Anyone have both the black and SS and have problems unscrewing the top fill on the black one more than the SS? Been a pain in the .... for me, just curious if others are noticing the same.

I have both and find the reverse. My black Crown's top seems to screw on and off easier than the silver one.Anyone have both the black and SS and have problems unscrewing the top fill on the black one more than the SS? Been a pain in the .... for me, just curious if others are noticing the same.

Cool!Well guys, I'm on week 2 with the original .25 SS coil. And i have gone through a metric ton of juice and the coil is still doing great. Wicking is working great and flavor is still on point.
I recently began running in SS temp control mode at 460 deg and has been a perfect vape.
I also have another black crown on order and should be here Saturday.![]()
I'm not getting any wicking issues. I took apart a couple of the coils to see if they were burning and I'm not seeing any burnt cotton. I have been in many machine shops and what I taste is machine oil. It's as if they didn't clean the atty's and wire before assembling them. I like the tank design so I will order the rba for it and use my own builds in it.A couple days ago, someone suggested poking small needle holes in each of the 4 wicking holes, and 4 though the cotton inside the top of the coil. That has helped with the wicking issues to a noticeable extent so far...... Still, it seems like a very nice tank in search of new and improved coils, like SMOK Tech has done with the TFV4. Though SMOK Tech has been making vaping equipment for several years now.
Where did you get it? Is it authentic or a clone from FT? I've got 5 of these and never had any oil taste from any of them. If it is authentic, are you priming your coils like in the video and slowly ramping up your wattage as recommended? I didn't like the lengthy procedure so I just fill the tank & let it soak into the coil overnight before using it then slowly ramp up wattage to my preferred setting. New coils are muted flavor at first but after a tank or so really start to come into their own flavor wise in my experience.I'm trying to figure out why this tank is so popular. Sure the design is great and it chucks vapor but it tastes like burning machine oil. I tried the 3 coils that came with it and 2 more from a 4 pack I bought with tank. All taste like .... After about a full tank the bad taste starts to disappear but then it is flavorless vapor. IMO the coils for this tank are complete junk.
I got it from my local vape shop that doesn't sell a single clone of anything. The code on the card also confirmed it is authentic. Now with that out of the way a simple google search confirms I'm not alone. The description of bad taste is anywhere from burning oil to burning rubber. This is a common issue that if had I known before hand I would have never purchased the tank. I am not new to this vaping thing, been at it since 2010 and started using rba's in 2012. My own coils that I make for several different setups are muted for a few mils before they come alive. This isn't my problem. These coils taste like ... for a full tank before they reach the muted flavor part.Where did you get it? Is it authentic or a clone from FT? You may want to show this to your shop owner you got it from. I know that there were some bad batches of coils the manufacturer has admitted producing and has offered replacements to anyone receiving them at the shipping cost only. A few have taken advantage a few pages back and one or two were grumbling about the shipping cost. Your shop owner may be able to get these swapped by his supplier without cost to you.I got it from my local vape shop that doesn't sell a single clone of anything. Respectfully and yes I understand that we are all experienced vapors so please don't flame me. I'm also very very very old.
You properly cleaned the Crown before use?
You properly primed the coil before use?
You slowly ramped up the power?
If you let it sit overnight you should be good to go after a very short time. Even the power ramp up should not take more than a say a dozen pulls?
OK. We all do this I think and hope?
What's left? The watts/power you are using? Maybe their is a correlation of some sort between high watts and bad taste? Or, it's a batch of bad heads? Personally, I have 4 Crowns and never vape above 30 Watts (0.50 head) with 50/50 and the flavor is great and the life of the head is also great. I run in power mode and do not use TC/TP. That's just my experience.
