1/6 Entry #4 . . .

4. After trying to troubleshoot computer problems for 90 minutes, it turns out that I just needed a reboot. That's annoying and humbling at the same time. The lesson is that sometimes the simplest solutions are all you need. I was digging way too deep to try to fix something that was so easy to solve. Ha!

Nothing wrong with CLEAN Windows. A fresh install of Windows is fast snappy and quite nice. Add anything to it... and well... ecf rules prevent me.from saying what happens.

Well - I understand that and a lot of people feel that same way too . . . :)

AND - Honestly until I got "XP Pro" I would have agreed with you . . . :thumb:

I just like the simplesty of "Windows", especially since I can do a lot more with it - then anything "Apple" related and everything that MUST BE DONE ONLY THEIR WAY . . .

*chit chat* you guys don't know fast and stable till you've seen gentoo with enlightenment. Though I really don't agree with canonicals philosophy (trying too hard to be apple these days) and I don't like Unity (too much of a resource hog) I am so glad for the headway Ubuntu has made into bringing linux to the foreground

Computers compute, no matter who makes them. However, I do feel that more people should try open source - free and community is what it's all about (that's why you're here after all right?) If anyone want to know more, shoot me a pm.

MrPicC, partially due to your raving, I purchased Gandalf and Shadowfax. I think I also added Bah-In and something else... Pear maybe.

These are my first tobacco flavors - previously I had shunned them because that's what I gave up, no? But after having heard such great things, I figured what the hey.

*Edit- inanitydefined, sorry I didn't see your post prior to mine. Are you on #linuxdistrocommunity?

Bah-in is better then pear IMO but then again neither are fully steeped..
Gandalf is still new to me but I have vaped about 8 ml since yesterday! It's also one I consider not steeped right now but I'm liking it for it's simplicity ..
SHADOWFAX... MMMMMM Yeah buddy I have about 45 ml left and it's not enough. Silky creamy after vape with a splash of what I consider vanilla .. THough don't get me all wrong it's a tobacco nonetheless..
If you ever need any suggestions shoot me a pm I have about 16 bottles of hhv at this moment.. 2 more shipping tomorrow.:)
I hear ya VINCE BUT! Good flavor is good flavor!!!! Nothing HHV makes will ever remind you of a cigarette.. It destroys any flavor you could ever smoke..
If Cigarettes tasted like HHV I would of never quit!

Chit Chat . . .

I would really like to go open source - however I am not computer literate enough anymore to keep up with all the changes . . . Just like changing over to vaping - it has got to simple and easy enough to do . . . HECK - I started a long time ago with a Commodore in the 80's then just before I went to college in the 90's I got use of an Apple IIe for awhile - then up to MS 3.11 - even tried another Apple - before I just move back to MS & "Millennium" - all the way now to XP Pro . . . AND - With the way I feel about the possibility of all the computer "gurus" out there doing what ever they want - I am a little concerned that someone will try to screw with the open source before anyone has a chance to stop them . . . SO ? ? ? ?

2) I still have my 512K Mac and the last time I checked it worked. I miss the days when I would save something on the external drive and the components would hum back and forth to each other almost like they were singing. It was so satisfying to go make a cup of tea and come back to a saved document.

Uncle, I believe the argument is that if we take the time to learn, all doors are open. I think you were saying that earlier.

Proprietary code is the only thing anyone should ever be worried about, certainly not free and open source code. After all, if the code is there for all to see, how is one going to insert nasty? When proprietary code breaks, we pay to fix it. When open source code breaks, we fix it, fork it, make it better, make it ours, share it, and most importantly, we use it.
