So I placed an order for my first kit, the 510, from cignot on Saturday afternoon...got delivery notification Sunday (apparently they arranged the shipment Sunday afternoon) but since then there hasn't been any update on the USPS tracking site. It just says they've been notified about the package to expect shipping.

There wasn't some stealth US holiday yesterday was there? I think we got regular mail...

I have been buying and selling on the internet for more than ten years and have noticed that the USPS very rarely updates the tracking info.

They use a completely different tracking number on the label or package for internal destination tracking and routing.

This info was told to me by my postmaster who I know quite well.

The tracking info you can see usually only updates when the postman scans the label at your door. Until then you only see that the post office has been notified by the sender.

Cignot deliveries (who I use) rarely take more than 3 days.

lol we all deal with this,it sucks! But look on the bright side, you can do more research on things you will need to know once it has its initial charge over with and it's in your hands. Also, the problem of waiting is much better than cart and atty problems(those are next unfortunately, unless you research).

In some cases it is, but for the most part they are slow as hell and there tracking is by far the worst. They shouldnt even charge for it the way it works!!!!!
USPS is FAST. The tracking is incorect though. Yesterday my package came and the tracking didn't even say that it had passed through my local post office yet.

I've already read just about every post on this site before I even ordered! Now I just sit around hitting refresh for new replies/threads...

I obviously don't blame cignot for this, after all I placed the order late Saturday and they arranged the pickup Sunday evening.

This i s an email repsonse i've gotten from Cignot...

"They always get out on the next truck. USPS does not always scan it at the sorting station though. So the next opportunity for a scan is after it gets to your sorting station."

My order did arrive promptly. I'm just throwing that out there.

I think its funny that the package that I ordered on Friday shipped from Chicago to Federal way Washington (west side of Washington) and then shipped here in Spokane (eastside of washingtion) today. Would have been here yesterday if it didn't take such a crazy detour.

Fed Way is the big WA sorting facility.. All of my stuff, and probably everyone elses probably goes there first. Thats what all my tracking says.

ordered from 4 different companies last Wed. around 6pm- Watched the tracking from time I was notified for each- Cignot first and then an hour later V4L they went through the same initial sorting center- followed them to when they hit and left Federal Way 1 hour apart. Cignot arrived Sat. but V4L didn't get here until yesterday.

So yesterday I had 3 packages I was tracking all had made it to the sorting Facicility by Sunday (except ElectroNixStix which sorted through Seattle) during the morning only one showed it had made to my local PO and was out for delivery- then around 1pm the other 2 showed they had arrived prior to the end of sorting- but it said nothing else then around 2pm 1 said it was out for delivery and 30 min. later the other updated to also show it was out on the truck- 3:15 all 3 were in my mailbox.

So proof that the tracking info is subjective to when the USPS actually inputs the scanning information.

Sometimes it goes to Federal Way first and sometimes it comes straight here. If it comes straight here I get it in 3 days, but it takes an extra day when it goes to there.

It just says they've been notified about the package to expect shipping.

I have found that this means the company you purchased from printed the trackable shipping label through USPS for shipment. There is also a problem with consistency between all the sorting and postal offices. Not all areas are as conscientious about scanning.

jennlsnoopy - all my stuff goes to Seattle, then Tacoma, before my local Post Office. Kingston is a small ferry town on the Kitsap Peninsula for those that didn't know.
