It also depends some on the viscosity of your vg also, but I would say probably around 5-10% for me makes a great unflavored vape. With the vg i'm currently using I had to use 5% to make it feel like my before 10% blend with other brand vg which was thicker, although both sold as 99.5%+ anhydrous vg EP grade...

Also, some like all the way up to 20% water and me to in the beginning, before using higher wattage and dripping, so you just need to experiment and try a couple different blends with e.g. 5, 10 and 15% water...

A ballpark figure btw, is that water times 4 equals the amount of pg used otherwise, meaning a 10% water and vg blend, is about a 60/40 vg/pg blend viscosity-wise, and 5% water then is like a 80/20 vg/pg blend.

You do not really need water in unflavored. PG is enough. Water - only if you want to try it. Not many people use it. I use it sometime, still undecided if I like it. Sometimes I think it adds harshness, sometime I think it adds smoothness... What I know I do not like more than 10-15% of water. Do not like it at all.

I vape unflavoured 98% of the time 12mg nic 60% or 50% vg, and have done for all my vape life, just wondering what the point of adding water to it is?

Adding Water is done to Thin the e-Liquid. Which Greatly Helps Wicking and to prevents Dry Hits

For a 50 or 60% VG e-Liquid, the PG makes the e-Liquid thin enough. But for a High VG e-Liquid, or for 100% VG, those e-Liquids can be Very Thick.

With unflavored, there's no masking of the base ingredients going on, and personally I don't like the taste of pg, with it's bitter dry alcoholic sweet unnatural flavorprofile(imho), so that's why i use vg and water. If I didn't mind the taste of pg, then yeah, pg would be fine. With vg and water, the water not only thins, but also removes some of the sweetness of vg, like the nic also does, and pg slightly too... In addition to lowering boiling point and improving wicking of course...

Wouldn't hurt things to put a few drops of flavoring in there if you're coming from heavily flavored eliquid.

Or just put a couple of Drops on Regular Flavored e-Liquid in a Tank, then fill the rest with Unflavored. That way you always have Bottle of Unflavored to use as you like.

I just wanted to give my taste buds a rest tonight. I thought I was going to wind up with the dreaded vapors tongue. I haven't had that in over a year.

That's a good idea. I just made a small batch tonight and hey what do you know, it's not too bad. So yep, gonna make up a bigger batch tomorrow.

Another thing you can do is when you Re-Wick a Coil, or replace a Coil Head and you go to Prime the Wick, Prime the Wick using Regular Flavored e-Liquid. Then just fill the Tank with Unflavored.

It Kinda Blows my Mind how much Flavor you get from a "Flavored" wick. Even after a couple of Tank Refills with Unflavored.

Okay, i get that, if youre only using VG...cheers for the explanation

I never heard of any vaper i know in Oz who adds water, so it was a bit of a mystery to me

Im not liking this madness where some are diluting the VG with water to reduce the sweetness...sweetness is all thats good with it...lol, i actually add a few drops of sucralose to my unflavoured because it isnt overlty sweet :)

Ive had adverse reactions to a lot of things, and when i started and read that some people had sensitivities to PG, i mixed like a 100% PG mix and quite happily survived....ahh those cloudless days....

VG is 60% as sweet as table sugar, but the nic does take some out of it imho and the water helps too, but I use water more for thinning and not the other things though, but I don't mind the extra reduced sweetness myself...

The good thing about vg, for me, is that it's natural tasting and just nicely neutral with that added sweetness to it... I like big dence vapor to inhale and exhale, but without any specific tastes of e.g. cake or vanilla-pudding, but just a natural nice all day vape, with resulting nic-fix of course, is all I crave...

zoiDman, I for sure know what you mean! :) I tried for some weeks ago, for fun, to try some flavored liquid again, and after 10-15 hits, I wanted to go back to my trusty old unflavored, as I prefered that much better, and then I just kept dripping unflavored and thinking the other flavor would quickly vanish, but it was crazy how long that hint could still last! I later had to rewick, since I missed the true unflavored taste I was so accustomed to. Btw, the flavored liquid was just a single flavor inawera strawberry of 2%...

I'm the same way.

I used to cut my mixes with some PG but could always tell that it is there. It adds harshness and a slight flavor that I don't really care for.

Now for most of my mixes I add 10% DW to get it thin enough to be tank friendly. It is not harsh to me and I personally prefer it over PG.

A thinner liquid really helps out in the winter months when it is cold outside. Although it is supposed to be 80 tomorrow :p

Ha same here 78 in Tennessee. And oh how I remembered southern winters were better than midwest, but they are sharing our joy with the warmth also.

Oh I would never cut out the sweet with vg...I cannot stomach sweetener or/and sucralose that gives me such a headache. One of the reasons I got into diying.
