Does the CA/PG mix ever fully mix together/dissolve? Mine keeps separating
CA dissolves in PG up to about 50 mg/ml (592 mg/ml in water). A little heats helps. A lot of patience is necessary but if you add too much CA it will never dissolve.

You could try using a Few Drops of Hydrogen Dioxide as a Solvent to breakdown the Citric Acid Crystals before adding it to you e-liquid.
How do you get two atoms of oxygen (or anything else for that matter) to bond to one atom of hydrogen? It's been a long time since I studied any chemistry, but this seems implausible to me. ;)

Yikes... That would seem to Violate some Rule about Quantum States or whatnot. Best to use Dihydrogen Monoxide as the Solvent.

But Don't even Consider using Dihydrogen Dioxide. Now that would make for some Nasty Tasting e-liquid.

It appears I added too much CA as after a few baths in warm tap water it’s still separated. I guess I’ll have to try again adding it slowly (I had dumped all the CA in the bottle and then added the PG)
I wonder if I can save the mix for other uses so it’s not a total waste (granted, I do have lots of CA and PG so it’s probably only $1 worth of waste

@ChelsB, one thing that seemed to help my one attempt, was to "powder" my CA before adding the PG. I measured out the quantity I wanted, and then put it in a small zip-lock sandwich bag, and sealed it. The, using a rolling pin, I crushed the crystals into a fine powder. Finally, I shook it all down into one corner, and cut the corner off (so I wasn't trying to pour past the zip-lock).

Doing that, plus using warm PG, and it dissolved without too much fuss... but it still took several hours.:D

Good idea, I’ll definitely try that! I better not walk around with white powder in a ziplock bag![emoji38]

You got me on that one! Of course I googled that and discovered I was punk’d!! [emoji23]I obviously didn’t retain enough science from high school! Good one, zoidman!!! I love it!

It just didn't seem High Tech enough to say "add water some water to it". Then I had to Fat Finger my Dioxides with my Monoxides.

A thread like this Needs a Scientific Slant to it. It's like saying... "I remove spots using Citric Acid" doesn't have the same Pizzazz as say'n... "I breakdown Calcium Carbonate using a 2-hydroxypropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid."

Would microwaving the mixture work? Even with adding a very small amount of CA to PG, it’s not dissolving (I also used a wine bottle as a rolling pin to crush the crystals a bit as I was too lazy to search for my actual rolling pin!)

You could use the Microwave.

But I would put some Hot Water in a Pot. And then put the Bottle of CA/PG into it. Or just run Hot Tap Water over the CA/PG Bottle.

Slower... but Safer.

Good point and safety is what we’re all about here. I’m thinking of putting the mixture in a mason jar and then submerging it in a pot of almost boiling water as hot tap water baths haven’t been sufficient for me thus far.

oakland ca.
I tried a much smaller batch than last time (25mg to 25 ml) I added less than 1/4 of the CA last night and shook it several times. The CA still sunk to the bottom

how about running the CA crystals through an electric coffee grinder..it's what I do to grind my spices into a fine powder.
