so, i think i have decided on this

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

tho, still not 100%

anyway, so the cartridge says it lasts 3-5 normal cigarettes, this is the only thing that is a little off-putting to me, id like it to last a few more than that??

also, cartridges? atomisers? cones? cartomisers?
what are they? what do they do? are they ALL nessecery?

its all a bit confusing!! :(

for a start get cartomizer, they are great for people comming into vaping. atomisers tend to suck, take a lot of matinence, and more for the andvanced user. keep reading here on the forums you will find all the information and more you are looking for. the cone is a cover that makes it more asthetically pleasing.

Hi sophhh!

Yes, it is all confusing, especially when you're new to vaping!

Just a quick tuturial:

All ecigs need a battery to provid power. So, in addition to the battery, you can use:

atomizer + driptip (this is direct dripping)
atomizer + cartridge
cartomizer (this unit is a combined atomizer/cartridge in one piece)

As long as the threading is all compatible (510, for instance), you can use either or on your battery.

Hope this helps!

It is a learning curve soph. I'm still learning after three and a half months. Key points are don't let the things run dry as that kills the life of the atomizers(yours comes with that)...or cartomizer (additional option - not needed to start IMO). The Liberty brand looks very similar to others being marketed these days.

I'm sure the others are willing to help as they have done for me with my "vaping too fast" problem.

It is So Confusing. Isn't It?

But know that whatever you decide on, which BTW a Riva is a Very Good Choice, your not carved in stone.

Focus on finding an e-Liquid you like because that it the Most Important thing.

You have Alraedy made a Great Choice on Hardware.

Happy New Years sophhh.

i dont want to be filling the darn thing all the time though!

maybe i could just take several cartomisers out with me?

Catros or a eGo-t type tank I think might be the way to go. At first they are a pain in the .... to fill up but they last a while (vape a long time with them).

You might see the tanks with the carto in them, that is not the type of tank I am talking about (the ones I am talking about almost look like a small plastic whistle). They do get slimey sometimes though.

With a carto you just basically fill it up real good the first time, and can top off by dripping a few drops of juice in them.

A good deal of it all is personal preference..... Sort of like how some people like arch support in a shoe and others like a soft padding.

Liberty-Flights is an ECF listed vendor and extremely reputable. I've bought the Riva 510 for friends and they're very happy with it. The 510 is prolly best because the 510 threads are common fittings. I would also advise using cartomizers- easier and less hassle. Realize 100 mah= 1 hour vaping. The only problem I have is the batts should be at least 950 mah and 1100 mah is even better. As for filling cartos you could buy some XL or Mega cartos= much less filling and you can even fill a couple and take them with you.

I take my spare cartos in a Tic Tac container.

cartridges - plastic piece with filler that hold liquid and feeds your atomizer. Will only hold .5ml and won't last you very long.

atomisers - heating element. Vaporizes your eliquid. Keep several on hand because you don't know when they will die. Without them, your ecig is useless.

cones - gives a finished look to your ecig. Also helps in keeping your vapor warm.

cartomisers - filler/atomizer combination. Boge are a good brand. Makes life simpler. Fill a couple and take with you. No need to carry juice unless you're going to be gone from home for some time.

** As for cartridges giving the same nic as 3-5 cigarettes, you may as well forget that. That's nothing but a sales pitch. Absorbtion of nic varies from person to person so be prepared to vape a lot when you first start out.

Maybe you like Tic-Tacs once in a while too.

Sure makes carrying extra cartos around a breeze.

I just put the dry ones back in the Tic-Tac box upside down so that I know which are full.

I would recommend using the cartomizers, also. I initially bought the Tank eGo on accident, and I hate messing with it. Thank God it's no problem to switch it out and use cartomizers with my battery instead. My opinion is that tanks are a PITA for new vapers trying to figure it all out.

Get a big battery. Mine is a 1000mAh, and it lasts me AT LEAST all day, if not longer. My kit came with 2 full ecigs, so between the 2, unless my sweetest husband takes one and wanders off, I'm always set.

I'm at 17 days, and haven't touched a cig since my kit arrived in the mail. 20 years to 0 in the time it took to screw it all together. Pretty damn impressive!

    I know. I know.

Absolutely you can Carry more Cartos with you. I would sujest it. I would also suggest getting and Insulin Wallet and putting a 5ml bottle of your Favorite e-Liquid in your car.

+1 for cartomizers. i love my dual coil 1.5ohm (1.6ml) units, especially the clear ones so that i can see when i'm running low.

I liked the egoT setups, with the atomizers and tanks, but they were worthless for vapor/flavor production. Not to mention cost too much to replace. the dual coil cartomisers can be had for much cheaper, typically you can get 5 dual coils for the price of one ego atomizer.

anyway, enjoy the hunt for your flavors of choice :) don't dismiss flavors you may not even like in real life as foods/drinks :)
