way to the excellent vape quality...

I don't blame you in the slightest but it is super-fantastic. With that said, everyone loves le doggystyle and I can't even get it up and running.... if it's any consolation. This thing is bulletproof, I didn't even check out a video, I just read the "instructions" and had at it. :)
