I was just told about a new service the USPS has for customers, and signed up for it. Thought some of you might be interested, too. I was told it's not available in all areas yet, but you can find out if your area has it or not, on their website. It's easy to sign up for it...took me about 3-4 minutes is all.
"Informed Delivery® by USPS®
Digitally preview your mail and manage your packages scheduled to arrive soon! Informed Delivery allows you to view greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces and track packages in one convenient location.*
* Images are only provided for letter-sized mailpieces that are processed through USPS' automated equipment."
It won't show images or count things like magazines, sales fliers, etc. IMO it's a really neat and useful thing!
I have had this since it first came out. I do find that if I want my packages tracked I have to manually add the tracking number. Plus, for some reason they always send the email twice for the reg mail and only seem to feature 1 piece even tho you may have several in your box.Agreed, it is useful to me. I have a Post Office box and now know if it is worth a stop at the PO.
CMD-Ky---I have a PO Box also and had originally signed up to be able to pay online for the fees....that is how I think I was automatically added to the 'Informed Delivery' system.
