The PM conversation was quite disconcerting. Despite being in Canada, the spelling and syntax gave me the impression (albeit unsubstantiated) that English is not the person's first language. That wouldn't be an issue, except when it comes to them being able to read labels. For example... I said something about how it appears more people have a reaction to pg, instead of vg, and this is what I got back:

"I've been mixing juices for 2 years now i actually supplie 3 of the other bigger sites with most of their juice usually put out 3-4 gallons a week of juice and i get more requests for pure pg do to people allergic to the vg and it's usually 90% of the people allergic to VG are also allergic to Penecillin i usually cheat and use the wrist test of putting a drop of pure vg on one wrist and a drop of pure pg on the other to see wich one turns red to determin what their allergic to have never had a customer allergic to my pg then again the pg problem might be china using deg and peg instead of pg both being anti freeze bases" [sic]

Holy F-ing crap! What a load of garbage from someone whose veracity I would doubt. I'd NEVER order ANYTHING from them, for sure. Really!! DEG and PEG!! WOW!

I've been in a quandary about this since last night. I tend to be resistant to regulations, thinking that most people are bright enough to regulate themselves, but this is giving me pause. An innocent customer becoming ill due to the practices of a clueless vendor doesn't qualify for a Darwin Award. Here's more from the PM:

"ya the more vg you use the sweeter the flavor will be seen vg granuals are also used as sweetner for diabetics pg is an unrefined alchole much like vodka" [sic]

I disagreed with that and received this response:

"no vg is the sweet base i have some people that buy pure vg for me to use as coffee sweetner/sun burn lotion. and peg is used for bi synthetic disel actually comes with a warning to not injest do not let contact with skin right on it yet some suppliers are using peg in their e-juices." [sic]

Further PMs clarified that the "vendor" is convinced that issues with the quality of e-liquids are mainly confined to products produced in China.

Notably, Chinese products receive a lot of negative posts (frequently from folks happily vaping away on Joyetechs), but they seem unaware that: 1) In the growing vaping market Chinese companies would be cutting their own throats to produce inferior products; and 2) Two Chinese people involved in the contaminated baby formula scandal of 2008 were executed and 3 more were given life sentences (still others received 5-15 years in jail). That would not have happened in the US or Canada.

I don't know what to think about this. Negative reviews about vendors tend to be about shipping problems and lousy CS. Where does one report that a vendor might kill someone? This person is actually selling! I can't post a link to the website, since (thank God) they are not an approved vendor, but you can find it at Canada dash e dash cig dot ca.

I can't recall off the top of my head whether it's vg or pg that can create a warming sensation on the skin. I'm sure that's all his fancy "wrist test" is demonstrating.
People like this are just flat out scary and the bane of reputable vendors everywhere. Pure poison to the industry as a whole.
Hopefully he goes out of business before damaging the industry or killing/maiming a customer.
