i hear you can make a simple reducer out of a cotton ball. just form it into the shape you need and place it in the dead space of your top cap. i have yet to do this because i do indeed have a pulse g clone, but im thinking of resurrecting my AGA-T+ and reducing the top cap with cotton.

I did it with a beer can and it worked great

I needed to rebuild my Kraken (clone), so I decided to build one for the Gi2!

Dual 4 wrap micro coils, 27G Bagnet wire, wrapped directly on stainless rope with a mesh wrap on the top!

Came out at 0.19 Ohms which I could push to 59W before the 18Amp cutoff

Great crisp flavour but shreds the throat! A much better vape down around 45W........................did I realy say DOWN around 45W?

I ended up pulling out the rope as it wouldn't wick fast enough to keep up with the coil. Re wicked with KGD, much better now!

How does the kraken do with leaks?

Gennies are not like kayfun and other silica atties dummy-proof. Things can go wrong with gennies. But the flavour...Tastes soooo goood.

Pretty good the air holes are high so even if you build a leaky deck it still keeps it pretty dry, all depends on your build if you build a genny right you can lay it down.

Yeah I never had a problem with leaking on my RSST but I did hollow wicks tight in the wick holes. Being that the Kraken isn't insulated, are you able to to the wicks tight in there without shorts?

Yes you can. Once the mesh wick is oxidized properly, it doesn't matter if the wick touches the side of the hole. Other than the RSST, most gennies don't have insulated wick holes. It's not necessary.

The last time I put a build in the Dome, I used dual microcoils with cotton, and I removed all 4 wick stoppers in the Dome, and U-wicked both coils, so had 4 coton tails descending into the tank. Those coils were fed from above and below. The build metered out at .7 ohms, and it performed flawlessly through the next 10ml of eliquid. amazing flavour and great gouts of vapour. The Dome is just lovely. I love a build that puts up with me chain vaping, wicking like a champ.

Atmomixani must have been psychic, with their dual-coil mode airholes just the right draw for me.

I admit I only use cotton because I suck at mesh builds. I wasn't patient or skilled enough to get all those wraps glowing evenly, and even when I do I go through half a tank and think, ew nasty mesh taste. I know it's me because a well setup mesh build is supposed to be "transparent" in taste. Oh well. Cotton all the way LOL

Mesh does indeed bing out more flavor than cotton. But I have noticed that some flavors don't taste right on mesh. My light fruit flavors taste better on cotton. But my rich, bakery type flavors perform leaps and bounds better on mesh. I like mesh with complex flavors as it brings out all the subtle nuances. But with basic and lighter flavors, I prefer cotton. And cotton in a genny has never worked for me. The wicking is terrible and it just leaves me disappointed because I know how much better mesh does (for me).

I do love my RSST. I agree with Kemosabe. I can't get cotton to wick as efficiently as ss mesh on my genny. I normally build my RSST to 1.3 ohms and higher (current build is sitting comfortably at 1.6) and use it on my Provari Mini. For me, the. Pyrex RSST is my go to tank for all flavors that may crack my other tanks (aka Kayfuns). Because of this purpose, I actually vape a lot of fruit flavors with SS mesh. I find the crispness of the taste from ss mesh to be phenomenal.

I've built my RSST sub ohm once (built it to 0.65) and vaped on it for a couple days using my Shotgun mod. But I prefer the system on my Provari, so I took it apart and built it back to 1.6 ohms. The flavor was great and it produced a cloud chaser's amount of vapor, but I just missed the lighter and more pocket friendly Provari Mini in 18350 mode.

It's a common misconception that cotton is a great wicking material. It's not! Cotton does expand when it's saturated with juice, it's true. But for capillary action, cotton does not vertically wick as well as mesh. Don't believe it? Roll up a mesh wick and a cotton wick, hold them side by side with the end in a cup of juice. See which becomes wet at the top faster. The mesh will. The mesh won't hold as much juice as the cotton, but the capillary action is faster. I use cotton in drippers, where the wick is horizontal, and is fed from above; but I'll never use cotton in a bottom fed device, such as a genisis.

Is yours an authentic or a clone? I feel like I'm missing out with the clone, because the "delrin" insulators don't seem to be delrin. They stick to the mesh really bad when I change builds.

But yes, heck of a device. Once my budget recovers, I wouldn't mind getting an authentic dome for my Infinite Stingray. That Dome really shines on that monster
