I've now been using a 901 Puresmoker USBpass for several days (I switched from using a standard DSE 901 PV), so it is time for a review...
- This was my first manual PT, so there was definitely a learning curve, but I've got the hang of it now.
- I have the USBpass hooked up to a Kensington Power Pack, and the USBpass is a vapor monster
- Throat hit is great (much better than regular DSE 901 PV)
- Nicotine hit is way up. Right out of the gate, with the USBpass hooked up to a computer USB port, I dropped my eliquid strength from 24mg to 16mg with no problems (unlike when I tried to do so with my 901). Once I switched to hooking the USBpass up to a Kensington Power Pack, I dropped my eliquid strength from 16mg to 11mg. So, thanks to the Puresmoker USBpass, I have already been able to cut my eliquid strength by over 50% while enjoying a far superior vaping experience.
- Flavor is incredible. While Puresmoker's True Menthol has been my almost exclusive vape for a while, I have now started dipping into my collection of eliquids, and am amazed by the mouth-watering intensity of the flavors. Johnson Creek's variety of flavors, which I had long ago abandoned, have been reborn with the USBpass. One example: Peach Cobbler tastes amazingly realistic.
- The USBpass enables the user to take much shorter drags than with a standard DSE 901 PV, and still get all of the aforementioned benefits
- I have observed remarkable consistency in the vaping experience
For comparison purposes, I tried using a standard DSE 901 PV again, and here is a fun fact for all you kids: once you've used a USBpass, there really is no going back.
All told, the Puresmoker USBpass is a home run. I highly recommend it. Thanks, Steve!
In my humble opinion, the next opportunity for engineering advancement is to make a mobile 5V PV like the Prodigy that has a smaller form-factor more akin to the traditional DSE901 or the USBpass (minus the cable).
