All of mine have the original firmware. I only use wattage mode though. Is there any reason for me to update to the newer firmware?

If there are no improvements outside of TC mode, I'd rather not hassle with flashing them.

I am wondering the same.
One of mine was shipped with 1.0.1, the other 1.0.0
So far haven't found a difference yet.

I would say other than to have TC or VV (??) if it works fine leave it the way it is.

Comparing TC 1.0.0 and TC 1.0.1 (two Topsides) using two different atty's cold there was a 0.002 ohm and 0.003 difference. One measured higher with one and lower with the other. Not too scientific but appear close enough to the same.. so same.

My three also all came with the original firmware. I'm fine with them just the way they are, so have no plans to update them.

I had the battery out of my first Topside all day and no luck updating it. Tried my second Topside briefly that I use too, but luck there either. And the last 2 that I don't use have no problems at all.

I never got the 2 that I had used all of the time to ever update. My gut feeling is there might be a bug in all firmware v1.0.0 versions that may write excessively to the flash memory. Flash memory can only be written to about 10,000 times and then you can't write to it anymore. I was using my 2 for 2 months, so it only takes 2 months for it to happen.

So in case I might be correct, maybe everyone with any v1.0.0 firmware probably should upgrade to v1.0.1 as soon as possible before yours cannot be written to anymore.

There are reports on Reddit those that have been using their Topsides since they first came out, the chips are starting to fail. I am guessing it won't be long now before we start seeing that happen here too.

I have been using my Topsides 24/7 for 2 months plus with no issues at all so far (78/76/60 days).

You cited Reddit, but not the thread(s)... I didn't find it with a search there. Thanks for doing so. It sounds like the CS from Dovpo is trash. That's exactly where mine will go if they fail. They were throw away cheap to me. Besides, I won't jump through MFG/vendor hoops that are unreasonable, nor ever do business with them again if they are.

Time will tell on my three I guess, but I'll keep using them daily until they fail if they ever do.

Must be luck of the draw on leaks. Some Topsides leak, some don't (including mine). Will be interesting to see what you discover, if it's a design issue, QC issue, something they will all eventually suffer.

I think I saw a launch date of Jan 15th somewhere but this is a reseller picked date, so could be completely arbitrary.

I think it’s strange there’s still not a single picture out if we’re looking at Jan 15, so I lean towards humbug.

Would love to see a pic if anyone has one. I am waking up sometimes, bathing in sweat, from a nightmare where it looks like a pulse X dual on steroids.

Looking at the ultem insulator around the 510, is anybody seeing juice "staining" under the insulator?
I believe it's from surface juice that has just creeped under the insulator, turning it darker in spots.
Not having any issues with internal leaks, but just wondered if this is normal, and if others see the same thing.
