Tried the T3 from SI yet? Thoughts?

We must be talking about different threads. Why is it a bad idea?

J.R.

Because its poisonous. You don't want to potentially inhale it through vapeing. Don't use anything that isn't food grade to clean anything that contacts your juice. Outside of the pv or the threads is fine.

I got the wrong type of vodka too! Ok... what is the best thing to use to clean the T3's? I'm so confused at this point. I don't want to drink whatever I get, I just want to clean them. I'll probably sound like a dummy, but is everclear a brand of vodka or is it something just to clean gunk from the coils.

Google is your friend.

I'm going to see what's available in Virginia.

Hello, figure'd I'd chime in here with my T3 experience so far. First one I received worked okay, aside from some gurgling whenever I held the device vertical for an extended period of time. Refilling that one would result in a large amount of juice coming out the mouthpiece. Kinda weird, considering I was using 100% vg juice...maybe the coils just gunked up and it wasn't burning hot enough. I never figured out WHY that was happening, however, because I made the mistake of filling it up with a cinnamon juice and cracking the tank...so for everyone out there who, like me, was unaware...

THE PLASTIC USED TO MAKE THESE TANKS WILL CRACK WHEN USED WITH SOME JUICES. SEARCH THE FORUMS FOR MORE INFO ON THIS. IF YOURS CRACKS, STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY.

Anywho, my second one came in a few days ago, and it's been working perfectly. It will gurgle a little if I really chain vape, but no floods when I refill. Tastes great, easy to refill and clean (compared to the ce3). Trying to work out a way to keep the coils clean, so far I've just been running everything under hot water then sucking out the water from the wicks with a paper towel. Seems to work fine, especially when changing juices.

I'm awful cold natured, so I keep a space heater close to me. I've learned to not leave my e-cigs in front of it. When it happens, my clearo's gurgle and leak until I unscrew it from the battery, and blow it out. The battery will be nearly flooded. Of course, the battery gets hot as fire, too.

One side of my laptop has an exhaust fan pushing heat out. I can't leave my e-cigs there, either. A few times I put my ecigs above my keyboard, in the crease below the monitor. It's warm, but not "hot" by my standards. If I leave them there too long(a few hours), they will gurgle and leak.

I don't know where the line is, but heat will definitely affect a clearo. Is there a difference in humidity between Australia and Arizona? I live in the southeast, and summer temps regularly hit 95-100, but with 60+% humidity. "They" say Arizona doesn't feel as hot b/c there's no humidity. I've seen 2 weeks straight of 100+ temps in humid-less Denver. "They" are liars.

I think it may be due to the CHANGE in temperature, not the general temperature...I read this in another forum, but if you change the temperature of the the air inside it will cause the air molecules to either expand or contract, leading to leaking. I think this is why the device will work in 100 degree temps but will leak in front of a space heater (air expands, pushing out the juice). Just my 2 cents, I don't know if humidity has any effect.

Just plain water works fine for me, but make it as hot as you stand. I just cleaned one yesterday after three fills of a tobacco with caramel and chocolate in it and it looked brandy new when I got done. Just ran it under the kitchen faucet, no big deal. Maybe if you're using heavy, sweet, liquids a vodka soak might help a bit.

Do you take out the center post / flavour wicks or just keep it all assembled?

It depends on how "dirty" it is when I clean it. If the wicks are heavily discolored I will take the air tube off and get water directly onto the coil and captive wicks as well. That can also be accomplished by using a syringe with a 14, 16 or 18ga needle and injecting directly into the air tube but that has the disadvantage of not being able to see what you're really doing and the "flavor" wick is in the way of the coil wicks. Even taking the air tube off isn't all that much trouble other than being careful with the "flavor" wick.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results an mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied.

Those are the ones that cause the problems. A couple of liquids are 50/50 with extra flavor, making them very rich but oh so good. As long as I don't refill without rinsing, it seems ok. I don't have that problem with SI's liquids and the T3's and clearo's clean up pretty good just with the hot rinse. Maybe I'll start dripping with the heavier liquids.

I'm planning to purchase a vv battery. Wish I could get it through SI, but since I can't, I'll be buying it elsewhere. I have come to the conclusion that most of my clearo-type devices, including the T-3, just don't produce a warm enough vape for me, and thus, leave me feeling less than satisfied.

For the past few days I've been vaping exclusively with SI cartos. Yes, the flavor is not as pure as in the X2 clearo or the T-3. But they give me that nice warm vape that I've been missing ever since I started putzing around with clearos around 7 or 8 months ago.

I'm thinking that kicking the voltage up to around 4-0.-4.2 just might be the trick. Then I might really enjoy the T-3.

Yes you will! Even slightly higher! At least you would have the ability to adjust it to your taste. Also.. since you like the warmer vape from top coil, try a T2. Same large capacity as the T3.

One thing to keep in mind about VV and operating at higher than 3.7 volts. Most, not all, batteries used for them are 3.7 volt batteries. To get them lower and higher they use a buck and boost circuit. When it bucks, it limits the voltage and that's a very efficient operation. To go over 3.7 volts a boost circuit is used that is rather inefficient and uses a lot more current. I have two identical VVs, one I use a T3 on at 4.1 volts and another that I use a different delivery system on at 3.4-3.7 volts depending on the liquid in it. Casual observation, based on the number of drags as counted by the VV itself shows performance to be about 1/3 less in terms of the number of drags.

Now, that said, if the VV uses two batteries, say two 18350s, for a total of 7.4 volts, all you'll be doing is "bucking" and no boosting will be needed so performance, number of drags, shouldn't be affected at all.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied.

Awsum, thanks for the extra info. I will still use my Volt X2s for the smaller juice devices that I like (even though they are far from perfect). I want to stay with the 808-threaded (I've got bins full of all types of clearos & cartos), and I have a limited budget. I am looking at getting the Igo Revolver from NHaler. The kit price starts at $32 for the 650mah (price includes battery, charger, 1 Vision clearo; 3 coil heads for the clearo).

So far I haven't found anything that beats the price. Plus it's getting good reviews, at least the ones I've found so far. Voltage ranges from 3.3 to 4.8. I can't really see myself using anything over about 4.2, though.
