Thanks, Turbo. Ok, that's amazing... the DNA75 is the same width, a hair shorter, and just about 1/8" wider than my old natural wood DNA40 SVA (which is still one of the smallest regulated squonkers out there). I have tiny girl hands, so it's just not comfortable for me to use bigger mod. So excited about this one!

Henry Etta believe me I'm all about size and maximizing ergonomics, just a real pet peeve of mine, I hate wasted space or unnecessary bulk and really do whatever I can to maximize my designs towards that end. if I could have my way a complete mod would be the size of an AAA battery, but of course we have physics involved here so there must be compromises, but I do what I can to work with what I have to work with :)

Like an 18650?

well once we get to an 18650 size battery then were pretty close to the size of the dna75 that you have, I mean I could sink a nuppin into the top of that so the head of the nuppin sits right around the top of the mod, something like this one I did a long time ago with a billet box

you know I just realized that I gave the dimensions of the finished block on these mods but completely forgot to add for the thickness of the chip cover faceplate on the dna75 and the dna200 which adds about another 1/8th of an inch or so, so it's actually about 1/4" wider than that DNA40 SVA I guess

when the time comes remind me and I'll do whatever I can to try to squeeze everything as tight and compact as possible on your mod, the ultem does have a little extra that can be squeezed out of it push come to shove, it was originally modeled after the wood mod but the ultem is strong enough that it can be shaved a little more here and there and still have more than adequate strength :)

Sounds great, thanks!! I'm sure with the way your mods are rounded, it will feel smaller even with the 1/4" additional width. But the smaller the better for me... as long as it's not something that causes extra work or loss of sleep for you :).

cool :)

guys I FINALLY received my orders of ultem and I also ordered some blue delrin that honestly I wasn't super excited about, but after receiving it and cutting some up I gotta say, this blue delrin is some pretty cool looking stuff too :) of course it's not the same space aged material as ultem but it's really a lot nicer than I was imagining it to be

I was hoping to have some pics for you guys yesterday but I have 2 stab mods that I'm finishing up and the CA finish on these things just takes sooo much time that I didn't have time for anything else, maybe later I'll have some pics :)

finishing up a few stabilized mods, man these things take a ton of time in the finishing, I've been sanding and polishing for days and days and they still need more sanding and polishing :)

ok, now I have a question I've been meaning to ask here for a while now, I originally designed these mods with the door sliding up, and in order for the door to slide up while an atty is in place I need to offset the atty a bit so the door can slide up past it. I do the sliding up thing because I like a mod that's very secure with no chance of anything inadvertently ever being able to fall off the mod. this is why I do a sliding track in th first place too, I think it's more secure than just inserted into an opening with just magnets holding it on...

I've had a few people now comment of the offset atty and that they really don't like it and asked if there is anything I can do to solve this "problem"

personally I don't see it as a problem I see it as a worthwhile tradeoff but I guess everyones different in what they like and don't like, so as a solution I have come up with a way to also do my door as a down sliding door instead of an up sliding door. now truth is the likelihood of it just falling off is really unlikely, but if you do slide it down past the magnet retention then I guess there is a chance it could slide down and off which is something that always used to annoy the hell out of me about the reo's and why I designed my way as a very secure door...

I guess my question is, do many of you feel that you would rather have a centered atty and a down sliding door? should I just make this down sliding door the new norm or default way for the ultem mods? note that this ONLY applies to DNA75's though, the DNA200's I have no choice, they must slide up because of the way the bottle is installed, the only way I could do a centered atty on the 200 is with a drop in magnet door which I really don't want to do, but then again, I'm building this mod for you guys, not just for me, so I figured any input from you guys on stuff like this and what you'd like to see won't hurt :)

here is the way I originally designed it

as you can see the door slides up past the atty and the atty's not really hanging off the mod, maybe a mm or 2 but I never notice it as a problem personally and TO ME it's worth it for a rock solid door that can never fall off no matter what...

and this is the new way I can do them. this is of course an unfinished mod just roughed out but to show the new door method

this will of course allow a perfectly centered atty

so opinions on this? I could of course offer them either way on custom orders if anyone really wanted in one way or the other but I don't want to get too crazy with the options here either. does anyone see the value in my original way of doing it? or do most of you just prefer a centered atty?

Although the centered atty looks better, I have the 75 with the upwards opening door, and can't imagine being on the go and having the door sliding downwards and not accidentally dropping/loosing it.

I never even noticed that the atty wasn't centered. I'm very happy with the upwardly opening door [emoji3]
