If the government really wanted to stop the kids from tobacco and vape, why did they stop at the online sales?
Shouldn't they also require any vendor to collect name, address, and the rest, with a signature? I mean, anyone who sells tobacco, including the B+Ms, bodegas, gas stations. Since surveys show that is where most teens get their stuff.
If they were really concerned about the kids. (which I believe they are not, but only appeasing BT and BP)

(and of course I am NOT in favor of this, but just pointing out the flaw in their logic.)

(yea, like that's a difficult thing to do...)

It's not about the kids, and never has been. Think money and power. Vaping has cut into BT and BP profits and they have the politicians in their pockets. Now an outright ban means that BT can't capitalize on the vape train, but flavor bans and the mail ban and the PMTA Deeming play right into their hands to guarantee that theirs will be the only vape products around.

    True.
I'm just shaking my head at so many things.
How can a species be intelligent enough to cure illnesses, replace hearts, fly a chopper on Mars, hit golf balls and drive on the Moon, yet be so stupid, ignorant and/or greedy?
    As Spock says, "Fascinating."

(ok, time for a Makers Mark, vape on a fresh wick, and play some CSN on my guitar...)

    Seriously... about the children?

People need to wake up. We've had 20 years of tag-team corruption in Washington and elsewhere.

It has nothing to do about health and safety and everything to do with greased palms. You'd like to think that "your" political party has your best interests at heart, but these people didn't become millionaires through "public service" by serving you.

Over time, and history shows this over and over again, hierarchies of competence devolve into hierarchies of power, given a healthy dose of identity politics to push things along. Find someone for your sycophants to hate, and they'll happily let you get away with anything during the distraction.

Maybe, one day, our country will get back to the old-fashioned identity politics- the individual, the ultimate unique identity, instead of herding people into groups, setting them at each others' throats, and using it as a distraction while they rule for profit.

Pretty sure the law does require that, minus the signature. For vape, not tobacco.

i've been entertaining the idea of a little test: Go to a vape shop, gather a significant dollar amount of stuff & take out cash to pay for it and, if asked for any identifying info, refuse. "It's obvious from my appearance that i'm well over 21 and i'm paying in cash; you don't need to see my driver's license" or whatever. Curious how it would go down. Might end up paying a lot for some stuff i don't need with security camera video being sent to ATF. ???

I have read quite a few of the pages in this post. So, as it stands now, what are the current options for ordering online? I am getting emails from online vendors. I live in Tennessee. It looks as if I am lucky Tennessee has no vape tax, yet. Am I restricted to local brick-and-mortar stores due to shipping? I stopped vaping for a while and started smoking 5-10 per day. I am wanting to get back to vaping fully. Thanks!

You're still good right now, most of us are still using USPS until that gets turned off. Also I've checked and TN has very good coverage in the shipping setup we will move to when USPS is no longer available.

no sorry....it's actually required by law to see the persons id each and every single time....doesn't matter how old you look or not...no id = no purchase....expired id = no purchase....not a valid us id = no purchase...
now most stores don't adhere to the law and if excise really wanted to be ...... they could knock them for it.
ast manager of several gas stations over 20 years, co-owned my own tobacco store, etc....most places do not adhere to the actual tobacco and alcohol laws.....

As of May 2019, according to WeCard.org the person making the sale can use their discretion. If the buyer looks 27 or older to them, then they don't have to request ID. But states can add a more strict procedures including requiring even a 70 year old to be carded.
    https://www.wecard.org/sites/default/files/Federal_Law_Summary_2.pdf

"You must Check photo ID of everyone appearing under age 27 who attempts to purchase FDA regulated products and verify the customer is of legal age to purchase. This is an each-and-every time requirement (even if you know the person to be of legal age.) If you “carded” them yesterday, you must “card” them again today!"

So... after 3 months of waiting one of my packages from Fast Track finally arrived, well kinda. It looked like it had been run over by a truck, literally, run over by a truck complete with black tire treademark, ripped open, some contents missing and what remained of the contents smashed. So I sent Fast Track a response on my open ticket complete with pictures of the damage and the response was We are sorry can you send legible pictures..... What?!!! I attached multiple pictures all legible of the damage nevermind they did not even bother to address the missing items ...I give up. Never again. And I still have another FT package floating around for out there undelivered for 3 months...

Asking for photo's is just a canned response. Same thing happened to me. My shipment was so damaged that even the glass in the tanks I had ordered was broken. FT replaced everything. Hang in there.

    true...
    Indiana Code 7.1-5-10-23
ID must be presented for all off-premises sales as of July 1, 2010 per IC 7.1-5-10-23 (though this is more about alcohol then tobacco)
but seeing that if you are caught selling to a minor you can be fined up to $5000 + jail time (the person doing the sale, not the company, the company will be fined as well)....na anyone worth their weight just asks for id regardless...and no they don't actually have to be a minor, if excise decides that you sold a product to someone that is questionable on their age and you did not card them, they can smack you! And 3 smacks you can lose your license. This happened in one of my stores and I fought for the employee because yeah they looked over 30 but it was one of those do you look older than you are or younger than you are, and it was excise, the cashier didn't card them, excise asked how old they thought the person was and did you check their id....cashier got fined, but I fought for them not to be fired because all of us saw the person and all agreed that we (well other than me) probably wouldn't have carded them....
it's that fine line between which laws do they adhere to....one law states to card every time, another states only if the person looks younger than 30....and then there's excise that doesn't care, if you don't card you get fined!

From the article: "The government body says that nicotine itself does not cause cancer, lung or heart disease, but it causes the addiction to cigarettes that have been linked to 480,000 deaths in the US annually."

If only there was a way to deliver that nicotine safely to addicts...
Nicotine does raise your blood pressure though, which in turn causes other terminal effects if not countered properly.

This would require some level of intelligence - something social media, reality TV, and the internet does not promote.

You're not inhaling caffeine into your lungs though.
    That's insane.
    Caffeine Soap

We've become a culture addicted to stimulants, primarily caffeine. Also sugar. And wheat (yes, wheat). With the exception of those who have underlying & unknown health issues, it wont kill. Regardless, it's not a good thing. We went seriously wrong somewhere.

Addiction to nic, consumed via inhaled vapor (rather than smoke), may be the least of our addiction issues.
