So I just smoked my last stinkie and only smoked 1/4 and tossed the rest. As I head out the door hubby (non smoker) says "and this is why u aren't getting anywhere u just need to not smoke". He just doesn't understand. Neither do the people at work. They say "yeh yeh we've heard it all before". I just wish I had the support sometimes. I haven't found the perfect juice yet hopefully its in the mail. I wanna be smoke free and healthy, I just need to find my ADV and the sweet spot for nic content. I found my setup ( kanger evod) might upgrade the battery to a twist eventually. Anyone else come across this, I'm really frustrated and kinda sad tbh.

Yep been there. People who've never been addicted to cigarettes don't understand. One of my all time favorites "Do you know those things will kill you"? Anytime somebody said that to me I would freak out. Not in an angry way, but rather sarcastic. Jumping up and yelling something along the lines of "Oh my gosh, are you serious?! Oh wow I didn't know that! Been under a rock my entire life! Thank you so much!". Sorry your not getting much support, but you've got support here :) Most of us understand what it's like to be ragged on by non-smokers. The fact you can only make it through a 1/4 a cigarette is pretty awesome. You should pat yourself on the back and pick up a reward. You deserve it!

I wish some people just could be supportive and positive, right? It does get better, I promise. All of us here are a testament to the real positive impact vaping has done for us to get off the smokes.

I will be honest--I, and several of us, didn't stop smoking immediately. There is nothing wrong with cutting back the cigs while making the switch. I had a few stinkies my first week. Then found *my* juice. Smoked even less, and less, you get the picture. We're always here to support you if it's not yet happening for ya IRL. Actions speak louder than words. You don't need to talk about your vaping success (or stumbles) with those that won't have helpful words for you. Just let them see you're reducing your smoking, and leave it at that.

It's okay to give in to the smokes. As we say, it's the one's you don't smoke that count. ((hugs))

Can you remember a time before you started vaping when all you would smoke was 1/4th a cigarette?? Be pleased with yourself for your progress!! I'm happy for ya.

It took me about a month to find my ADV. I settled into a nic strength quicker. I smoked and vaped for 3 weeks. I kept trying to vape through my cravings. It didn't always work, but a lot of the time it did. I decided one day to just not take them with me and I lived through it. The last time I smoked, I also smoked about 1/4th a cigarette.

You're already on your way and you're winning. You're never alone.

P.S. Couldn't hurt to have a little bit higher nic strength for the really stressful times or bad cravings, if it doesn't keep you awake at night. You don't have to drop your level right away, either. You're trying to stop something you've done for years. It's not always over night for everyone.

Gonna suggest that you use an online CC number and go to USA Made Nicotine Juice, E Juice, E Liquid, Electronic Cigarette Juice
MBV here on the forums (Mt. Baker Vapor) has a wide selection, allows you to choose your ratios and nic level, is not overpriced, and has very quick shipping!
I would suggest that you sort the flavors by rating, and pick out 3 flavors.
Since you are just starting, try a fruit/tobacco, a fruit and a "sour" flavor (lemon/lime etc..)

I don't like tobacco flavors anymore, so I never get those myself.
I like freckled lemonade (sour) and Spurbury (fruity).
At the price, if you don't like it, you have spent less than going to a B&M and getting something there.
I usually make my own juice these days, but I try to get one of my favorites and something I never tried before once a month.

First of all, hang in there. :) You've made amazing progress so far just to get to where you are!

Then, I want to say I'm one of those annoying people who quit cold turkey (almost 14 years ago) but I did it after many failed quit attempts using Zyban (this is before Chantix, etc.) or trying to go cold turkey.

The key for me, and it may not be the same for you but I'm offering it up here anyway, was to finally realize that the only way I was never going to smoke again was if I never smoked again. I could never have that one cigarette; I'd quit for a few days or weeks and then find some excuse to smoke: I'm out with friends, I'm really stressed, I'm drinking, it's a special occasion, I'm fighting with my husband, etc. etc. I could never have just one cigarette. Having one cigarette was not a slippery slope, it was a cliff I was jumping off of every time with a pack a day at the bottom. So I started looking at cigarettes as a choice - if I picked one up and smoked it, I was choosing to be a smoker for the rest of my life. It wasn't easy at first, and I missed smoking terribly, especially since my husband still did, but realizing what that "just one" cigarette meant made it easier to get through. I didn't WANT to be a smoker anymore. So I would not CHOOSE to be one.

