Well... sorry guys but the .5 already turned out to be a bust as well for me.

This one I started at 20 watts, then 30, 40, 50 and finally began vaping at 67watts, nothing but 70 VG the entire time. This time it didn't even last through 20ml of juice before the dry burn kicked in.

I was thinking possibly the vendor I'd gotten all previous juices from just had something in their juice these coils didn't like, but this 70 was sent to me from Yetivape along with the tanks.

Amanda I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I've been willing to try any and all suggestions trying to figure this out with no success.

I hate to say it everyone but I think I'm pretty much spent as far as trying to troubleshoot these tanks. Unless I hear back from Uwell with some tips or pointer that we all missed I believe I'm going to move on to trying others. I'm not going to say anything negative about the tank because I logically can't. Not when 99.9% of owners have no issues at all... it's got to be something I'm doing wrong or missing.

SD, I know Smok has some quality control issues, believe me my VCT Pro tanks are proof of that LOL. I'm just curious, would you still recommend high VG, such as 80, for the TFV4? I think it's going to be what I try next. There are a couple of others if I dislike it I've heard good things about. I'm just quite disappointed I can't figure this problem out..

@FinchX , I may have missed it, but what mod are you using? I ask because I have noticed significant differences in wattage settings with mine. With my Yihi chipped devices, I can run the .25 @ 75-85w with no issues. If I put that same coil on my DNA 200, I have found that 55w is really about max before getting dry hits. With the .5 coils its 60w on Yihi and 45w on DNA. The Yihi chips just seem to read the resistance properly, where the DNA is reading them much higher. (.37 for the .25 and .64 for the .5).

I decided to go back to that pesky RBA deck. I'm not inclined to accept defeat. /lol Then I watched this vid and it works.

It's a modified S wick and NO fluffy ends of the KGD against the juice/wick holes. I used a contact coil and tons of KGD. In my early attempts I was wicking it like I do on my KFL which is a bow tie with fluffy ends.

No leaks. Hope this helps someone.

:)

I have two of these on order, so I hope these problems are few and far between. Incidentally, it doesn't make sense that you'd get dry hits with higher PG - more like leaking. If you're already getting these with higher PG why would high VG, which wicks less easily, solve the problem?
It's possible that the coils are wicking the high pg juice too quickly isn't it?

That's not an issue I've ever had! The issues I've had with high PG are leaking and gurgling, but never dry hits. But who knows - something's clearly wrong here!

FinchX, I am convinced that the issues we are experiencing have to be due to something wrong with the tank itself causing a vacuum issue that prevents juice from feeding properly. I may order a 2nd crown to see if I experience the same issues. Nothing like throwing more money at a problem.

My second Crown initially didn't work as well as my first.
The coil started gurgley and tasted "off" when it did start tooting well.
I checked all of the o-rings and the base-tank and the top-tank rings were both slightly twisted.
I was dubious that would make such a difference but adjusted them so they were "straight".
Fixed it completely.
Those thin ultra-flexible o-rings need to be perfectly straight on that tank.
I didn't check my other two Crowns because they work perfectly.

Tolerances will fluctuate between batches and even throughout a single production run.
@FinchX - Check your o-rings if you haven't already.

Absolutely, even higher like MAX VG. The coils are sponges and need juice that gels and stays in the wick. Over all excellent tank, very similar in performance to Crown in the 80-100 watt range using the Quad .15 coil & Triple .20. The triple coil may not be quite as good as Crown .25 or the TFV .15 but is a much more "vapable" coil running much cooler than the other two which is why it is my 3rd favorite of the bunch.)

Over all excellent tank, very similar in performance to Crown in the 80-100 watt range using the Quad .15 coil. The triple coil that comes with most tanks is a good coil, the flavor not quite as good as Crown .25 or the TFV .15 but is by NO means a "throw away" and it vapes way cooler also. Probably my 3rd favorite coil these days.

Could be a lucky day if it does not sell before you are back on line, but ....
I have decided to sell (all new in box) my 5th TFV deluxe kit with a pack of quad and triple coils with some extra o-rings priority shipped in the classies >>> if you want to help a brother out :)

/\/\/\ If it is you @FinchX who takes it I will include an extra .5 Crown coil in the box from a batch of coils that I know has given me zero problems (to test) and a high VG juice sample that I know has given me zero problems on Crown. :)

I really appreciate the offer. I'm probably just going to buy the TFV4's together along with some batteries, need some extras these days, from vape royalty. Mostly because I can't guarantee when I'd be able to buy it. A recent quick design job I'm using to restock juice friday. I do have a gig Thursday night but I'm also djing there Friday night, so I don't know if I'll get paid each night or if they'll just pay me Friday night, at which point I can't have it in the bank until Monday, etc... it's a pain, but I figure I'll worry about adult jobs when I reach 40... lol.. Basically I'm not comfortable asking yeah I'll definitely take it but it might be over a week before we can make the transaction.

I'm going to be getting the full kit, so I'll be able to try out the triple and quad.

And if it's a bust for whatever reason for me, I may just go back to my VCT Pro tanks or possibly try a subtank I haven't really given a chance yet like the Starre Pro, Herakles or Phantom. Honestly I'd like a bit more power than my VCT Pros but if it's going to cause issues for me I don't mind staying at around the same level, though something with a bit better build quality. I don't know if it's just where I bought my VCT Pros or what, but wobbly/loose tips were the least of the issues. A couple are actually just fine, but the rest I had to change o-rings immediately, the AFC rings are a bit too loose, one actually spins freely. I'm talking like flicking it with your finger and it spin all the way around TWICE... lol. Never had any problems with actual performance though...LOL.

I LOVE vaperoyalty >> Great people. *IF* you try anything else... definitely make it a TFV4 as of what is available as of today. I have tried and sold sooooo many tanks the past 8 weeks it is insane. I will edit my earlier post :), but we are here for ya.

I just hit three of them and ask my wife, she said the TFV quad was louder than the Crown .25 and the Triple TFV was the least noisy of the bunch.
Haha thanks for the test. I hadn't used my Crown in about 3 weeks but I got it out today and was like whoa!?!? Hope my black one won't be that loud it's almost too much. Maybe the fact that the SS one I have is 3 months old plays a factor but who knows.
