Tank Size: 1.6 ml
Nic Amount: 12mg / ml
Bottle Size: 10 ml

Total Nic in Bottle: 12 * 10 = 120 mg
Nic in a Single Tank: 12 * 1.6 = 19.2 mg
Equivalent Count of Cigarettes in a Single Tank: 19.2 / .6 = 32 cigarettes

So a single full tank will hold as much nic as you used to get from 32 cigarettes.
Keep in mind however that you will not absorb 100 percent of the nic from the tank, so it will realistically be less.

It is impossible to make a direct comparison between the amount of nicotine delivered by cigarettes and e-cigs because the data don't facilitate an accurate means of measuring performance or delivery.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ette-vs-e-cigarette-nicotine-equivalency.html

About the only valid statement that could be made about what works depends solely on the user and what level of satisfaction is delivered. For example, it's Ok to say that "I smoked between 30-40 cigarettes a day, and now I'm vaping about 5ml of 18mg liquid a day. So, for me, 1ml of 18mg liquid is about the same as 6-8 cigarettes."

There is not a direct equivalency. Nicotine in smoke is carried by much smaller particles than it is in vapor. Your cigarette will give you much more than an e-liquid with 10 times more nicotine. The absorption is very inefficient. That's why the nicotine concentration is so high in e-liquid. Just get some 12mg, 18mg, and 24mg liquids, and see which one seems right for you.

But the two drops of 18mg used for one hit on a sub ohm/micro coil can make me dizzy.

Someone in another thread said based on satisfaction that 1mL of 24mg = about 6-7 cigarettes
This is pretty close with my own observation based on satisfaction of 1mL of 20mg = 7 cigarettes
averaging these whole TWO subjective observations together comes out to about 3mg vape nic = 1 cigarette
so (12mg/ml * 1.6ml) / 3mg = 6.4 cigarettes worth of satisfaction per tank in my limited and completely unscientific study:banana:

Yes On the .6mg per analog Marlboro lights.

On the nic, it is mg/ml. So 12mg/1ml.

Although nic enters the body differently and at higher levels when combusted in a typical smoke compared to vaping.

so at the same rate it would be equivalent to 32 cigarettes?!

so, does anyone know what exactly is the rate that it enters the body? does less get absorbed? into the body?

I don't like the idea of going from 10 cigarettes worth of nicotine (albeit with all the other crap) to 30+..... which is what im on with the new ecig

nicotine is way less harmless than other toxins in cigs, but its still not harmless!

Again, there is no way to make an accurate comparison because the necessary data simply aren't available. All you can do is experiment with different nicotine strengths and different consumption rates, until your cravings are satisfied.

That's a long read, but quite informative and it answers your questions.

I believe the delivery system on your PV also plays a big factor in how much nicotine your body is actually absorbing. For about 1 year I exclusively used Kanger bottom coil cartomizers (polyfill inside) with 6 to 12mg nic juice (sometimes 16/18mg), and when I started using glassomizers with the same exact juice, and PV, within 1 hour of vaping I would have a hideous headache ... at first I didn't get it, but by day three of the same, I realized that it had to be the change in juice delivery system.

I believe am getting a "purer" vape so to speak with glassomizers, being that the juice is not being filtered through any polyfill on its way to the coil head ... which I had expected in terms of taste, but clearly it also affected overall nicotine absorption.

thanks, will atke a look....my issue is not really about cravings...im happy with how much im having for that, but its more a case of not wanting to be taking in more/too much nicotine!

anyhow...I guess more info comes with more full scale trials and medical tests

    cheers all

Everyday I hear a different number of chemicals in cigarettes. 5,000 to the truth commercials of >7,000. A lot of those are fillers, but a lot of them are also there to potentiate nicotine. Even if you're using tobacco you grew yourself, you are still getting MAOI's and a short number of the other chemicals added to cigarettes. Between that, and vapor not being absorbed as well or quickly as smoke, you're not going to have an easy, "I smoked x-cigarettes, so I need y-amount of nicotine liquid."

I don't vape that much anymore, but I still use 24mg/mL. I started out with the same nicotine amount, and I was using at least 5 mL a day. Now, I'm using 2-5mL a day, and that is between my girlfriend and I.. She's refusing to let me buy more tanks..thinks the "few" I have are enough.:(

    I use 24 in cartomizers and a RBA/RDA..

^This right here. 12mg juice is 12mg/mL, or 1.2% nicotine by volume. But the whole comparison of liquid volume to cigarette equivalent is a joke, as has been so eloquently pointed out several times in this thread. Nicotine delivery from an ecig depends on a lot of variables, so there is no definitive way of stating "X mL of Y mg juice = Z cigarettes".

You have to figure absorption into the mix. IE: a full-flavored 100 smoke contains 9mg of nicotine. Of that, 1mg is actually absorbed. So smoking a pack will get you 20mgs of nic... not 180mgs although the pack contains that much. You only absorb 0.11% of the available nic. I don't know on the "lights" for sure but, using this percentage, doing the math will tell you what you' may actually be getting smoking.

so this is 1.2mg of nicotine per 1ml

my evod holds 1.6ml per tank....

1ml of 12mg liquid is 12mg of nicotine.

The liquid in an evod will contain 18mg of nicotine (1.5ml). However, you have no chance of getting all 18mg. Like you don't get even 15% of the nicotine in a yet-to-be-smoked cigarette.

12mg liquid is probably ideal for a 0.6mg cigarette smoker. Good choice.

I used to do a "maths" thing for people, but there are too many variables. See how you feel....you are unlikely to go too much under or over.
