Kudos again to Ray! Check this out:
How to not run a business 101: My local B&M (where I don't shop because of their prices) had a sub-forum on ECF. I asked a question once and it took them over a month to answer, and when they did, I thought the answer was dumb. ("Why don't you let people try juices in the store before they buy? They could bring their own attys & drip tips, or you could sell them, they're not very expensive." "The reasone we dont let people sample liquid is because its a healt issue."[sic]) oookkkk
They were running a contest, that went on and on and on. They didn't allow chit-chat and although the first page said the contest was going to change once a week, it rarely did. The occasional times the supplier did post he just snapped at people, claiming he had gotten numerous PMs that members weren't following the rules. Suddenly, a couple of weeks ago the sub-forum disappeared. I and a few others tried to access it, but got a warning that we didn't have privileges. About a week after that, the sub-forum came back, but it's read only. My curiosity piqued, I called them and asked what happened. They told me that they were kicked off ECF because they weren't posting enough to warrant a sub-forum. Excuse me??? The store has two owners and at least 6 employees I can think of and they don't have time to be friendly, develop customer loyalty and get free word-of-mouth advertising? Major Doink.
