For another perspective on the "clouds" issue...
Many of you know that I worked for a vape shop back in 2014. Our store would often have "parties" which might include contests for free vape gear and e-liquid, free food and pop, and cloud chasing contests. Our store was pretty spaceous when compared to the typical vape shop and the parties would draw vapers from all over Cincinnati.
Below pic shows just half of the store. The other half had a lounge area with couches, a large screen tv, and some tables/chairs. To the far left, outside the store, you can see our store manager grilling chicken and burgers before the party gets into full swing. It would soon become shoulder to shoulder vapers in and outside the store. One of the local radio stations had a table outside broadcasting live and giving out free disposable e-cigs. Good times.
Although I loved the social aspect of the parties, I have to admit that I often dreaded working them. The parties were a good idea by management to bring the vaping community together and helped generate some extra business for the store. However, the vapor generated from nearly a hundred vapers in an enclosed area was overwhelming to me. Sometimes I could hardly see the person across from the vape bar the vapor was so dense. The store had an air ventilation system, but all of those vapors blowing clouds overwhelmed it and made it hard to breathe. I had to frequently step outside the store to get a breath of fresh air.
I've always had some issues with the cloud chasing "thing". Maybe because I vaped to get off and stay off of cigarettes when other methods that I had tried failed. Would that be called a purist? I could never get my head around the idea of vaping recreationally just to make humongous vapor clouds to impress my buddies or that vaping could be considered a competitive sport. Maybe I'm just an old fart who is set in his ways.
