Buckle up folks, we're in for a ride!
Here's a response I got back after posting this video about my bank not processing my payment earlier for a vaping purchase. They left the response on my video and while they have an explanation for what happened, it pretty much forewarns that this is going to happen again with other banks. Prepare folks.

No, it's every vaper's responsibility to keep their community informed when stuff like this goes down so if it occurs elsewhere, it's not just an isolated incident no one thinks to report. This is important to all of us and this information was given only after I posted the video and got a public response from BoK on my Youtube video. They are the ones stating this is going to happen elsewhere, not me. No cares the sky is falling until they see a piece with their own eyes and by that point, it's irreversible.

Derp but you created chaos when NONE existed. It was a mistake. Take a BIT of responsibility and lets all move on since we know now it really isn't a true story in the end.

No, that's an incorrect statement. I warned that the bank would not allow my transaction to a vapor shop, they admitted that. I said they cited the PACT Act as their reasoning in the Youtube description of the video, they admitted that. I said I could not confirm it was national and not just local, they confirmed their bank will help but could happen nationwide. It IS a true story and it is happening. Telling the truth and giving out information is not creating chaos. I told no falsehoods, I'm not a drama llama. I'm perfectly content to keep to myself and help where I can and in this case, this is something we all need to be aware of. Don't read any further if you don't want to Jenn Perry but don't tell me there's no truth to what was stated.

How can anyone think this is not important enough to post here? In my view it IS pretty scarey stuff. With the FDA looming to deem ecigs a tobacco product and reading what the BoO relayed: you cannot make a purchase from a vendor on the net, by mail nor phone and must be in-person to swipe your card? Who thinks that's not serious? and this isn't even interstate! Its anywhere! I'm in AZ and have been thinking about how its going to impact me which was bad enough but this is going to affect everyone when they have to be there to swipe. Work arounds for paying don't even apply anymore hearing that. Yeh, WyattDerp is right "Buckle Up." And thanks for keeping us all informed. I just hope we've got a year until the FDA has their way which is what I've read so far.

What "ride"? From what the bank stated a couple few merchants out there have their business code incorrectly set as a cigar shop, thus the reasons for the declines. They need to contact their CC processor and get their business type code corrected. In other words - "duh".

Know what almost every e-cig vendor I buy stuff from has their businesses coded as? "General merchandise" or "Misc. electronics." Like I said - duh.

After 450+ consecutive posts promoting a vaping channel, this urgent message thread is shared with ECF members. This is the only help I have seen offered in a very long time, so it's intention is of course somewhat suspect. Some members may have made purchases out of fear without waiting to find out the rest of the story.

I'm glad Bank of Oklahoma apologized for the mistake and it was resolved.

I don't usually get flustered with people, but how dare you. Yes, I promote our vaping channel where we attempt to help people with a wide spectrum of questions every single day. We don't earn a dime. We don't get or ask or expect freebies. We have no paid sponsorship of any kind. We help because we have a passion for it and it's what SHOULD happen for the community. Too many people are out there for themselves and you want to chastise ME for posting a thread wherein I am showing what could still happen with folks and not just one particular bank you say it is suspect? You don't know a thing about me so stow your assumptions. Maybe you're just not used to people who don't need something in return to help people and just to point out a fact, no one told you that you have to follow this thread.

Personally this thread should be deleted and close. Derp you created this mess it is the MERCHANT's fault for having the wrong code. It created a panic and did NOT wait until you had all the answers. Come on take a little responsibility here.

Are there concerns ABSOLUTELY...but this was not needed and you know darn well people do not read everything in a thread so it's a total mess and I personally think it was careless.

The Sky is Falling
The Sky is Falling!!!

It is one thing to share an experience/incident
It is another to go Hog Wild, Mad Panic, What Will We do Crazy without taking time to sort out What has happened, why it has happened and what can be done about it.

This is the same type of maneuvers the opposing Team is using to try and keep people from Vaping.
OMG those cartridges are Full of Carcinogens!!!! (example):glare:

Shouldn't use lines like this to defend your mistake:
We help because we have a passion for it and it's what SHOULD happen for the community.
ANTZ use pretty much the same reasoning.

'WyattDerp" ......... obviously you had the best of intentions. Others indicated they had a similar experience both in your state and others; now, you are being made to look like an alarmist. You are being chastised for being concerned and taking the time to SHARE information which certainly appeared to be correct. I can imagine you feel a bit angry. In fact - I hope you are a bit angry! You did nothing wrong. You cared and your reported FACTS.

You can't win for losing in some instances. Regardless of what may be said about or to you I certainly hope positive comments far exceed the negative. Your intent was pure and suggesting you made some grave error is ludicrous.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS TO BRING THE MATTER TO THE ATTENTION OF THOSE WHO MIGHT BE IN THE SAME BOAT. FINE JOB SIR - FINE JOB. TO SAY OTHERWISE ABOUT YOUR INTENT IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS! YES, I AM SHOUTING; YOUR DETRACTORS ARE SIMPLY WRONG! I AM SHOCKED TO SEE SUCH COMMENTS BY 'VETERANS' WHO SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE MALICE AND IRRESPONSIBILITY DO NOT APPLY! THIS INFIGHTING IS EXACTLY WHY MY LOCAL SHOP JOINED THE FORUM AND THEN WITHDREW.

Had this happened and you did not immediately report your experience but rather came along later and mentioned, "That happened to me a week ago" - I suspect you would have been chastised for not sharing your experience. "Duh" would be for a different reason and "irresponsible" would be used to make you appear uncaring.Infighting kills the dissemination of urgent information. A suggestion that the thread be deleted would draw harsh criticism and reports by others saying they experienced the same problem would do likewise. Those incapable of creating a YouTube video to share information with the masses would be THANKING YOU for doing so. Alas, that is not the case and the "stars" with massive post counts are flexing their muscles for the wrong reasons.

Speaking in a softer, kinder, far more gentle voice I bid you one final "thank you".

Senile Old Man Don ...... Senile, but not to such a degree I miss the obvious. Apply as you see fit.

I would be very surprised if this would have gotten cleared up this fast if it had not been publicized.

And I think the thread opened a lot of peoples' eyes to other related issues that are still unsolved.

Nothing wrong with starting the thread, in fact, thank you.

Vapers need to have a speed between "Problem? What?" and "OMG, the sky will hit the ground in 24 hours, I need to stock up for life RIGHT THIS MINUTE."

In between is letter-writing, making phone calls, talking to legislators, talking to family members and friends so as to educate the public. A few minutes a month.

As a for-instance, I've heard from quite a few people that if you take a group of 8-20 people at once to talk to a legislator it makes a huge difference compared to going alone. Yet except for statewide actions, we can hardly ever find even 2 people in the same district to go talk together about assorted "treat vaping like smoking" laws which can lead to outdoor bans, rental property bans, etc.

I've realized one reason I don't have enough local phone #'s is that, being kind of introverted, I don't go to the effort to collect cards and phone #'s from other concerned vapers I meet. I have been remiss. I will now designate a shoebox and a computer file to this effort as my New Year's resolution, so I can do a better job of helping out locally when another idiot ban comes up in a city or county near me.

As I see it there are a couple of very GOOD things that come out of this thread.

1. People experiencing denials on their credit cards now have some clue what is going on.

2. We have had a wake up call as to what might very well be headed our way in the future. For many of us, if internet sales were shut down getting any of the stuff we need would become very difficult if not impossible for the simple reason that we do not have a B & M in anything resembling a decent drive. If this wake up call motivated even one vaper to join CASAA or to start planning their alternatives then I say it was well done to post it.
