Hey guys, I have been vaping over a year now, completely tobacco free. After alot of reading I settled on a Reos Grand Mod as my first ecig. It has served me well and has kept me away from tobacco. I currently use boge cartomizers and they have been sufficient for my needs. Reading a bit and it seems I'm due for trying something new. Others mention a rba is essential to get the max potential from a REO. Thing is I am not very tech savvy, I could not even get standard attys to work AT ALL. I tried several different ones, from the generic smoke tek to expensive HH.357. It would just gurgle and spit not producing any vapor. It was like that from the start and I just tried out cartos and they simply worked so I have been using them this past year or so. I figure it must be the Mod itself? I really have no clue but may purchase a new REO anyway, I have ordered a AVA thermovape atty as a last attempt at this. Any ideas?

I too used cartos originally and could not get a factory atty to vape worth a damn.

They I got a Rebuildable, wrapped a very simple coil, threaded in some cotton and the vape was in an entire different league than a carto.

Since then I've become a freak of sorts about rebuildables because they truly are game changers.

The great news is that there are more options these days and some very affordable ones.

Starting with an either RM2 or the IGO-S that REO sells are excellent choices from a cost, ease of building and vape quality standpoint.

The RM2 is probably the easiest to build. The IGO is fairly easy too and is all SS.

Here are a few vids of some basic builds for either one:

You can excel at rebuilding. Trust me. I'm far from skilled and can do it :)

I just switched from Boge 2.0 cartos to RBAs this week. (Now I have a years carto supply I do not need)

I have RM2 & Cyclone RBAs, they are both good. I would suggest an rm2 from Rob initially. I am using 30 gauge wire and cotton balls for wicks.

You will need an ohm meter and know how to test resistance. A micrometer will aid you in finding the correct diameter of needle/drill bit/whatever to wind your coils on.

SuperXDrifter has several videos on youtube that will help if you watch them. Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/user/sxmxdrifter/videos

Good luck!

Well, I see Russ beat me to the draw....

I'm not tech savvy at all, and I have no problem building coils. Really, nothing to it. You got some great advice here! The RM2 has to be the easiest I've built on. Go ahead and buy an RM2 wire and cotton, or wick. Go on youtube, watch a few videos, that's how I learned. You'll have it up and running in no time!