You have vaping as a fallback. Use it! Vape as much as you need to and keep looking for the juice that works for you. You'll get through it and one day you'll realize that the choice to never smoke again is an easy one. You won't have to think about it. You just won't do it, and you'll love that you made that choice.

Keep it up and again, hang in there. Your tobacco-free days are right in front of you. :)

A good friend of mine starting vaping the same day that I did. I enjoyed it and even though something was still missing for me, it was def more satisfying than Virginia Slim lights. It's taken me a full 5 weeks to figure out what flavors did it for me as well as in finding equipment that gave me the best experience (for my budget). I have spent way more than I wanted to in doing so....but it is worth it. I am completely off of cigarettes. For those days when I am stressed and craving a cigarette, I have two great tobacco flavors at a higher nic level to help take the edge off that craving.

As for my friend...he's having a tougher time. But I understand why. It's because he hasn't found his "place" in vaping. He doesn't love his flavor (he only has two) and his equipment doesn't lend itself to providing satisfaction. So I try and help him out that way. I've gotten him an Itaste VV and I always have two different new flavors loaded into the tanks I carry around. I'm hoping he'll be able to kick the cig habit.....but I do my very best to not make him feel badly for being unable to really quit. The next time I see him I am going to give him a better tank than the one he is using.

You'll find your way too...don't let outsiders drag you down!! xo

I'd equate quitting smoking, to any major accomplishment you can possibly achieve. Non-smokers can't appreciate or have compassion for you, as they've not dealt with the addiction personally. It's more than the nicotine, the entire ritual of smoking is a habit. One most smokers and ex-smokers truly enjoy! The mourning smoke, after a meal, before bed, for most is/was part of your daily routine for years. It's very difficult to stop, just cutting back for some is a major accomplishment. Don't worry or let anyone discourage you, your half way there. It only gets better and easier! Good luck!

Kaua'i - Nevada
If you like sweet fruity flavors, Try out Guava from Mt Baker Vapor - I was born and raised on Kaua'i, Just recently I moved out here to nevada and you can bet i miss Kaua'i Nei. I got Guava at 5050 PGVG no flavor shots at 18MG nicotine and this is going to continue to be an ALL day vape for me. I Had to switch to Arnold Palmer at the same ratio because I'm trying to make Guava last! Lol, Arnold palmer is also very good. I would say put about 1-2 more flavor shots in it tho for maximum flavor

We've got your back here at ECF since we all truly understand your dilemma. I smoked while vaping during the first 2 weeks and after that I decided to not smoke anymore. I did keep a pack on me as a security blanket for several months but was able to give that up too. Don't be too hard on yourself, you are moving in the right direction as we all have. I hope you find an ADV cuz' that will make it easier to do. Good Luck and Happy Vaping :vapor:

I was lucky and took to vaping the very first day. But I started strong and found a good coffee and chocolate flavor. Regardless of whom you order form, just make sure the nic level is strong enough for you. I smoked Marlboro Black so I started 24 mg. Could have gone 36 but I'm happy at 24. Don't get discouraged with not finding a flavor right off. It's been a year for me this month and I'm still searching. Just go on day at a time. Good Luck!

For me, it wasn't an ADV that worked. It was variety. I now have about 20 juice holding devices, and I rotate between 4 and 7 flavors a day. I can match my flavors to my mood, and when I discretely vape in my cubical at the office, I can use light-minty flavors so people can "choose to think" that I like mints all day long. Then when I go out for a break, I take along at least two other flavors to switch between.

I definitely feel for you. Non-smokers can be a PITA. Co-workers are one thing, but your own husband?! Perhaps you should ask him if he's trying to sabotage your attempt to quit smoking any time he says something like that.

But, you do have us!!! ECF is like a giant support group.

Each one of us is different. Some of us have to not have any cigarettes around to avoid temptation. Some of us need to keep cigarettes around in order to not feel so panicky that we want to smoke more. Some of us need to have lots of variety. Some of us just need one reliable ADV.

I smoked for 37 years. I had given up hope of ever being able to quit. I was sure I would smoke until my dying day. I'm one that needed to keep my cigarettes for a couple of months so I didn't feel pressured. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even pressure myself to actually quit smoking. I simply focused on the experimentation to see what it was like and where it would take me.

Yet, I only had a few cigarettes over the weekend that I got my first kit, then have never had another one. On Feb.27th it will have been 3 years!

You're doing great! Don't let them take that away from you! Just keep experimenting and finding what you like and don't like. Before you know it, you'll realize that you haven't had a cigarette in a week, a month, a year, . . . .

In the meantime, we're here for you.
