Tried the T3 from SI yet? Thoughts?

This is going to sound like a Washington DC answer....but....it depends. If you're using the standard 2.4 ohm SI coil head, I'd probably start at around 3.5V and work up from there. If it's a higher resistance coil, you could start up around 3.8V-4V and work up from there. Just be prepared for a really nasty burned hit when you've gone too far  The T3 is a versatile vaping machine and with a few simple mods can be made to do pretty much what you want it to do. The only problem I've ever had is with 100%VG which for whatever reason leaks all over the place regardless of what I do. This one is still a mystery after using the T3s for almost 3 months now.

Thanks. To be more specific, I'm putting buttery nipple in SI's T3 with manual X2, standard resistance? Also same juice in Kanger T3 with twist, not sure of the coil resistance with this, but you suggest starting around 3.5V? Going much higher, I did begin to get a burnt taste.

If it starts to burn on your Twist @ 3.5V, it'll likely burn like crazy on a freshly charged X2. Even once stabilized at 3.7V, your X2 may still tend to burn. This is a case where the VV batts really come in handy. I have found on my Twist that the markings are off quite a bit from what the battery is actually putting out. My Spinners seem to be a lot more accurate in this regard.

Well, my package did arrive on Monday.

Promptly filled them up.

First, let me say I like them. They seem well made. However, I have a couple of comments.

1) Be careful what juices you use. I tried Cherry Blossom, a notorious tank cracker, and sure enough, 3-4 hours after filling it, the tank completely cracked and spilled. However, I have been using my DIY Cinnamon / Menthol mix since Monday without problems. This mix also worked well in the CE2's. The Cinnamon is from TFA so other cinnamon may damage the tanks.

2) I also found them airy, and although I thought it was cheesy, ended up breaking off toothpicks in 2 of the holes. I apologize to those advocating this method, it works very well.

3) I have one that gurgled a lot, and produced little vapor. Nothing seemed to help. Finally as I was switching the heads with the one that cracked, I noticed the juice was slowly leaking out of the drip tip while holding it upside down. It was less than half filled. So, my conclusion, the seal between the drip tip and the tank is not good allowing juice / air to pass through.

4) I have to adjust my routine a bit. I like to switch flavors, and have already dumped 2 tanks because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing while unscrewing them. So I was holding the tank to unscrew it, and ended up with the tank in one hand, and the head / battery in the other, and the juice in my lap or on the desktop. Just saying, I will now be way more careful.

I know everyone is different. I never had luck with the Nano's and the 10 of those I bought lasted about a week. The CE3's were "ok" to me, but a pain to fill, not enough capacity, and inconsistent vape. However, they make awesome drip taste testers! The CE2's I thought were good, and what I was using exclusively until the T3's.

So, in conclusion, I think these are a winner. I am happy with them, and they will be my main vaping device with the X2's going forward. I like the capacity, the quality, and the look. Seems like SI once again has given us a quality product.

Mark

This happened to me when adding more liquid. I read on another forum thread that this is the result of liquid that is already in the coil assembly running down into the airtube when you are unscrewing it. It was suggested to hold it at an angle, allowing the liquid to run down and settle toward the mouthpiece, then unscrew it. After adding more liquid, wipe the inner tube of the bottom off before screwing it back on. This I have been doing and haven't had anymore liquid dripping from the mouthpiece.

Trial & error is how we learn, but SI's T3 is very well made. Just too airy but as you said, plugging two airholes solves this issue very well.

Actually it's opposite. No burnt taste with X2/T3, only with the twist/T3 (kanger) combo. If I go higher than 3.8V I get a slight burnt taste. I'm new to vv so still learning. I will try a lower setting like you suggest with the twist. Markings being off might be the problem.

Heck, in that case you're golden. Sounds like you've got a good match between your X2 and T3. Vape on! I suspect your Twist is putting out a higher voltage than the markings indicate. Mine is off almost 0.4V which is the death knell for some of my juices. Try dialing it back until you get a good clean vape.

You can get an inline volt meter pretty inexpensively, I love mine. you just screw it onto the battery and fire the battery, it'll show what volt the battery is putting out. You can also screw the delivery system onto the meter to see what volt you have with the battery under load. Or you can go with the tried and true vape, taste, adjust method.

Well, I have been using my T3s for 3 days now. Understand going in that I wanted to love this thing. Well, it is not love, but I do like it. The only part that takes away is the airy hit. I have a piece a tape around the knurled part covering all 3 holes and still too airy. I thought I would get used to it, but so far I have not. I am not ready to give up on it yet, but will be experimenting with it to try to lesson the air.

Maybe try breaking the end of a tooth pick off in a couple of holes that is what i did. I just have to be careful not to plug the 3rd hole with my finger again, can't get any air through it if i do that. Too much air is probably getting around the tape on the textured head. Maybe try covering 2 holes with wingers first to test. Mine went from airy to a tight draw.

I got bored a little while ago and tested the ohms on the 6 heads i have. Looks nice and consistent in this small sample size.
2 @ 2.4
4 @ 2.5

I am really starting to love mine, but i have only tried the T3 and CE3's. I really like these better than the CE3. All 6 seem to be preforming the same but have only had 2-3ml ran through each so far.

will give that hole plugging a shot

ok.. found holes.. covered them with fingers and meh.. still not a whole lot of flavor. might be good for the juices I'm not thrilled with though.

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:well i got my SI T3 plus extra coil today,,i painted the knurled part with green nail polish so i could tell the difference from my Kanger T3s at a glance ,,when i did it plugged all the air holes in it,so i took a pin and punched one hole out.

i am using it on a X2 650 auto batt,,,i was surprised that it worked so well on a auto,,,but it is great.

it is every bit as good as my kanger T3s.

no burnt taste at all on a fully charged battery,,of course i have 50/50 pg/vg unflavored nic juice in it.

I haven't tried and SI T3 yet but have been using Kangers for about a month. The airy draw was too much for me so now I use Gorilla glue to plug two of the three holes and the draw is just right for me. The glue is nicer than a toothpick end since it's clear and doesn't show at all. I use them on a manual so I don't really worry about plugging the third hole with a finger at all.

I have cleaned them, rinsed the tank and coil under hot running water. They don't seem to discolor the liquids I use very much at all unlike a long wick clearo. After cleaning, I blow dry the tank and coil with canned air, reload and vape away.

The vapor output is great and all of my liquids taste really nice, not quite up to drip/atomizer levels, but very close. I will be ordering an SI before the sale is over, if they're still in stock, and really don't expect a significant difference between them and the Kanger.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guaranty is expressed or implied.

I have some "thick" Gorilla glue that's been around for a while and has thickened even more. Just the amount that sticks to a toothpick end does the trick for me. I did worry about it flowing through onto the threads, but if it does threading it on will cure that problem. Just wait for the glue to dry though.
